It was super special to him and he absolutely loved the RANGERS. His jersey matched the American flag that was on his casket. He had season tickets in the blue seats where all the fun was. We were given tickets once by the glass and it was nice, but blue seats are where all the action is. lol My sister in law passed away from cancer a couple of years ago , she was a huge Buffalo Sabers fan, while in a cancer hospital in Buffalo Dominick Hasek visited her , she was told he spends lots of time there .
George C Posted May 12, 2022 #57427 Share Posted May 12, 2022 Just got out of my pool perfect weather sunny in 90’s , pool water was 84. We had pool replastered late last year so today was my first day in it. Used my rccl beach towel which we got on our allure cruise because we are diamond plus. Should be able to use pool until mid October.

Nah, they weren't allowed to talk to them. Nephew and his ex-fiance got two female cats for his mother and named them: Beezer and Duguay. Funny when she tells me Beezer did this and Duguay did that. They're girls!!! Beezer was my daughter and son -in-laws first dog and my pal

Rare aussielozzie18 Posted May 13, 2022 #57440 Share Posted May 13, 2022 (edited) Good morning, had a very nice day trip today to the Leura in the Blue Mountains. It’s a lovely little village with a Main Street of shops & cafes. There are walks and lookouts nearby and plenty of autumn colour right now. walking from the train station, this tearoom/museum caught our eye. Whilst waiting for the delish fresh scones, jam and cream to be served, had a good look at the many many teapots on display. Rare aussielozzie18 Posted May 13, 2022 #57441 Share Posted May 13, 2022 (edited) After scoffing our scones & tea, we continued walking to our destination - Everglades Historic House and Gardens. Thirteen Acres of gardens and native bush land. Beautiful lookout to Jamison Valley and a grotto pool. Rare aussielozzie18 Posted May 13, 2022 #57442 Share Posted May 13, 2022 In 1932 a Belgium industrialist purchased a section of overgrown orchard and bush in Leura with fabulous views over Jamison Valley. The following year, he commissioned Danish born landscape designer Paul Sorensen to create a garden at his weekender. 14
Rare aussielozzie18 Posted May 13, 2022 #57443 Share Posted May 13, 2022 There is a gallery onsite and the current exhibition is by five local textile artists taking inspiration from the Blue Mountains and the gardens & bush of Everglades.
Rare aussielozzie18 Posted May 13, 2022 #57444 Share Posted May 13, 2022 (edited) The moderne-style house was built in 1935-6. The volunteer at the entrance who gave us a map of the grounds after we paid the $15pp entrance fee, told us it was Art Deco and we must have a look at the bathrooms especially the shower as the industrialist had it built to cater for his height. My son is 6’2’. I think he would appreciate the location of the shower head… Edited May 13, 2022 by aussielozzie18 12
Rare aussielozzie18 Posted May 13, 2022 #57445 Share Posted May 13, 2022 (edited) Cant post without a bird or two photo. After a week of rain, it was lovely that the morning fog cleared and the sun actually came out in the late afternoon. Operated by the National Trust, Everglades with it’s beautiful grounds & bush valley views is well worth a visit if you are ever in Sydney and plan a trip to The Blue Mountains. Rare h20skibum Posted May 13, 2022 #57446 Share Posted May 13, 2022 I had one of my long posts go poof yesterday. Got to love CC sometimes. Anyhow, I was posting a few things we found as we wandered around the airport before our flight. When I first saw an Escape Pod, so many things came to mind. The intended use is for a quiet office space, if you have to get some work done. Me, I never like working in closets. Cost $10 for 15 minutes. Does it lock you in and make you pay more if you overshoot your time? Well, after escaping your pod, you might be stressed, so head over to Presley’s Place. Well, it isn’t Graceland, but it says you can destress here. Maybe it is just me, but I wouldn’t want to be with 48 other people trying to destress. Then, they have this (which they had to label that is is not actually an x-ray machine. I just used it to see how my pre-cruise diet went. Looks like I can eat and drink as much as I want now. 🤣 Not exactly airport related, but we found some interesting clouds on our way. Hope everyone has a safe Friday the 13th. 8 1

The noises of the airport, crowds, music, etc are triggers for many people, especially those with autism. It is great that they offer someplace for those who need to a more quiet environment. 7

Sorry to hear about your SIL. I'm guessing that you're talking about Roswell Park Cancer Center. My nephew unfortunately spent a lot of time there battling Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Roswell is a fantastic place and he kicked cancer's ass. He's now in med school at the University at Buffalo to become an oncologist (he's in impressive kid). While at Roswell, he also met Hasek, and later was invited to be part of a ceremonial puck drop before a Sabres game. Roswell is especially good with kids who are fighting cancer. Hasek is a legend in Buffalo (I'm still mad about the 1999 Stanley Cup "non-goal") and for him to spend his time at Roswell is an incredible boost to someone's spirits, at a time when they need a lot of boosting.
