Vegas is my favorite place in the whole world! Haven’t been in a long time but would go now if I could.😃. I always said a cruise to Vegas would be the perfect vacation!!!

I love Vegas but haven’t been there in 20 years do plenty of gambling on my cruises. My wife could have went to a conference there in a couple of months but is too busy at work, she needs to get her priorities straight 😁.

It's worth going once, even if you don't gamble.  The shows are fantastic and there are some great restaurants.  Everything is just completely over the top, including the people watching.  Just be sure to avoid it when there's a big convention in town.  I used to go every year for the Consumer Electronics Show and before that, COMDEX.  The town would be completely packed full of people.

We have been numerous times.  We went for our first anniversary in 1972 and I fell in love.  The first few years we went it was run by a “different group” of people and it was great.  Everyone was treated like a high roller.  The shows were big name entertainers and cheap, as was the food, even gourmet.

it has changed a lot over the years but I still want to go back.  Last time was 13 years ago😢

It is on the list of places we want to go, just hasn't happened yet.  My DH has been there before as he was in the area on business.  We did have plans to meet all of my siblings there for a crazy weekend but covid changed that.  Don't see that happening soon as my sister still hasn't eaten in a restaurant for almost two years now.  My brothers on the other hand were all just there for their annual Nascar weekend.  Worked out well since the Bruins had a game too.

Last time I was in Vegas was Nov 2019.  Last "big" vacation before the shutdown of 2020. Probably been to Vegas 6 or 8 times over the years.

Park MGM ( used to be Monte Carlo before renovations)  keeps sending me vochers for 3 free nights, plus food & casino comps. Very tempting.

I never heard of NYC3 and looked them up on line.Besides being on the Celebrity they will be appearing in Toms River on June 3.

Sounds as though you had a great cruise😀

They have great voices, and are high energy.  They were great to talk to!  I mentioned that I saw them in the front row in the Theater watching the Silhouette dancers with a blown-up dragon which touched them in their seats.  One of them laughed and mentioned that he wound up wearing his Martini after the dragon knocked into him...lol!  These young men have wonderful personalities, and I really feel that with their talent, they will go far.

Maryann, I am so glad to read that you and Jim had an awesome cruise.  You've been missed in here and I'm glad you're back, that is until your next cruise!

Aw, thank you so much, Bonnie!🥰

MaryAnn, Charlie is getting better each day.  I just said to him thank goodness we got our cruise in!

Also thankful we were not still in Atlantic City when he got sick😳

I'm glad to hear that you did get both your cruise, as well as Atlantic City in.  May I ask what happened to Charlie?

My nephew went to Vegas a couple of months ago and there was no mask mandates, at midnight on his first day there the mask mandates were renewed. I hope I never need to again wear a mask.

So Maryann, Charlie woke up last Tuesday the 1st with severe arm pain.  He could move it but it hurt too much.  Off to the ER we went.  After all day and night they decided he had pneumonia which caused the arm pain.  He was treated almost a week with IV antibiotics and is now home.  They said the arm was cellulitis, infection from the pneumonia.  It never ends!

they ended the mask mandate a week ago and there's no more plexi glass and thermal scanners everywhere (like there was for our visit in 2020). it was great but there's still one or two more restrictions that need to go!

Does that include the shows?  When I look at their website at the bottom of the page it appears to still be requiring mask.  https://www.cirquedusoleil.com/reopening#our-commitment-to-safety I just noticed it says they recommend protocol.  Does that mean they don’t enforce it?  That would be nice.  What restrictions still need to go?
After looking at Vegas, Sharon pointed out a 4 day cruise out of Galveston on Adventure.  I am not a big fan of cruises under 7 days but we are just looking for a short break.  We also thought maybe NCAA tournament games but when I looked at tickets it stated different protocols that may be enforced.  It sounds like it depends what state the game is at.  It stinks when you want to have a relaxing getaway but when you look it confusing what you might have to deal with.  Also thought Gulf Shores but the water will still be cold.

I don't know if we will go back to Las Vegas or not, now that the Mirage is gone. Last time we were there I actually got to meet Siegfried Fischbacher (total surprise) and he gave me a short tour of the Secret Garden and the white tigers and their names and schedules. I was such a fan of him and Roy and their shows and their animals.  We had shaken hands with Roy, years earlier during one of their shows and had also seen him at the secret Garden after the accident. With a new litter of baby tigers. They were both very nice gentlemen, and loved performing.

We actually saw them in 1972.  They were a fill in during one of the production shows.  They made a tiger disappear and Charlie couldn’t believe it!  There were topless showgirls and he was still looking for the tiger🤪I still have the Playbill and had to double check that it was really Siegfried and Roy.

Obviously we are not talking about the Royal Caribbean singers and dancers.

Sharon’s mom has been with us for the last two weeks. They have been working on quilts.  They are working on the last 2 today which will be 22 quilts made.  There is a lady in town that will provide batting, hand sew the edge and run them through a quilting machine.  Sharon’s mom has 24 grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren.  When the grandchildren were born she knitted each a baby blanket.  When they got married she made them each a queen size quilt blanket.  For the Great Grandchildren she quilted baby blankets.  The ones they made the last 2 weeks are for future babies.  Right now on the way is #56 (Shelby’s 1st, our 7th) and mom’s 1st great, great, grandchild.  Here are a few…

Marietta I’m sorry to hear Charlie is still dealing with this. I’m hopeful that he is improving.
