Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

I am surprised the search and rescue was used for a disabled boat.  In Florida, they won't come to help you unless you are sinking!  😮   Boaters are told to call Tow Boat US or Sea Tow (2 commercial towing companies that make some major $$ for that service 😉 ).

Maybe there was some confusion on what was the nature of the emergency.  The ambulance showed up, but was sent away after a while.

As a Long Island resident I can tell you that every town has its own rules.A right turn on red was permissible in many towns but recently many put up signs reading no turn on red.

About 25 years ago I was driving in NYC and made a left turn at an intersection that I had made the same turn on hundreds of times.

On that particular day I failed to notice a small sigh that read no turns between 2 and 5 PM on weekdays.

It’s the old saw “Ignorance of the law is no excuse”.

It would have been nice if I had gotten a warning. I was driving a car with a Florida tag and had a Florida drivers license.
I think the police officer thought I was making up my own rules.
BTW, it must have been around 1958…I don’t know if any place on Long Island allowed rights on red then.

They definitely were not giving "slow rides".

We will be working our way up to those “crack the whip” rides.  Don’t want them to get scared too soon.  They will learn to push that envelope and come away laughing. 😁

I'm getting caught up here after spending money on that expensive hobby the last 4 days

Went through all that when my son was growing up.  Traveling to regional and national golf tournaments, pro lessons and golf school.  I have an attic full of trophies, because he never took them with him.

He was good enough to make it to Junior Amateurs at Muirfield Village.  That is a beautiful course.

I moved to LI in 2003 .I wasn’t driving anywhere in 1958 .I assume that there were no towns allowing turning on red at that time.

It has been a long but lovely day around the English Lake District today.

We had lunch at the Bellsfield hotel in Bowness then had a good walk around the lake.

Afterwards we walked around the lovely Grasmere village where Wordsworth lived.

Today it was sunny with a high of 85°F.

I hope everyone had a nice day too.

@island lady Thank you so much.  We have only been to Falmouth twice and the port wasn't finished the first time around.

Graham, it looks so picturesque!  As always lunch looks good!  I'm surprised Pauline got so close to the swan.  Here the swans are what you might call grouchy.  No chance of me getting near one.

Excellent!  I'm sure you will have an amazing cruise.  Maybe you'll see Capt Kate and Bugs.   😺

Enjoy and if you get a chance send us photos.

Thanks. I am looking forward to meeting them both.

Belize has become a "stay on the ship" stop for us this last time.

My brother-in-law and wife likes to scuba dive so each summer they pick a place to vacation for a month. 3 years ago they spent a month in Belize.  They had a great time.  It’s a bit different finding what to at a place you stop at for a short day compared to a month. The way I understand they stay at these places for a month because you are limited on how much you should scuba dive.  They will scuba dive for awhile and then explore the area they are staying.  They started a YouTube channel showing different places.  He’s a history teacher so he loves exploring historical places.

Another busy day. Got to sleep into 6am. Then drove around collecting all the cookies that family and friends baked for the wedding. Most of my friends still work so we coordinated gathering spots. Worked out well.

But somehow I always feel behind. But getting so excited as the DD and future Husband are walking tall and proud into their future.

Today at 9 had my hair appointment. Nice colors put in. Was not permitted any green , red , or purple. I kinda like the bottle I picked. “Summer slut blonde”

  Then off to Venue.

Busy busy.

So nice to see you out and about, G&P.

It looks like Covid was a bad dream.... and it's not even July 19th.

Happy for you two 🥰

Thanks Dani.

We wear masks indoors and social distance from others indoors too.

I heard that is color goes well with thigh high red boots but since the color red is out, maybe black boots?

Rest up, I'm guessing you won't be sleeping in until 6AM tomorrow.
