Everyone here is thinking of you and your family and are here for you. ❤️ Thank you ❤️ It was really more about spending time with her mom & me and the rest of the family. There are still a few long-shot avenues to go down first before any decision. Her daughter has made it clear, in the most loving way, that the ultimate decision is mine and only mine to make and she will support me 1000% either way. That's the kind of trust we have.

I brought up the storage tubs from basement to put christmas tree ornaments, etc in but didn't start yet. Instead I baked a cheesecake while doing laundry and packing.

I got some nice birthday gifts but one stood out, to which I can share with you. A British comedian, named Chris Turner, that I follow on YouTube ends his routines with an impromptu freestyle rap. He takes 5 suggestions from the audience and then does one right on the spot. Lisa got him to do one for my birthday, and it was well worth the money spent. Here is the one he did for me. Lisa sent him 5 suggestions and had a limit of characters that she could type. He did an amazing job. Turn up the volume and enjoy. That is awesome. Thank you for sharing the video. How nice Lisa was to be able to arrange this special gift. Sounds like you had an amazing birthday with lots of delicious food. 😍

Storms rolled in last night and it has not stopped raining since. Flood warnings all around. It is an ugly rainy day here too. Last night our town put out luminaries along our streets. Driving over the bridge tunnel must have been a nightmare. And even worse for your wife. I’d rather be driving myself so I don’t worry Dick might lose control. So I sit with my eyes looking forward, backward, and both sides, concentrating on keeping us safe. Yup, it was nuts, thought pretty much this was the end of us. We were trying to get to the end and it was just getting darker and darker and then the lightning flash would light up the whole area on both sides and then get crazy dark again and my wife is saying pull over and like you know there really is no where to pull over safely you just have to keep going. You are pretty much at the point of no return.......:( We did get to pull over one time, stopped at a Burger King south of the Dover speedway. Everyone inside the Burger King looks scared to death. We asked what's wrong, they said a Tornado was forecasted for the Dover area. We said wow we just drove through there. We decided lets get back in our car and head south, so it doesn't catch up to us. In hindsight I think that wasn't a very good idea. I think we should have stayed put for the night One of the reason we went that way besides we thought it would be cool to see is because that is the area where the cruise ships sail over when you cruise out of Baltimore. (Chesapeake Bay Bridge) I don't think we would EVER take that route again no matter what !! Edited January 1, 2022 by Jimbo

I’ve gone to dinner on New Year’s Eve with 3 to 5 friends for years. Dick doesn’t really like eating out, and his idea of celebrating is watching football! Being senior citizens, my friends and I eat at 6, and I’m home by 8:30. Up till a couple of years ago, when there were at least 5 of us, we would play Mexican Train after dinner. Wild and crazy old ladies! I want you all to know how very much I appreciate every one of you. Dani’s group has enriched my life, allowing me to share my ups and downs with you all, and letting me share yours. I hope we will all be together to see many more New Years begin. Attached is a photo from last night. I’m the slightly battered old lady in the right forefront. We were all surprised at the size of our portions…agreeably surprised. So today I have to eat black eyed peas, pork, rice and greens, for good luck, good health and prosperity in the new year, and tomorrow I’ll finish my really good ribeye steak and loaded baked potato. What a lovely tradition. You all look like you're having loads of fun. Happy New Year 🥳

The last time we stayed on 10, somehow we got stuck in an exit lane and wound up in a parking lot with no idea of where we were, or how we got there. we sat there a long time and decided the storm was stuck over our heads. We drove out of the parking lot and tried to figure out how we got there. We finally saw a man, soaking wet, crossing the street. Dick jumped out and ran over to him to ask where I10 was. By the time he got back into the car he was soaked. Luckily it was July, so I didn’t have to turn the heat on. The chances of having it storm again driving through Houston were too high to risk it again.

Oh my! My very first real date was with Mark, who rang my bell, met my parents and took me to the movies to see the original "West Side Story", It was shown in a movie theater in Manhattan on 14th Street on the same block as the Academy of Music theater, close to Klein's Dept. Store. After the movie, we went for ice cream sodas on 1st Avenue and after that, I got my first real kiss at my door. Let me be perfectly clear; my first REAL kiss. We had one more date after that and our romance fizzled out. For some weird reason, I wasn't devastated. I do however think of that date with extreme fondness. Thanks for bringing it all back to me.
