Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

I bought the water when it was on sale for around $11.00 for our B2B this past March.  There were 24 bottles.  We also got 4 bottles in the room for being Diamond, plus another 4 bottles for our 2nd part of the cruise.  All in all, we had 32 bottles.  I drink a lot of water, but Jim doesn't...by the end of the cruise, I was drinking water like crazy..lol!

I heard from the concierge this morning, there are still the normal 11-11 drinks, so I will be all set.  I knew a lot have sailed Oasis recently, so I asked here too after emailing the concierge.  I drink a lot of water too but I try to avoid the ships water.  We will have the loyalty waters too and the welcome aboard water a suite gets, so I should be well hydrated! 😄

Was at the chemist last week for my dad’s usual meds and the chemist was looking puzzled over dad’s script when I first handed it over. Turns out the scarcity of some medication here in Australia which has been reported in the media, applies to my dad’s blood thinners.  The chemist warned me that stock was low not just at his chemist but everywhere and we would likely need to speak to the GP for possible alternatives.

I take 75mg Aspirin every morning for blood thinning.

It's almost 3 and a half years since my mild heart attack.

Graham.

We visited Pearl Harbour yesterday.   It was a sobering visit.

I don't think I've ever experienced anything like it.  Definitely a somber experience knowing that the bodies of those brave souls are still down there.

After Lei Day Celebration we started walking back to the hotel.  By seeing the pics it looks like we took the same route as Marty and Helen.  There are all kinds of birds and they are used to humans so you can get close.

Today, Tuesday 5/2, we will board Ovation with a 2-day stop in Lahaina, Maui

If you plan to go to Kaanapali while on Maui, I highly recommend the Hula Grill at Whaler's Village.  It's one of our favorite restaurants.  Sit outside with your feet in the sand, watching a gorgeous sunset, while enjoying a great Mai Tai.  There's a public bus that leaves from Lahaina and stops at the entrance to Whaler's Village, or plenty of Ubers/Lyfts.  Good shopping there also.

When we visited the Arizona, we had to wait on our boat until the remains of a deceased Sailor from the Arizona was being interred.  Being on the Arizona was such a moving experience.

It's a challenge sometimes to get the picks I want while using the Rollator.  I thought,  I can't give up because then @Ocean Boy will fill obligated to come find me in Hawaii and kick my butt.  So I went for it and walked out on a rough pier!

Sharon would get a little nervous when I was getting close to the edge to catch a pic of kids jumping off the pier.

They have breaks in the water.

I was getting closer to the edge when I was informed it's time to go. 😆 But I caught one more jump.

That is an odd dose. Here we would use 81mg.

We bought some in Barcelona years ago, and I know it was different than what we get here.

Funny thing about medicine in Europe, everything is dispensed by a pharmacist.   There are no OTC at all in stores. Even aspirin , you have to ask, and they did not give us much.

I am always well hydrated on a cruise but not from water , sometimes from ice cubes.

I heard today that Canada lost one of its great troubadours yesterday... Gordon Lightfoot. I used to do a lot of his music back in the day. Sorry to hear of his passing.

I posted this earlier, have a bunch of his albums, sat next to the drummer from Guess Who a couple of cruises ago and on one of there early albums they had a tribute to him with the song Lightfoot , Dylan was also a fan of his music.

After leaving the pier I was able to capture some Diamond Head pics without the stairs Helen climbed.

Looks like I missed that one.  We were there twice and I missed it.  It's a nice area.

Earlier you mentioned medicine.   We had my pill box open and had to resort.  With all the meds and vitamins I have 19 pills in each day.  It took awhile to get them sorted again yesterday.

@Tree_skier another day and 2 more games on the pitch. Two victories, 14-4 for the first game and 24/12 the second game. The weather was just above freezing (4C)and drizzle the entire time. Owen got 4 conversions.  He also had 50-22 kick, the first in his high-school’s history.

Proud of Owen but also hope that all of us avoid getting a cold. Later this week going to be in the 20C temp range with sun. Looking forward to that.
