I hope the tickets were not for last night's show. It rained like crazy.

That is is ridiculous. I have lost respect for any artist that would gouge their fans for that much money.

Linda and I had a very fun afternoon at the Tiki Huna. It's set in a bunch of container bars and shops in an area called the Iron District in North Kansas City.

Great guy and was so interesting to talk to about his knowledge of music and Tiki.

Vincentown Diner, Intersection of Rt 206  & Rt 38 Southampton, NJ 08088..........I assume you are taking the NJ Turnpike, you would get off at Exit 7 and head south on Rt 206 for about 13 miles one way from the Exit.

Thank you. Yes, we’re doing the Turnpike both ways.
I’ve gotten new maps from AAA so I’ll spread the Northeastern one out on the dining room table and find the route.
Dick lets me navigate and I take complete advantage to go where I want to go.
Like going over the Golden Gate into San Francisco and then over the Oakland Bay Bridge to continue from the coast to Trucker. I just wanted to be in San Francisco one more time.

Today, we are watching our granddaughter, while her brother and a friend are at a card show in Monroeville.

Granddaughter wanted to make blueberry muffins, so she did it all from start to finish.

Meanwhile, grandson and his friend met Hines Ward.  I think he was one of my favorite Steelers, because he was always smiling.

The boys go lucky! Meet Hines Ward, get a photo taken with him, get a autograph, and top it off with muffins made with love by a pretty girl!

what a day!

I think this fits into a new level of crazy, in my book.

So who is to blame for this?  I say the idiot father.  Sure, his previous ticket purchase fell through, but it was his choice to pay a scalper this much just because he wanted the pleasure of making his teenage daughter happy.  I have no sympathy for this guy and I feel sorry for his daughter.

Seems to me that if my dear friend truly appreciated her fans that she would not want a father to be in the position of having to spend that kind of money to make his daughters happy. Maybe it is her fans' money that she truly appreciates.

I also don't think much of a kid who would want a parent to spend that kind of money. Seem very selfish to me.

Just wait to see how much the daughter’s wedding costs.

It’s actually the ticket resellers that are doing this.

I wouldn't exactly blame the seller for tickets costing that much, I would more like blame the buyers who buy tickets at those prices. Believe me if nobody buys at those prices, the prices would be alot lower and more reasonable.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out AAA still prints spiral bound "trip tiks".  Of course, GPS technology has taken over, but I still like to have a map in my hand with information I don't get using a GPS.  It came in very handy for our car trip down to Miami.

After being in Virginia for 2 and half years this morning we finally  made it to Big Waker Lookout. It's 100 ft high but seems much higher.

From the tower you can actually see 5 states. Virginia ,Kentucky,West Viginia, North Carolina and TN.

Took a few pictures, most not very good.  It was a little hazy when we were there early this morning. Still an awesome view from the tower.

Bob, what can u tell "us" about your daughter's wedding preparations? 😉

Thanks for asking Dani.  We're sort of in a holding pattern.  Everything is booked, and I just need to make final payment on a few things.  We just booked a duck pin bowling bar for the night after the wedding for my daughter's friends to all gather and have a good time.  I've probably said it before, but I'm just the banker.  My daughter is the planner.  She has done a great job of designing a fantastic wedding while not "breaking the bank".

Is it your grandson or his friend that is asking one of the Steeler greats for an autograph while wearing a Bengals hat?  Gutsy kid!

That definitely looks like my kind of place!  How are you enjoying the Smuggler's Cove book?  I've seen several YouTube bartenders recommend it as the best Tiki book out there.

Today was a great day to go golfing.  Micheline and I had an early tee time, and both played well.  I had my second best score of all time (despite a $%@# double bogey on the 18th hole) and Micheline beat her best score by 2 strokes.  Golf is always more fun when you play well.  😁  Here is one of my favorite views on the course, overlooking the ocean from the par 3 16th hole.

Where is Vincent’s Diner? We’ll be stopping somewhere in NJ on our way home from Maine. Dick would rather eat in a diner than just about any other restaurant.

I realize now I had a typo or autocorrect got me.

Vincentown Diner is off Rt 206 which is about a 15 to 20 minute drive from exit 7 of the NJ turnpike.

Lots of great diners in NJ.

I remember years ago making a little extra money in my free time driving limousine. I picked up two moms with their two 12 year old girls for a Justin Bieber concert in Vancouver. They paid $1500 for each ticket and the limo cost was $480 plus tip. I remember thinking that that was ridiculously extravagant. $21000 for tix is inconceivable.

As some who has paid for one I can tell you not a lot of restraint is exercised by daughter or mother!  This man has set the bar high. He’s either obscenely wealthy or in big trouble come wedding time.
