So we have the cruise booked and I wanted to do the Check in. Both mine and the wife's passports are expired. We completed the passport renewal form this week end and along with the check off to the State Dept. Can I use are old passport info to check in? Do passport numbers stay the same or will our new passport have a differ number. Can I complete check in with out this info our should I just wait until our new passports arrive.

Thanks Matt

Complete check in by saying you have a birth certificate and it will skip the passport number - you can always go back in and put the new numbers in when you get them back.

This is what I have done in the past. If I am too lazy to go get them out of the safe or in a hurry. Then just give them your passport when you arrive at port. No issues at all.

4Cruisers.

Short story, neighbors were on Cruise 3 weeks ago. On tour in St. Kitts he fell, broke foot. Ship packed their stuff, had to fly home. No Passport. Took 4 days for embassy to get them home.

These things happen all the time. There are two messages in this little story.

Thanks for all the comments. With the new staggered check in / boarding times I did not know if completing the online check in early would help me get on the ship faster. IE a earlier check in time. Maybe ill try the birth certificate until our new passports arrive.

Completing your on-line check-in has nothing to do with being able to select a "check-in" time.

Once Carnival adds the select check-in time to your sailing, everyone can access it, regardless of whether your online check-in has been completed or not.

And getting the earliest check-in time does not guarantee you will get on the ship faster.

You can select the check in time as soon as you book. At least we could.

More problem if they had no travel insurance.
