warmwinds Posted September 17, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 17, 2018 Really? They don't print those anymore? My husband will be very disappointed, he'd go down to the guest relations area every morning and pick one up.
barneyboy Posted September 17, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 17, 2018 Yes I missed them on my cruise the first week of September Sent from my iPhone using Forums
GUT2407 Posted September 17, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 17, 2018 I liked them back in the day. Now the TV seems to offer enough.

Rare groryjm Posted September 17, 2018 #9 Share Posted September 17, 2018 Just back from Fjords on Silhouette and we had the Celebrity Today everyday in our room. Have they stopped on other ships?
skrapngal Posted September 17, 2018 #10 Share Posted September 17, 2018 I hope you are talking about newspapers and not the daily activities list (not sure what it is called on Celebrity, but it is the Compass on Royal).
bigbeergut Posted September 17, 2018 #11 Share Posted September 17, 2018 Nope. I can use the WiFi to stay in touch with the rest of the world.
rwb Posted September 17, 2018 #12 Share Posted September 17, 2018 What is this topic about? Has Celebrity stopped providing the four-page newsletters “Britain Today”, “USA Today”, “Canada Today” etc. ?
jasm8449 Posted September 17, 2018 #13 Share Posted September 17, 2018 Yes I believe it is the newspapers that they have stopped printing, not Celebrity Today. And yes I miss them. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare cruisestitch Posted September 17, 2018 #14 Share Posted September 17, 2018 We still had them on Solstice in August. Britain Today, USA Today, Canada Today.
Rare hcat Posted September 17, 2018 #15 Share Posted September 17, 2018 We read all of them daily, enjoy the sudoku and crossword puzzles. The news dailies give the headline and sports...would be missed by us. Internet is usually too slow for doing very much online like checking news and the TV is limited for news and weather. Xport Posted September 17, 2018 #16 Share Posted September 17, 2018 They daily news summaries had been discontinued--ostensibly to reduce paper waste--when I sailed Infinity in late May/early June... Not happy given the endless printed advertisements from the shops, the spa, the art auction, etc otherwise delivered--to one's stateroom--daily... bigbeergut Posted September 17, 2018 #17 Share Posted September 17, 2018 .... Internet is usually too slow for doing very much online like checking news and the TV is limited for news and weather. Really, when was your last experience with Celebrity WiFi? I think most people have had good experiences with the WiFi speed. I’ve been able to live stream football games, so it’s not a problem for me to read a newspaper

Didn't try to stream a movie or anything but for email, news, etc. it worked very well.

On the Reflection in August and that is what we were told. I miss them as it was a way to keep an eye on the news at home without having to login and use my wifi minutes. Would be nice if they could find a way to provide a free weblink to use.
miched Posted September 17, 2018 #22 Share Posted September 17, 2018 Are you referring to the daily paper on the ships? Is this another cutback as they want everyone to download and use the ap? Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Shame they don’t print the news summaries on the back of those advertisements, at least then they would be read before being put straight into the waste bin. awhfy Posted September 17, 2018 #25 Share Posted September 17, 2018 They were in Guest Relations every day at 1130 & don’t be there at 1135 because they’d be gone. They were in a revolving rack to the left of the Guest Relations desk on Eclipse Sent from my iPad using Forums
