We got an over-the-water cabana at Nellie's Beach.

We're going with a group of friends on Allure next October, and we've already snagged three over-the-water cabanas for our group. I was very happy to be able to reserve them well over a year in advance to ensure that we get them. We're going to have a grand ol' time in Labadee, both this cruise and the next couple!

The shrimp tacos were okay. There was a lot of shrimp in them, so I give them credit for that, but I think I would have preferred to get beef instead now that I've tried them. I also had the banana enchiladas which were quite tasty.

The cabanas are definitely worth it in a group to split the cost. Even without, it's a great place to relax and comes with water, floating mats, a cabana attendant who'll bring you drinks and such, and an upgraded lunch buffet (including steak and shrimp).

I've only had cabanas at Barefoot Beach in the past, so this will be interesting to see what they're like over at Nellie's.

I will be anxious to see your pictures from the cabana at Nellie's since that is where we will be, also. It sounds as if your October group is similar to our May group in 2015. Yes, we are splitting the cost also. With 4-5 people in a cabana (up to 6) it isn't that pricey for a nice day. Do the Nellie's cabanas come complete with floating mats also? That would be nice.:)

I'm currently sitting out on our balcony, enjoying the unlimited wifi and relaxing while Bryan gets ready for us to head out and explore more.

We have a fantastic view of the starboard-aft section and behind the ship, as well as other parts of the Boardwalk including the left half of the Aquatheater.

I'll note that the cabin's left balcony divider is only about half as wide as the rest of the balcony dividers. For some reason, there's more of a metal structure separating the balconies here. I'll try to remember to take a picture to show how it differs.

We've gone through our dining plans and made the rest of our Allure Choice Dining Package reservations. We're going to be so full of good food by the end of the cruise!

We've not yet seen our stateroom attendant, but we're sure we'll see him soon enough. Our bed was pushed together (despite the reservation preference), so we'll get it separated before tonight.

For Club Royale members, I'll note that typically I've had a letter from the casino host welcoming me onboard, but not this time. I hope they haven't forgotten I'm here... they owe me money! :D

For my LGBT friends, the Friends of Dorothy (LGBT) meeting is scheduled daily at 5:00 in the Champagne & Martini Bar. Obviously, I doubt anyone would be there this afternoon since that's sail away time.

Coupon books are still printed. No sign of electronic coupons here.

The Coke package cups are different on this ship. They've finally upgraded to a new style. I'm actually looking forward to taking this tumbler home. I'll get a picture of it later.

Well, that's about as much as I can remember I wanted to share right now. I know many of you are jealous of me, and that's okay... Cause I'm on a cruise! :p :D

That is an excellent cabana! I had one last October when I was on Oasis and ours had a perfect view of the hillside and Oasis herself. I would post a few pictures for you to see but I think it's best for it to be surprise for you when you get there :)

We've had cabanas at both Barefoot and Nellie's. Over the water at Barefoot and beach on both. The cabanas themselves are identical in size and amenities. I actually prefer Nellie's as there are less rocks and there isn't a dropoff in the water like there is on Barefoot. We have a beach cabana again on Nellie's in Nov when we're on Allure. Just DH and I. We've shared before, but other than the company, we prefer to have a cabana to ourselves.:D

Actually, we're at Rita's Cantina enjoying some chips and salsa before my shrimp tacos arrive.

I'm happy to report that we managed to get the last available cabana at Labadee! Yay!

Nice work on the cabana. Looking forward to the pictures from a western cruise. Hoping to do one in a few years.

We are on board also. We will look for you. :). But, we are going to unplug and won't be getting wifi. I think my FIL is getting it.

We got to the port about 11:30 and we were able to walk right on. No line or wait anywhere.

So far, we like the ship and our family ocean view (we have 3 kids) but the room isn't as grand as the family ocean view we had on FOS last year.

Enjoy your cabana!

Here is to a great cruise.

We have been watching the web cam and there has been a ton of chatter about having to wait to take down the gangway due to needing to take two passangers off the ship.

It's hard to understand all that is being said on the harbor radio system but did hear something about "police".

Just now they said they were ready to get underway.

We have been on the Allure and next week will be out 3rd time on the Oasis; just love these ships--the best in our 34 cruises.

To all onboard have a GREAT week.

We've set sail! I managed to see myself on the web cam, but alas, I wasn't able to grab a screenshot this time. I'm told that my DH did manage some screenshots from home, so after I get back, I'll see about uploading them.

I'm now dressed for dinner in the main dining room (My Time Dining). Shortly we'll head on down to the deck 5 restaurant and enjoy a lovely dinner that will remind me just how enjoyable cruising can be.

why did they have two tugs along side the ship just now

We don't know. Our guess is that perhaps one is going to pick up the pilot and then they're going to head off to bring in a cargo ship nearby and bring her into port.

That's just a guess, though.

Thanks to all of you who have joined me on my trip. It's great to have the company!

We just got to the hotel after having a yummy crab lunch (although it was rather pricey, but there was a lot of crab included!). We are staying at the Hampton Inn (North Cruise Port, I think it's called). We got a prepaid rate of about $110 including taxes, so it's not too bad. We'll be returning our Avis rental car in the morning and taking their shuttle to the port

Does that Hampton Inn also have an airport shuttle, or is that why you have the rental? I need just a place to crash before my December cruise, landing at about 9 pm so I won't be exploring FLL.

Edit : I love Oasis and Allure threads, very excited to hear about your trip!

Looking forward to reading your live review Marc. I'm with SunnyAZGirl (Ginny) on deck 11 aft on the Oasis in 2015. We were also on the Allure last May and loved the ship so much so we booked the sister Oasis. As Ginny said, we all got OTW cabanas at Labadee. What I'm interested in and hope you take good pictures is the entrances into the water from the cabanas. I know some of them have ladders into the water and I can't do ladders. Some have stairs into the water. Can you specify and take picture of cabana's to avoid so I can tell the cabana attendant to avoid them for me?
