Unknown OBC - X BON VOYAGE???

I was looking for something in my personalizer and found an entry for one of my upcoming cruises that I knew nothing about. Under the Onboard Reservations tab there are two entries for very small amounts of OBC. I have no idea why they are there. Does anybody know what X BON VOYAGE is all about?

The first one might be from your TA😁, one of your friends🤔 or Princess if you booked directly🤥.

 

The second one is because you probably gambled on one of your earlier cruises.

Did you book a Bon Voyage Experience? Since they are cancelling all of them after 6/30, I recall that they would be issuing some credits and/or refunds for them. The "X Bon Voyage" and the small amount make me think it's somehow tied to that.

We didn't book a BVE. We did book through a TA. He always gives us a nice discount off the price but doesn't do any OBC. I've never seen this type of OBC and we have booked 11 cruises through the same TA. I did "gamble" a tiny bit on the last cruise. I donated around $50 to the slots. (I don't really consider it gambling as that implies that I might possibly win. I never, ever, win. I don't expect to win and would be shocked if it were the case. I donate to the slots for a different reason which shall remain unstated.)

 Most things in my Personalizer showed bon voyage on them beginning a couple of weeks before my cruise.

Sometimes these seem like random credits but there is usually a reason. One year we were on a casino rate with casino cash and an additional $12 showed up just turned out to be a thank you from the casino. This year our 15 day cruise got moved about 10 days late than the original date about 1 1/2 year out and everyone got a $15 credit. I will take all the credits large or small

Did you refer a friend? If so when the friend cruises he(she) receives $25 and $25 goes into your account for a future cruise.

I think the first one is a loyalty reward. After so many cruises you get some OBC.

Yes, I referred several but they don't cruise until next year and you don't get credit until they actually sail.

I always use FCD but one doesn't get any OBC simply for buying one. It has to be used as deposit and I'm already getting that OBC. 

 

I'm happy to take the free money I'm just surprised to find it there and, as I said, have no idea what the X BON VOYAGE is all about. I'm sure it's not from my TA. He already gave me a large cash discount. I guess I'll just chalk it up to "freebies from Princess" and be happy.

My TA gives me extra OBC in addition to a very nice cruise fare discount. I think this is a TA gift of extra OBC that they noted as “Bon Voyage” (happy sailing) and not to be confused with the Bon Voyage Experience.

Okay. I called Princess and asked them to send me a list of OBC I had applied (aside from FCD, Shareholder, etc.)

 

I had previously called and applied three $50 e-cards from the MOM50 promo. I also called and tried to apply four of the $25 e-cards from the DAD25 promo. The woman doing that transaction totally screwed it up. Instead of doing four separate transactions she tried to do it as a single transaction with 4 cards. Halfway through she bombed it out and said she was going to cancel the whole thing and start over again. She got two cards entered and found that her original screw up had removed the funds from the other two cards. I'm still waiting for those funds to be restored - Princess says it can take up to 15 business days. GAH!!! They were appalled she had done such a bizarre transaction but said all I can do is wait for the funds to be restored to the card. (I just now checked online and the cards still show a zero balance.)

 

The info they sent me now shows that the two "weird" OBC amounts I asked about do appear to be from the two $25 cards the woman managed to apply. Why they are listed that way is beyond me. I'm further confused because this also shows one of the $50 cards listed as Bon Voyage! but it does not show up in the items I pasted at the beginning of this thread. Perhaps because it is listed as being from me rather than an unknown gift marked as X. (This explains the X BON VOYAGE I guess.) I have no clue what they are doing. Hopefully I will eventually get my other $50 restored. I really have no idea why she applied them this way - especially applying one as a Casino Credit. A totally bizarre Princess employee. I hope to never deal with her again.

Thrak make sure you go to the casino and open an account for that casino credit.  It doesn't get applied to your folio like the other OBC.

That is interesting that your gift card application of obc shows on your personalizer. We used most all of ours to pay for our cruise, but received a surprise $50 gift card from the Mom50 purchases so I applied it as obc to my fathers booking. I was told it would not show on his personalizer anywhere, but would show once on board. I will be printing the email confirmation of purchase in case this does not happen.  I wonder if the rep I spoke to did the transaction differently than your successful rep. I have looked at both Reservations and Purchases, and only have the chocolate strawberries our TA bought for each cabin, and in the credits and payments section, only his other obc (military, booking promo and TA group promo)

Very odd indeed. Of course only the two cards applied by the "unusual" woman show on the personalizer. The guy trying to sort things out for me was having a heck of a time figuring out what she had done.
