2.Are you saying that you did not cruise for this entire 'casino year', April 1, 2021 - March 31, 2022?

But will still maintain previous years status? Thanks in advance for any clarity you can offer.

Yes.  We have not cruised since Feb 2020 and we will not cruise before the casino year ends (3-31-22).

Even though there is very little chance that we will be allowed to cruise (unvaxxed) I went ahead and booked the casino offer on Wonder (4-8-22).  During my chat with the CR CSR, I asked him to confirm that, on that cruise, we would not be eligible for any of the Prime amenities since our cruise would be after 4-1-22 and theoretically our status would be dropped on 3-31-22.  He put me on hold for some time and when he returned he confirmed that we would be eligible for continued Prime amenities b/c they had already decided to extend our status for another year. This is the best possible news for us as we assumed that we would lose our status at the end of March.

Over on the blog, someone had posted a letter from Club Royale that stated that the casino status was being extended again but I wanted to hear it directly from someone at Club Royale.  Trust me, I am well aware that CSR often have incorrect information so I guess until I get that letter (assuming it will be sent to everyone at some point) from them, I cannot be certain but I feel pretty confident at this point.

Of all of the negative fallout resulting from not cruising and refusing the injections, losing our Prime status was the most problematic for us.  Knowing that we will have another year to get back on track is a huge relief.

Thank you for taking the time to respond in such detail. That is great news. I hope that the offer

includes all status levels.

We received the postcards with a few offers but nothing spectacular.  When I logged into the account yesterday, most of the offers had between 5 to 20 sailings available, mostly interior or ocean view or a few balconies on short cruises.  But then one of offers had well over 100 cruises listed including multiple dates with Junior Suites on the Wonder!  We booked that one ASAP!😁

I feel like I won the lottery.

One of my offers (comped JS or balcony on a bunch of sailings) was expiring today, and I really hated letting it go. Then, I saw that I'd had a new offer added. Both offers included sailings out of Cape Liberty.

I saw that for the 5-night Canada cruise on Adventure of the Seas that includes Memorial Day for which I had a comped JS offer actually did have one junior suite available. Then, I was able to use the other offer for a second 5-night cruise, this time to Bermuda.

Then, using FCCs that have been burning a hole in my pocket, I picked up a (paid-for) junior suite on the 4-night Canada sailing between the two comped sailings, and I was even able to get the same cabin for the first sailing. (The third sailing of this B2B2B is in a different JS.) Oh, and for some reason, the pricing ended up looking like this:

Hubby's never been to Bermuda, but I did once years ago (Hi, @RFerrington!). Neither of us have been to Halifax, so that'll be new. I grew up in Maine, but I've not seen Bar Harbor since 1980. It'll be neat to go there again.

The only money out of pocket for all three sailings are the taxes/fees and prepaid gratuities. So, if these sailings don't happen (or change my mind about them), I don't feel so bad. (I do wonder whether the FCCs would retain their original sailing date or be updated to the 5/31/22 sailing date to which they were applied.)

I was hoping that since my status will be signature I would get offers of junior suites instead of balcony.  Is your status masters or signature?

I have 5 offers listing balcony cabins which is strange because your offers are interior but then you received the junior suite offer.  I just can't figure their program out.

I'm Signature, although I've not gambled at anywhere near that level since a weekend cruise in February 2020. If I can keep Signature for another year, that'll be yet another win!

I also see the Wonder of the Seas junior suite offer. I've already got Symphony of the Seas coming up for the first two weeks in March (also from comped JS offers), so I think I can feel okay about passing up on that offer. 🙂

All my offers are balcony and no junior suite except for the junior suite plus $750 I earned on a November anthem cruise

Sorry in advance is this is a stupid question 🙂

We have two comped Central Park Balconies booked on the Oasis in June.  One is my offer so I am the main guest and the other is my husband Paul's.  We were chatting with some friends this weekend and it looks like they will be joining us.  We know to have one of them added as the guest to each room and then just visit guest services when we board and switch us around when boarding.

My question pertains to the drink package.  Both of our guests want the deluxe package.  Paul and I are both Prime and Diamond+ so we do not need or want it.  If I call, will they allow me to only buy the drink package for our guests with the understanding that once onboard, both people in that cabin  will actually have the package?

If not, I know they will let me buy refreshment packages for Paul and I.  Would I be able to get those cancelled and refunded as OBC once onboard?

Here is the letter that I mentioned above....the one that @ampurp85posted on the blog that indicates that the CR status is being extended another year.  Many thanks to her for posting this !!

Thanks for the post. After 35 cruises. We might be done if cruising does not return to normal. Wife has an auto-immune disease so no shot passport. Interestingly, maybe, she was on AIDS HIV task force in 80's. Along with you know who.

