I am starting the day with an earache that started not long ago when I had my ears cleaned.  Never had pain getting them cleaned in the past, but this time, when my left ear was cleaned it felt like it was "zapped" a bit too strong.  It created an OUCH moment.  I should have gone back the next day but thought it would ease up eventually.  It didn't.

I just hope nothing was damaged permanently.  My hearing is almost shot in that ear to begin with.  Being fitted for new hearing aids next week.  Yes!

Sorry for starting the morning off with such a "yuchy" topic but Jack is still sleeping and I needed to vent somewhere! 👂

I had to get hearing aids a few years ago after going to a gun range with inadequate ear covering. Even before that wife said I was deaf , have a really good ENT in Carrollton Nicole Bryan.

My wife just had a hit and run accident on her new car , earlier this year same thing, but this time she got the license plate, need to get a car camera installed, just very minor damage and she is fine .

A range of emotions. Happy she is ok and angry that the perp got away. Glad she got the license plate.

Yesterday, on our way back to PA, we stopped at a large outdoor shopping complex called Easton Town Center.  It is on the outskirts of Columbus, Ohio. It was sunny and 85° while we wandered around there.

Grabbed a bite at The Cheesecake Factory.  They actually make a pretty decent Cuban sandwich.

All the stores there were under a masking order, and we got yelled at by staff as soon as we entered CF.  I guess this will get us ready for our cruise.

We stopped at the Lego store to find one of those toys that are impossible to find.  Daughter wanted us to pick one up for the grandson, and it shows it for only $29 at the Lego store.  You can get it for $65 on Amazon or EBay, but she doesn’t want to spend that much. Of course, they are sold out at the store.

We did find these few lego creations outside the store.

Haven’t posted a lake picture for a while. Here is one from this morning’s walk.

Got flu shots this morning, picked up supplies, and doing spa maintenance.

Now to get serious about getting things ready for our cruise.  We fly (hopefully) a week from today.

I have no doubt that your daughter will be celebrating a wonderful birthday. You and your family will be in my thoughts for a wonderful outcome.

Thank you so very much,Greg.

Close to us as well.  Bucky retired at age 58, me at age 54 one year later.  Was going to wait until 55, but Bucky asked me to retire early.  He didn't like the stress he was now first hand witnessing, with what I was going through with the career I had.  Plus he told me "I don't have anyone to play with!".  😄

OK...no real arm twisting was needed there...was happy to comply!  😉

Sever years prior to my retirement a friend who was retired and bored started a business and tried to get me to join him .However,it was in a field that I never worked in and it made no sense to me to leave my job. After I retired I was bored and I called my friend and asked if he still wanted me to join his company. He said yes and I worked with him for 4 years. He brought people in from various backgrounds none who ever worked in his environment which was Advertising.

Among the people working there were a retired Journalist ,a Psychologist ,a Classical Composer and a very well known author.

It was a wonderful experience .

Uh oh.  My sister who is triple vaxxed might have covid.  She took a rapid test as a precaution when she went in for sinus and throat issues a few days ago.  Rapid test came back negative.  However, now she doesn't have a sense of smell or taste so back to the doctor this morning who took another covid test, this time not the rapid one. She should get the results in 3 days.

My sister was with her 2 married kids, grandkids and a bunch of friends these last few days.  All double vaxxed.  We were supposed to have lunch with her and BIL but in hindsight we're glad we couldn't make it.  I told her IF she has covid in all probability she won't feel any worse than she does now. Those vaccines really do help lower the severity.

She's freaking worried.  I don't blame her 😟

Hopefully she will be fine,Bonnie.

I have not been having many problems with CC lately.  I typically come here using a Windows Edge browser on my PC, and will also use Edge on my iPhone as well.  I'm saying that for completeness as I doubt that matters??  Maybe once a week, I'll need to refresh the page to allow me to like a post.  I don't think Edge is any better than Safari or Chrome, but each one is slightly different in how they support some of the more advanced HTML code used in web pages.

I've seen it posted here before but don't remember...what's the underlying software that CC uses?  I'll see if I can do a little digging and find out if there are issues with that software.

Invision Community.  CC has a link to it below.  It’s the same software used by RC blog.

Thank God Shelagh is okay.  Shook up, and probably mad as hell, but she's okay.

We had verizon fios for internet and 3 tv connections and were paying 198.75 a month and 2yr  contract was up in august and new bill was $229.

Comcast just had a promotion for internet only for 2 years at $29.99 plus $14 to rent their galaxy router also includes a free 4k streaming box.   new total with tax will be 45.73  I ordered this past weekend and was surprised how quick they came out and on time too!

At home we have dish tv which I love and pay around $125 a month with showtime, cinemax, epix and occasional specials on hbo for $5 a month.   We have comcast internet and I have to check but I think we pay around $65

Sorry for rambling on.

Thank you, Debbie!  When we moved here, we couldn't get Verizon, due to all of the trees on our property, next door trees, and the woods behind our property.  So, it's been comcast/infinity, and their prices just kept going higher and higher.  That's when we decided to just get internet.  Which, to me, is pricey at the rate of $125.88.  Once December arrives, I'm sure we'll be seeing another increase.

Thankfully, our cable is included in our maintenance fee in Florida;  internet costs us around $35 or so.

I hope you don’t mind my trip down memory lane. It was your comment about visiting Greenport that caused me to think of what a lovely village it was about fifty years ago. I am glad that you and Toby were able to enjoy your trips there.

      Take care

MJ 🙋🏻

So many happy memories!!  That's what this thread brings to us all, as we all recall our many experiences whenever anyone brings up a certain person,  place, period of time, etc.

Bonnie, I sure hope there isn't any damage, and that you are starting to feel less pain by now.

Speaking of football, Owen is all dressed up for game day.  I haven't seen him so dressed up since graduation day.  Hopefully they do well today.

I told him I will be cheering for the other team, because that is where I went to high school.  He just laughed at me.

Owen is such a handsome young man!

Jim was 52 when he retired after 30 years on the job as a FDNY firefighter.  I retired 2 months later, at the age of 50.
