Omgosh so cute and looks warm.

I just got power back a little while ago. Seems my gas furnace doesnt run without electricity. Brrrrr. My hands are freezing.

I packed up crack of dawn to drive to my parents, forgetting my garage door is electric. Trapped like a rat. Just now can get the garage door open. It's a balmy 10 degrees outside. I need some florida.

Our pool was covered with ice this morning,

Idk how much snow we got. Seems someone at the dfw control tower has to physically climb down with a wooden ruler and measure the snow.  Are you kidding me lol. Last time was 7 or 8 pm, 10 degrees, and 25 mph, and they hadnt had a reading from dfw since.

That is very sad about the young girl from India.  But we all have choices in life.  Quite the come back excuse she had.

I am sorry, but I would rather live in box than to scam, lie, cheat, and steal from innocent people (and they do it to a lot of seniors)...no matter what the circumstance in my life would be.  It's not right to intentionally cheat people.

I absolutely agree.

Anyone who cheats, steals, lies or scams are scumbags in my eyes

You can manually raise door without power. But you have to pull the release cord to unhook from opener

Oh my that looks very snowy.  When I lived in Texas my son was flying back to Wisconsin where he lived at the time from Austin our closest airport after Christmas.  There was ice on his plane so they pushed the plane into the sun to melt the ice.  He missed his connection since it took a couple hours to melt that ice.  Only in the south.  LOL

Thanks!  My "girls" show up every day at around 7:30 and 4:30.   They get all excited when I walk out with my 2 qt. bucket of dried deer corn.  The leader does her little wiggle and snort and a kind of bowing to me.  She tries to stick her nose in the bucket before I can put it down.  Her name is "Notch Ear", she has had a torn hole in her ear for 2 years.  She travels with her daughter "Junior", her sister "Ginger"...and this year an interloper joined them from unknown parentage.  Her name is ...wait for it...wait for it...

"Jane"....as in....Jane Doe.    OK...everyone can roll their eyes now.   🙄😁

Happy Hour for the girls. 🍷🌽

So I think you would find lockdown in Gibraltar quite hard going.

The youngsters are starting to say ‘so this is what it was like when the frontier was closed!’ .  I only experienced 2 months of it.  I arrived in October 1982 and the frontier opened for pedestrians in December 1982.  It had been closed for over 13 years.  Must have been so boring tbh.

That would be very hard.  Just the other day we drove over to the casino in Mississippi.  A two hour drive.  Ever since I got my driver's license when I was 16 I drove places, the next town over etc.

I need a other half who is more tech minded obviously. I've seen it done, but not sure where to start.

I'm sure there is a way. So glad to have internet again and heat. I really need to move to florida. The sunshine there looks so great. Bella obviously basking in it.

Supposed to get hit again tomorrow with another snow storm.

For your own safety, you really should figure out how to open that garage door in the case of an emergency.  All garage doors have to have an emergency release, there is a pull cord hanging, it is typically red or orange.  Pull that cord and it disengages the automatic track.  You can then pull the door up manually.  Once you have power back, you just have to push the door back until you feel it reengage, you can do it!

Just look for a handle attached to a rope.

I called the realtor a couple hours ago, saying I had no power, couldnt get to email, text me if he hears anything.

Last I heard the owner who wants to buy it out from under me still insisting first right of refusal means whomever speaks up first gets to buy it. Hoa got a lawyer who contacted him twice saying that's not what the hoa docs say. He sued both the seller and the title company so my sale cant complete. They cant give me clear title. Stand off, but now hes actually sued both of them. I dont even have his contact, nothing I can do. Hope the seller doesnt cave just to get his money. We did sign a month extension.

That sounds messy.

Sounds like HOA might be on your side so good luck 🤞

It's especially useful when you lose power.  At least you can get your car out of the garage.

We have a key on the garage door of our condo doors that can disengage the door from outside the garage

Our latest openers on the house garage have a back up battery built in. They give so many open and close cycles, and also have the pull handle for manual opening if the battery dies. Thankfully we have the back-up generator that runs the entire farm.

My outside garage door opener that is mounted to the outside wall is very unreliable.  It has a mind of it own, refusing to work sometimes.  Need to replace it.  So Bucky will pull disengage the door when he is outside and wants it shut.  If I come home and he has done that...grumble...can't use my opener.  ☹️

Call home from outside, and he could open it manually for you.😉

Driving tips, if you have your hands at 10 and 2 and have a accident, the air bag will break both your wrists, have them at 9 and 3 lol.

Almost qualifies for humor thread. Tips for if you have a accident in the ice or snow. They were going on  and on some lady in Oklahoma went into the median and had to be pushed out and didnt even have a good overcoat or gloves. They are telling me to bring my pillow and food lol. I live in the south, it's not supposed to be this cold. Dallas has the worst weather, too hot and too cold.