I just noticed we also received offers for Wonder sailings for Balconies on CR site.    I would love to check out the ship but the dates just don't work for us.     We are already booked for a b2b end of March.

That is great news they will extend the prime membership until march 31, 2023.     DH already made it to prime with over 5600 or 5800 points on his last cruise.    Who knows maybe he will reach Signature by end of March.   I am about 500 or 600 points shy of the normal 2500 points needed  but figured I could easily get on my upcoming b2b.    Looks like it is now 1500 for prime per the above letter, but the more points the better the offers.

Another day, another offer (22VAR302 below, if anyone's curious). My tier credits for the current period are much, much closer to 0 than the 25,000 I had earned to get to Signature back before all this current mishegoss. I have to wonder whether the offers will continue at this level (because "Signature") or reduce/dry-up (because tier points) for the year ahead.

These sailings are for the period from June through August 2022.

  • 22VAR301 - Comped JS (48 sailings, 5-8 nights)
  • 22VAR302 - Comped JS (36 sailings, 5-8 nights) or Balcony (15 sailings, 7-8 nights)
  • 22VAR303 - Comped Balcony (50 sailings, 5-8 nights)
  • 22VAR304 - Comped Balcony (13 sailings, 5-7 nights) or Interior (30 sailings, 5-8 nights)
  • 22VAR305 - Comped Interior (28 sailings, 5-8 nights)
  • 22VAR306 - Comped Interior (10 sailings, 5-7 nights)
  • 22VAR307 - $100 off your choice of stateroom (any sailing)

I don't know why things would change now....I have continued, over the past 2 years, to get offers based on my last sailing (which was pitiful (our sailing was cut from 8 nights to 5 due to the first COVID scare), BTW, which helps explain why my offers have SUCKED for the past 2 years) and my Prime status.  I would expect you to continue getting the same good offers that you have been getting !  That's really great news for you since you were not able to independently achieve Signature this casino year.  I hope everything stays in place for you for the next year and that you can get your points up where they traditionally are !!

My last sailing was Jan 2020. Have not sailed since. Now at 21 cancels and re-books. Now no bookings at all. The offers have steadily dropped for me. From Balcony/JS 7 days or more. To short sailings Ovw or Inside cabin. Not looking good.

Totally not understanding the wording here.

So I'm Prime from 2019 play, I've accumulated 500 points or so this year. Laura has accumulated the 2500 she thought she needed.

So I don't need to worry about the last 1000 points to keep my existing status? That is not what the Host on Harmony told me. Very confusing. Guess I'll call the Club Royale desk when I get home

That's the way I understand it...but I agree, it's very confusing.  According to what I read in the letter AND what I was told by the CR CSR, you will retain whatever status you last attained....so it seems as if you will both just keep going with your Prime status.

If you were not prime before cruising resumed and have accumulated 1500 points, you will become prime on April 1 for the club royale year (apr 1 - mar 31), however, if you accumulate 2500 points, you become prime immediately for the remainder of this year and then retain prime for next year.  If you are prime from pre Covid, you remain prime for this year and next year.  If you are prime right now and have accumulated 15,000 - 24,999 points, you are prime for the remainder of this year and will be upgraded to signature as of April 1.  So they are allowing you to retain your current status for another year with the ability to move up to the next level for lesser points because of the short year.

Hope this adds to the confusion!!!

Thanks, just not sure why the Host seems clueless. Probably to get me to keep playing😉

I think it's necessary to have an advanced degree in mathematics or (abnormal?) psychology to understand Royal Caribbean's rules sometimes. It may be beyond us mere mortals.

We were on the Harmony two weeks ago and the host did advise us when we checked points towards the end of the cruise that they had just received word that current tier levels would be maintained through March 2023.  Now I don't have to get roughly 8,000 points during my Oasis cruise in March to maintain my Signature status.  With all the posts this makes sense.  I just wish they would get me back on their emailing and offer list.  I haven't seen anything from CR in over a year but when I call they tell me I am eligible for many offers.

Have them check to see if your email is associated to other C&A numbers.  That is what keeps happening to us.  I think it happens when we book rooms for other people or put other people in our cabin with us. Our emails get associated to their C&A and it gums up the whole works

You, too? This is the first time someone has similarly described what happened to me as well. That really must be what’s happening. As a software engineer, I can imagine the database queries or programming logic that could easily fail here, but that RCI has such a horrible problem with their systems is baffling.

A few years ago, when I was doing one of my email address cleanup rounds with Crown & Anchor, along with my address on a few family members’ or friends’ accounts due to joint bookings, it was also on the account of a young woman, a complete stranger to me, who lived in Australia! I can’t figure out how that happened. My email address is at a custom domain used only by my immediate family. 🤔
