I watched A Current Affair last night. They featured died-in-the-wool cruisers who were saying they have no hesitation in cruising again in the future.

I have noticed in the past that if channel 7 takes sides in something considered newsworthy, channel 9 will often taken an opposing view.

It happened a lot when 7 had This Day Tonight up against 9's A Current Affair. Deja vu?

The couple who appeared on A Current Affair are really keen cruisers - 140 or so cruises and 21 more cruises booked! They beat us.🙂 BTW, we are ready and keen to cruise when cruises start up again.

We’ve had a terrible morning, first of all my husband had put his white Ford Ute out on the roadway as we were expecting a tradie. About 9.15am, a white Holden Ute flew up the street, I thought it was neighbour across the road’s son so didn’t think too much about it. Then I noticed that this Ute had stopped beside Rob’s and some one was getting back in the car. Rob raced outside to see what was going on but the car roared off. His rego plates were both gone! He rang the police and we are waiting for them to come - from the station where son in law is a sergeant. Then because I was using my laptop reading CC posts, I put it on the floor to go go and see what was happening and Rob stood on it when he came back in. It looks like the screen is damaged. It’s not working now.

Oh no! Jeez, there are some ratbags around. They need to bring in some stiffer penalties for people who do things like that. If there is no serious deterrent then it will just keep on happening. The worst IMHO, at the moment especially, are "porch thieves" who steal goods delivered to homes.

Elective — procedure can be planned in advance (most other things). In Australia elective surgery has 3 sub-sections related to how quickly a more serious outcome can be expected. Plus cat 4 of no current action.

How brazen in broad daylight!  Sorry to hear that your number plates were stolen, then your computer got stood on in the panic.  Ask the local police about the special screws they put on number plates to make it difficult to steal them.  Police have done this locally at Senior Events.

Is this schedule under the public hospital?  My visits to public hospital have always been emergency, so I get taken right in, with no queue.

You can also get security screws from Bunnings. I've used them when fitting fly screens to windows. They need a special drill bit and Bunnings have them too. There are different types and the random numberplate thief is unlikely to have the correct bit. Thieves will just go for the quick and easy straight slot or phillips head screws.

Those screws were on my husband’s plates. But the thieves were able to get them off, a special tool used perhaps?

If the tools or drill bits are available at Bunnings then it's highly likely the thieves have them. It sounded too slick to be a one-off theft.

It would take time for the thieves to work out which bit to use as there are slight differences between them. The vehicle may have been targeted so they probably already knew the type of bit to use, i.e. the police type. They may have a similar vehicle (model, colour) lined up on which to put the plates, possibly already stolen and/or unregistered.

No 3  - We found out this morning that an old friend passed away a few days ago. He had his wife and son had moved to Nambucca Heads about 10 years ago. He wife died a couple of years later.

Thanks you for your kind thoughts to those who posted. Much appreciated. I think at this time when we are all feeling a little vulnerable, the death of someone you know really hits you hard. 
 

My daughter was in tears because the card we posted to her for her upcoming birthday, we have never had to post her birthday card before.

Oh dear Leigh ...what a morning.....  I hope things improve somewhat ..I went to see the pain specialist yesterday and he suggested that from now on my treatment will be in the way of palliative care IE we treat the symptoms and do not try to cure the issue , he says because of my age and medical issues this is the way to go and we concentrate on obtaining the best quality of life outcomes  ... my legs have been bandaged again and they have used a matrix style dressing that has an  antibiotic built into it and when is removed does not pull on the skin , I think they use it for burns anyway I go back on Friday to see how they are going ..

We have decided that we are going to use the Norspan Patch system again but with modified duration using each patch for 3 days only rather than seven days and I am allowed up to 2 endone a day plus panadol osteo and a couple of other things .

The doctor agreed  that we could potter our way north to see grandkids as soon as the virus allows but he thought that the international boarders would remain closed for a long time (years)  He also said he thought we could eradicate the virus in Australia 

VIP;er and Elsie have been out to see TOOTSIE this morning  so have had a short break out from confined to barracks  

Oh Dear I hope the police catch the ratfink that caused you so much grief.....

Bad news about your laptop too.

Thank you. Definitely ratbags or the words I used which can’t be used here! 
 

Porch thieves are just the lowest! We have had a few deliveries lately but fortunately have been home. 
 

The laptop can be replaced, not worth getting fixed. It wasn’t expensive. We only got rid of our PC a few months ago. Oh well, smart phone will work ok for most of what I need to do.
