Semi Retired Posted June 11, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2019 Im looking for our 1st Celebrity cruise as Diamond. I'm confused on if we are able to enter a club lounge for the happy hour drinks and access to a specialty coffee machine for our latte and mocka (or even access all day?). I did look at the loyalty program emenities on Celebrity website. No tik beside clubs, but tiks beside happy hour/3drinks on card and "coffee bar" (?). Can anyone claify for me? Orator Posted June 11, 2019 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2019 A Diamond on Royal Caribbean is an Elite on Celebrity and receives Elite benefits. Lots of threads on this topic.
bighairtexan Posted June 11, 2019 #3 Share Posted June 11, 2019 There is NO dedicated Diamond type lounge on Celebrity. They have nightly (almost nightly) Diamond plus events. Passed hors d'euvres, and a drink menu. You also normally get drinks loaded on your SeaPass card usable in most bars during the happy hour time period. Also no "coffee bar" for Diamond/Plus. If you're Zenith (the equivalent of Pinnacle) then you have access to Michael's Club/ Retreat Lounge which is fabulous. Full bar, snacks, etc.
awhfy Posted June 11, 2019 #4 Share Posted June 11, 2019 There isn’t a set aside room like Royal. No coffee machine (other than buffet) available all day. There is a morning continental breakfast that includes coffees (mochas, lattes, etc), mimosas bloody Mary’s from 8-10 usually in Tuscan Grille. Evening from 5-7 in Sky Lounge (normally. You’ll get a letter in your stateroom outlining everything, if you don’t get the letter go to Guest Services
39august Posted June 11, 2019 #5 Share Posted June 11, 2019 Pinnacle is just Elite on Celebrity, not Zenith. Would that it were!
CYNSport Posted June 11, 2019 #6 Share Posted June 11, 2019 I thought the highest match for reciprocity on Celebrity with a C&A status was Elite, regardless of the C&A status level.

You are correct. bighairtexan was mistaken highest reciprocity granted by Celebrity is Elite and likewise highest level granted by Royal is Diamond.
Rare cruisestitch Posted June 11, 2019 #8 Share Posted June 11, 2019 Pinnacle is the equivalent of Zenith, however there is no reciprocity making them equal across the lines. Pinnacle will be recognized as Elite and Zenith will be recognized as Diamond.
bighairtexan Posted June 11, 2019 #9 Share Posted June 11, 2019 I didn't mean to imply there was reciprocity. I wasn't mistaken. Pinnacle on RCI is the EQUIVALENT of Zenith on Celebrity. The highest level with some special accompanying perks. That is all that I meant and all that I said. Not implying it was a reciprocal status... Zenith to Pinnacle. EQUIVALENT not RECIPROCAL. Diamond on RCI is the highest reciprocal level you can get even if you're Zenith on X; and Elite is the highest you can get via being D/D+ or Pinnacle on RCI. The points don't combine (unlike Azamara and Celebrity points).

Welcome aboard flute of sparkling wine during embarkation. No inside smoking including the casino or on balconies, no rock climbing walls, no flow rider, no ice skating rink, no QUEST. You will be elite with 0 points. Call the Captains Club at 1-800-760-0654 to verify your status is documented. No 24 hour dedicated CC HH lounge for elite and elite plus. CC HH is from 5 PM to 7 PM in the Sky Lounge except the evening of embarkation. Unlimited CC HH drinks loaded on your Seapass card (except for the first evening) to enjoy at the bars except at the World Class Bar. CC HH drinks are not served in the dining venues. No buffet set up (like on RC) during CC HH in the Sky Lounge but servers serve snacks along with taking drink orders. Like RC you will receive in your stateroom a full list of all elite perks for your cruise. We enjoy cruising with both Celebrity and RC. We like the similarities and differences between the two cruise lines.
TeeRick Posted June 14, 2019 #11 Share Posted June 14, 2019 Although there is no dedicated Diamond Lounge equivalent with a coffee machine, many cruisers on Celebrity have a beverage package (unlike RCCL). If you have either a Classic or Premium package you can get coffee & tea at Cafe al Bacio. Also wine. They have a pastry case free to all that is a real treasure on board. https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/eat-and-drink/bars-and-lounges/al-bacio

