Rare rafinmd Posted December 2, 2016 #22 Share Posted December 2, 2016 Thank you all. Jacqui, the hot trend in luxury cruising these days seems to be massive space to passenger ratios. While the Odyssey is only 450 passengers she’s over 32,000 tons, more than 80% the size of the Prinsendam. What I need to see is how I will adapt to all those sea days without a Promenade Deck 80% as big. MMDown Under, sometimes I’m pretty good at putting together combinations, and sometimes it’s just dumb luck. I do make a habit of booking QM2 to Europe when I’ve planned a TA back to the US, but this time I fully expected to fly. I thought QM2's November 12 departure was just not close enough to my Seabourn cruise, when I just happened to notice QE’s itinerary. I wasn’t looking for it, and it came to my attention by a flyer I received when on QM2 in January. I call that pure dumb luck. I have established my thread on the Seabourn forum: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2420943 and will continue with the same blog as Cunard: http://getawaysfrom21044.wordpress.com That’s the blog I now kind of permanently use for “ordinary” trips. How decadent is it that this is classified as an “ordinary” trip. I also hope to keep my eyes peeled for the Rotterdam on December 19. Roy

Rare rafinmd Posted December 10, 2016 #24 Share Posted December 10, 2016 This may be as good a place to post as any. I was in Funchal yesterday where there seems to be a tradition of ships leaving messages on the sea wall. I noticed these: Roy
