You have nothing to be sorry for.  Honest.

I sense a dusturbance in the tranquility here from the dark side..... We need you Luke Skywalker... the force is strong.

@sgmn Sue,

How is your son?🌺

Thanks for asking Dani, his symptoms are quite mild , headache, dodgy tummy 😬

He had a bit of a scare yesterday with passing blood but the 111 emergency doc on the phone consultation thinks it was just irritation .

He's had a letter saying he is free from quarantine on the 24th so that works perfectly.

Alex is testing every day but there seems to be a shortage of LFT at the moment (everyone's testing), so I've just taken over some of our supply.

I wanted to go to the 9 lessons and carols service yesterday but Gary wasn't keen because of the risk of catching covid just before Christmas so I listened to the live stream from my local church instead . Not the same

Probably because of all the CC folks you rallied to protest 😀

My evil plan worked!  I knew that posting about YouTube TV on a cruising web site would change the world.  Bwaaahaaaahaaaahaaaa. 😈

A Charlie Brown Christmas is on PBS now. This is my favorite Charlie Brown TV special.

We also watched it, because it's tradition.  It's starting to lose its appeal for me though.  I think I've seen it too much.

So I definitely spoke too soon regarding the Moderna booster side effects.  Micheline continued to feel worse yesterday and ended up in bed under the covers.  I was doing fine until I started getting chills about midway through making dinner, 28 hours after the shot.  We both watched Jungle Cruise in bed after dinner, took some Advil, went to sleep at about 9:30, and slept for more than 9 hours.  Other than still having sore arms, we're both good today.  No more chills or body aches.  Very similar to how we reacted to the first shot.  I just need one more day for my sore arm to go away so that I can play golf tomorrow morning, although it's always good to have an excuse when playing golf. 😉

I felt kind of the same last night. I was sort of watching it while reading Cruise Critic. It may have just been an off night for me.

@Keksie and @ownedbypets

I'm intrigued by the "fostering" -- were they wounded / abandoned ?

We don't have them here, and in a cruise stop in Boston, DH couldn't stop taking pics of them -- such cute creatures 🥰

I volunteer at a wildlife refuge where native Florida wildlife can be taken if they are injured or orphaned.  Except alligators, bears or bald eagles - we don't have the proper permits for them.  These squirrels were orphaned when they were very young, they start out in the nicu, move to the nursery, move outside and then are released.  This was the last of the babies for the season.  We foster out some of the babies to a couple of our volunteers when it gets too busy during baby season.  The babies need feeding every 2 hours at first and some of the very little ones need even more frequent feeding so have to be taken home at night where they will be fed until dark and start again at daylight.  Right now we are pretty slow and only have 9 raccoons who are overwintering, 1 flying squirrel who is almost old enough to go outside, and 1 black vulture who is waiting for permits to become an ambassador in Pennsylvania.  We have ambassadors who need their habitats cleaned and who we work with to become well behaved educational animals.  They are animals who for one reason or another can not be released.  They can not be animals that we have rescued.

Goodmorning.

When I got my Moderna booster, I suffered with extreme tiredness, headache and sore muscles that lasted 48 hours.  The chills only lasted a little bit.  Just felt cold.

Hope you have a better  day.

Also

Did anyone hear anything about Explorer leaving late from San Juan?  Another social media site

said they left "hours" late with no explanation.

Curious minds want to know, not that it matters, just nibby.

Take care.

They turned out great! Andy was glad to volunteer his services in the name of quality control and youngest DD who came over for dinner declared them “bomb”.  I think I’ll rename them “Sunshine Peanut Blossom Cookies”!

Woke up to this around 12:30 last night.  Neighbors across the street had a small fire back part of their house.  Everyone is fine.

20211220_002805.thumb.jpg.ceb4e7f84fece9e4e62c2e2bfbcbd9c5.jpgthere was fire trucks and emergency vehicles lined up and down the street.  20211220_003910.thumb.jpg.4091337f65da0ef11c289d9bb535a484.jpg

I dont know what started the fire yet.  They turned off electric and gas for both houses next door.

Fireman left by 3 am and allowed the family to go inside and pack overnight bag.  Inspectors are there now.

I have no idea how I slept through all sirens, eric woke me up saying the street must be on fire look outside.   The family was standing in our front yard but they didnt want to come in.

I read on another thread that 7 crew members tested positive this past week and were not allowed to dock at st lucia.

When this happens they usually do an extra deep clean that includes fogging of certain areas onboard.  The new standard.  Seems to push back embarkment by 2 or 3 hours.

Note:  Sunshine added a comment later on that she forgot to include 1 egg in the ingredients.  I mixed it in after beating the butter & sugars together.

It is a beautiful, cloudless blue sky this morning.

It is a little on the cool side.

Today, the serious packing starts for our drive to Florida.  These are always the difficult trips to pack for.  Beach wagon, beach tent, sand toys and other things we need for our stay at the beach with all our grandkids and their parents, then two weeks on the ship.  One suitcase with clothes we will not need till on the ship, one we will need at the house and on the ship, and carry on bags for the road trip that will be repurposed for wine to carry on.

The car will be full.  I think we may have to fit daughter’s luggage and a couple golf bags too.  Time to brush up on my Tetris skills to fit everything.

Back to our regularly scheduled programming. :classic_biggrin: The cookies look fabulous! But I am even more delighted by your cabinet and drawer fronts Deb. They are the same ones we are getting in our new kitchen. We looked at the same drawer pulls too, but I think we are going with elongated U- shaped ones, brushed chrome. I keep thinking I will get hung up on the ends of those T-shaped ones. The countertop we chose is similar as well. Thanks! It is so nice to see it in a real kitchen. I will post photos when it is eventually done.  :classic_biggrin:

If I were to redo a kitchen, I would make all the deep cabinets "pull out drawers".  Every year it gets harder and harder to reach the back of the cabinet.  I always thought to do that in our last house but like all good ideas, I thought too long. 😒

Agree. A Christmas Story is another good one. I believe what makes those two movies so funny is most of us can relate to them with our own similar experiences.

+ 2 😢 .  Is it because of the new "regulations" ?

Mostly.

When I booked this cruise back in June it looked like everything was getting better.  I really didn't want to go on a cruise and wear a mask and I thought by January things would be better.  However, when they weren't, I thought, well I can live with wearing it inside, but can remove it in the casino and at shows.  Then they changed the protocols!  Over the weekend DH said he didn't want to go on vacation and feel like he was in a hospital.

Also, I happened to be at Walgreens on Saturday.  I had read that with their rapid testing people were getting results back in 15 minutes to two hours.  They told me, not anymore.  With the increase in people testing, they were averaging about 24 hours.  I am an anxious person.  I know my anxiety would skyrocket waiting for the results and I just didn't want to put myself through that.

I did have the perfect aft suite booked, too.
