Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

Just caught up right now. Looks like you have all been busy the last 30 hours or so.

We have been too, but sitting at a ball park watching Owen’s team. I do pitch count for the team so a lot of time was consumed by it, which helped the days go by. We also escaped sun burn but it was hot and dusty.

At the end of the day Sunday Owen’s team played 2 games. They played the winner of the 9am game at 11:30 and beat them 15-5.  Being a double knock out tourney, they needed to play another game 30 minutes later to determine the year end winner.  Both games were 7 innings with no time limits. We had a bye that morning, where as they had a bye the night before. They were playing their 3rd game of the day and it was our second.

They ran out of pitchers in the bottom of the 6th.  They had kids who could throw balls, just not effectively.  Top of the 7th was 3 up and 3 down for us. At that point the score was 12-7.  We didn’t have any bounces going our way. All said and done, the final score at the bottom of the 7th was 13-12 for us with one out.

Our “Athletics” putting on their Playoff Champions t-shirts.

This new photo seems to be symbolic of our lives. Snow from the Zamboni certainly symbolizes the end of one season to the next. Provincials for ball is this weekend and hockey starts the week after.

This morning Owen was at high school for a JR football camp.  He and 3 of last years players were leading the drills so we might just have a leadership role going forward. School starts a week Wednesday and when his schedule was emailed today he wasn’t too excited but he’s happy to see his friends again.

I am drinking a new cocktail tonight for happy hour.  It's a Raspberry Bourbon Lemonade.🤣

 Cocktails are fun!

That looks amazing keep me posted on your tweaks I'm writing this one down.

And yes I have really been enjoying making craft cocktails at home. Here is my new favorite

Boulevardier:

One part Negroni one part Manhattan

1.5 oz bourbon or rye

1oz Campari

1 oz Sweet Vermouth

2 Dashes Chocolate Bitters

Garnish orange peel

I spent 25 years with a company. The job was very stressful but I made a lot of good friends.I last worked there in 1996 but I am still friends with many of my co-workers.

Before I graduated from college I had planned to switch from accounting to computers and got excepted to work on my Masters at Texas Tech.  Early April I was offered a job I had no intention taking (another story how that happened) .  I was still thinking Masters program but DW suggested to try working a year or two,  you can always go back to school.   35 years later I retired.  Ended up being a great blessing.   Several Co-workers still close friends.

We find it less chaotic to go in the afternoon. Everybody wants to be on the first group to board😁. We don't. We get there when we get there. 🙂

Hope you and family are all better now? Any more cruises planned out of Bayonne? We will go on the Anthem in November and January.

I am still fighting the head cold. Next cruise is supposed to be b2b on disney we shall see. We always arrive late also no interest in eating lunch we just wait for dinner

That looks like a winner.  I'm copying to my list of drinks.  I'll need to pick up some chocolate bitters but I've got everything else.  After 2 Raspberry Bourbon Lemonades, I can tell you that this drink will play a key part in my summer rotation.

I usually don't but have been this season.  I liked how they did the new double elimination this last week.  It really shook things up.

Truthfully, I had enough of that show when people started making alliances, or would never vote someone out, based on race and they blatantly come right out and say it. I just don't need that in a mindless stupid reality show. And lately Survivor has been going down the same path.

After being away all day yesterday I don't feel like I can make her move. I have flashbacks to when she lived under furniture. I've always been a pushover for the furry things in the house. She did open her eyes and change position.

…About a month ago I had a dream I was still working.   It was sooo real.  It reaffirmed I am thankful to be retired!

I think I would call that a nightmare.

I really enjoyed the Kracken Colada.  Yes that was my first of many to come.   Painkiller is a good one too.

I usually love rum punch with Kraken floater but the one had wasn't as good as some past ones.  And bartender said it's extra $1 from diamond voucher.  Never was charged extra on my last 4 cruises this year.

Had 3 good mojitos in casino but 4th one by different bartender was the worst mojito ever.  No wonder his side of the bar was empty.

Long day, headed to bed now.  Good night everyone😀

I was going to ask if they charged more for the floater. Let us know if you try it at other bars and what they say.

Pour the Kraken on top of the drink...........any drink made could have a Kraken floater..............even  a glass of beer.

A booze floater wouldn’t float on top of beer. You should practice it and let us know how it goes. 😆

I did have 2 Kraken Coladas this afternoon with floaters, no extra charge.   Will avoid the bartender in solarium that wants to charge extra😁

That guy was lame. You might think he paid for the bottle of Kraken. I would have showed him the dollar I was deducting from his tip.🤨

Yay!!!! You should never have to pay extra for floaters. I do tip extra. I tend to get a healthy pour that way.

I have come sooo close to ending Survivor.  The past 2 seasons has been over the top stupid.  It seems like the producers of Survivor feels like they need it.  Also when they felt like he couldn't say,  Come on in guys. Then try to explain that he was not forced into not saying it. 🙄   The only way I am still watching Survivor is because we record and fast forward but that will not last if they do it again this season.   There really hasn't been much of that this season on BB.  It's been a few years since I have watched a full season of it.

Yes, I do that too!  The bartender at Lime n Coconut was awesome this afternoon with his heavy pours and great tasting drinks.   I gave him a generous tip as I hope to see him every afternoon.

I took undergrad classes at a college in NYC that nobody ever heard of,even people who lived there. That was the summer after graduating HS.

I took graduate classes at another college in NYC that most people never heard of.Neither college ever had sports  teams.

I swear @Keksie I am going to take this AirBnB host across the street to small claims court.

We spent an hour today cleaning up bear trash from his guest's garbage that they had dragged over here to our house. It included rib bones, medical waste including needles and syringes, diapers, paper plates and cups.

We carefully bagged it up. Their trash was overflowing, so I put it in their recycling. I don't care if it doesn't belong.  Like the bears don't know what day it is. WM comes on Monday. :classic_rolleyes: I am just fed up with this.

I would take some pictures if case you need them, but I would definitely report them. There are some in our area, but not on our street (as far as I know) and I have read the horror stories on Nextdoor.

Now I am researching if Sunday is the start of the week, or the end of the week.  Need to know if I blew it pretty bad last week, or if I got a good head start on blowing it this week. 😏

What’s wrong with them? Don’t they know when we’re on vacation or retired the 7 drinks is a drop in the bucket? 🤣🤣🤣