ipeeinthepool Posted June 14, 2019 #13 Share Posted June 14, 2019 After you call the Captain's Club to get enrolled as a Captain's Club member you should contact your travel agent to confirm your Captains Club number is included on your reservation. One additional item to check is to see if you are eligible for the 1 cat upgrade. Or if you are happy with your current cabin you may be able to get a small savings by having them price your current cabin at the rate of the next lower cabin. There are restrictions but you may be able to save $30 - $50.
capsplace Posted June 14, 2019 #14 Share Posted June 14, 2019 (edited) The following is from the Celebrity website. It reflects one's Celebrity status, and the equivalent on Azamara and RCCL. It does not reflect one's RCCL status and the equivalent Celebrity status. You should review your RCCL website to find a similar analysis to determine what would be your equivalent Celebrity status. Based upon other remarks, sounds like it is Elite. That would makes sense seeing that the max status is Diamond on RCCL for a CC member who is Elite or above. Reciprocity Between Brands Equivalent recognition is one of the benefits of being a Captain's Club, Crown & Anchor Society and/or Le Club Voyage loyalty member. It offers loyalty members the opportunity to receive recognition and similar Celebrity benefits with matching tier status–both pre-cruise and onboard–when sailing with one of the three brands. Members of one loyalty program must enroll in a sister program in order to receive equivalent recognition benefits. Points on Celebrity and Azamara are earned cumulatively in both loyalty programs. For example, 20 Club Points earned on a Celebrity sailing will be reflected as 20 points in both Celebrity's and Azamara's loyalty programs. The total Club Points for the member will reflect all qualified points earned. Points earned on Royal Caribbean are earned only for the Royal Caribbean loyalty program. Points of each loyalty program cannot be added together. Points are calculated using the applicable brand's program level accrual system. The following program levels are equivalent for loyalty program recognition purposes: Preview Azamara LeClub Voyage: Preview Classic Azamara LeClub Voyage: Adventurer Select Azamara LeClub Voyage: Explorer Royal Caribbean Crown & Anchor Society: Platinum Elite Azamara LeClub Voyage: Discoverer Royal Caribbean Crown & Anchor Society: Diamond Elite Plus Azamara LeClub Voyage: Discoverer Plus Royal Caribbean Crown & Anchor Society: Diamond Zenith Azamara LeClub Voyage: Discoverer Platinum Royal Caribbean Crown & Anchor Society: Diamond Edited June 14, 2019 by capsplace

Servers come around with trays of different items. We've attended these evening events for several years and no longer take any of the canapés due to our lack of interest and not wanting to get too full prior to dinner. But, we each have our own preferences. If this will be your first time, then you will likely want to maximize your experience.

I am not going to overeat, but we booked our dinners later.. at 7 and 8pm, so some bites will be nice. Especially with drinks. 🙂

No comparison. Also Celebrity is going more toward drink coupons (loaded on your seapass card) that can be used at any bar. Some of those might have a bowl of snacks if you ask.

The programs are reciprocal up to elite and diamond so you get to enjoy each others perks/benefits. Some may believe that the grass is greener on the other side(?). We cruise with both Celebrity and Royal but aren't loyal to either. We like the similarities and the differences between the two lines. Variety is the spice of life. The worlds population is constantly increasing. As a result numbers of cruisers are increasing. These cruisers are ageing. These older cruisers grow tired with a brand they've done to death and look for a new brand more appropriate to their increased years. At least that's what I imagine. Rare hcat Posted June 15, 2019 #24 Share Posted June 15, 2019 Interesting We used to cruise on both lines almost equally. Decided to stick with X to move up in the loyalty program but still enjoyed Navigator, Radiance etc. Then Royal started with the much bigger ships. Tried Oasis but just not a good fit for us from dining to needing tickets for shows and events, although we did like the cocktail hour buffet. Other than a special itin of family vacation with kiddos, doubt we would go back to Royal. We liked EDGE but hope the newer and bigger E Class shops are not overly Royalized! kearney Posted June 15, 2019 #25 Share Posted June 15, 2019 I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this... but get Elite benefits... you need to sign up for Captains Club... that way it will show up on your sea pass that you are Elite. Another benefit is a one cabin upgrade... so if you want a 1A cabin... you will be charged at the rate for a 2A cabin (as I recall).... savings not usually as good as Royal's discount for balcony... but it is still worth noting when booking. Instead of 24 hours of internet... Elite gets 90 minutes... which can be used a bit at a time (we use this to just check email a few times on the cruise). On S class ship... I really like the Captains cocktail hours in the Sky lounge... it is a nice setting and significantly larger than diamond lounge on Royal ships... although as part of the 'revolution' they are taking part of that space for suites.
