That's right you are doing 2 or 3 weeks on Odyssey?  That will be awesome.  I like their itineraries.   If you stop in casino you can meet the Royal Caribbean Dude, Chris I think is his name.    I hope you and Mike have a wonderful time and you find time to share your cruise with us.  I would love to see some photos of Aruba and Curacao. I 🤗

Landed in Dallas.  A bit cool in the airport. Will be headed to Miami soon. This is the sunrise that greeted us when landing.

Today  is  a  good  day, we  just finished  our Binax Abbott  proctored  covid  tests and are negative . Now can start  packing  for Odyssey  on Sunday  🚢🍸

Test   was easy  very minimal  waiting . Husband  had some difficulty  with accents  but they  allowed  me  to  help  him.

Looking  forward  to  seeing  a new ship.

Glad you both are negative. I haven’t started packing yet. 😕

Thanks. These are just a few of the brads I was able to find. Great toy for a 3 year old girl and a curious ten month old brindle. NOT!

Sounds like they are being a bit careless, but do they go around the yard at the end with a huge magnet? When we had some work done they did that.

While we didn't replace our deck, we did strip ours and stained our deck with Benjamin Moore.  It did a great job!  Two years ago , we did our back deck  behind the koi pond with some stain (or deck paint, I don't remember which) that we bought at Home Depot;  it started peeling the first time my daughter moved her chair on it.  I had worked so hard on that deck!!  Lesson learned...

In 2019 we had a neighbor who is in Construction strip and stain our deck and our terrace.I cannot recall what product he used but they both look great.

We love Benjamin Moore stains. All of our fences have been stained with it, and it lasts and lasts.

We made the same mistake as you and used Behr from Home Depot the first time we did the deck, and it didn't last. The other thing about Behr. We purchased 5 gallons to do the deck and ran out about three quarters of the way through. Home Depot is supposed to have a perfect color match guarantee. The last 2 gallons that we purchased didn't match. The Behr representative actually came out and looked at it. He refunded the purchase cost of all the Behr stain!

This contractor uses TPW stain. We would have preferred BM, but didn't have a choice. We will see how it holds up. :classic_biggrin:

I was going to ask where the malt vinegar was. Then I saw the little packet.
I would need half a dozen or more of those packets!

You and Pauline look great for a rainy day!

Thank you for your nice words.

I have to utmost respect for people "earning their keep" from agriculture / cattle / plants, etc.

I've looked at the time stamp - 5.55 AM, which reminded me....

When we first arrived in Israel, my parents were sent to an adult-Hebrew school (as interns), and I -- to an agricultural school, which had a class for new immigrants. Half day - school and half day - work.

They had oranges groves, flowers and plants, chickens and .... milk-cows.

I decided to go with the worst work - milking cows. Stark contrast from living in Bucharest and going to a "regular" school.

We were up in the dark at 4AM (!!) and finished by 7AM.

It was 3 hours less than the other "works", and I had more time to study. Beside, milking cows was not boring 😉

Imagine weeding for 6 hours 😢

Dani, what an interesting life you have had growing up!  I mean, certainly much different than when I was growing up..I babysat at age 14, worked as a cashier in a food store while in my last year of High School before working in Manhattan after High School Graduation.

Just out of curiosity I opened up a review of Virgin's Scarlett Lady cruise ship.

They really took adults only to the max.  I was flummoxed at the amenities offered in passenger cabins.  I can't name specifics but there is a list offered for purchase of ummmm adult "toys"  for $30.  Neon sign in the ice cream parlor is...well you really should google it yourself.

Decor is very contemporary, not to my personal liking at all.

No drawers in the cabin that was reviewed.  Strange.

Even though I only travel with adults,  I think I'll stick to family cruise lines.

When I was checking the security cameras today the neighbours are already out and rowing their edible beans already. You can see their lights in the dark. They have 50 acres left to harvest and have two pull behind harvesters. Rain is coming Sunday, so they will plan to be done late today.

Our Naples friends who live in Canada farm soy beans and corn.

I was surprised to find out that the average age for passengers is 48. It's very different from any other cruise line but that's was Bransons goal. They have put an emphasis on the food making it a perfect cruise for foodies.

I went to lunch with a friend of mine yesterday, and knew I was going to order fish and chips, just like our friends Pauline and Graham frequently do.  I must say, that Graham's fish looks much tastier than mine was!

Maryann, although I never worked as a cashier, the rest was my life!

Once I couldn't babysit for my neighbor so my mom agreed to sit.  When my neighbor came back home she said her kitchen was never so spotless, kids clean and sleeping.

My first job out of HS, while I took classes at night at CCNY, was at John Hancock Insurance on 42nd and 6th Ave.

The food that was shown looked like it came from a specialty restaurant, very artfully displayed but it was included in the cruise fare.

Many moons ago I worked for an advertising company.  Presentation was everything.

For some reason, my wife hates this shirt.

Printed out luggage tags this morning, and my wife was already laying out clothes.  Three weeks away.  Can you tell we are excited?

Waiting for grandson’s football game to start this morning. It is 46°.

Jim has the same shirt, that he bought many years ago!

How was your grandson's football game?  Besides it being a little chilly?

Truth to be told I haven't either, DH has but I usually wait until last day to pack.  If i start too soon I seem to keep adding things I really don't need.😀

They removed the fence across the front of my house and on the other side of the house.  They only removed the brads on part of the fence on one side of the house and just left them in my neighbors yard.  If they weren't going to take that part of the fence down the first day, there was no need to just take out the brads and leave them on the ground for the dog to get or the 3 year old.  When I talked to him the next day, I did ask him about a magnet and he said they do have one.

This is the only part of the fence that actually has any type of brad or nail to be concerned about as we allowed a previous neighbor to put up the mesh up on the post and rail fence to keep their dogs in the yard.  Current neighbor asked for the mesh to stay as they have a dog also.

Definitely very careless on the part of the subcontractor.

Behr is exactly what we used on the deck in the back.  Never again!

Just sitting at home now, watching one of my favorite Halloween/Christmas movies: "Gremlins 2"!  Watched the first one last night as well.  Gizmo is adorable and hysterical!

Also took the nephew (5 years old) to the farm for the first time today to feed the animals, go on an inflatable slide, and go on a hayride to pick out his own pumpkin!

CC is really wonky again today.  I cannot multi-quote at all.  I have been able to quote some of the posts, some I cannot.  So, here goes for those posts.  BTW, I could "like" all of the posts!

@Ozark..Now you can relax now that you know your friends will arrive on time to join you.

I'm looking forward to following your live post.  What time is Sail away today?

@Sea Dog...Wow Greg, only a few more weeks until you join the club called "Retirement"!!!!

@singinalot....Crystal, the food looks amazing!  Too bad the service wasn't up to par.  That can

really put a damper on things.

@Lioness......I bet you're all packed and ready to go for next weeks cruise, Sue!

@Sunshine...Thank you, Debbie.  Jim's hanging in there!
