The sheer number of Diamond and higher loyalty shows they have it right with C&A to get points its only the points per tier has overwhelmed them as 80 points to make Diamond has shown.

 

Royal experimented with that once. $350 earned 1 point, I think

I would be in favor of 1 point per $1000 spent with Royal per cruise. 😇

Why not let people just by points? You send RCI a credit card number, tbey add some points to your account. You never have to leave the comfort of your home and RCI need not provide any service. It's a win-win all the way around.🙂😇

Virgin let you buy reward miles.

These miles can go towards free flights or upgrades or you can part pay for flights or upgraded seats with these miles.

British Airways had air miles which are now avios points you can buy or earn at participating retailers to use against paying for flights.

UK Tesco supermarket rewards could be used for money off RCL cruises.

oh lord... the cruise lines’ systems might not be perfect, but please let us not copy airline systems. You have miles that count for this but not for that, miles that expire and those that don’t, status levels that require points (but only certain points) plus number of flights (but only certain flights count) with multipliers that nobody understands. And let’s not get started on how flight on partner airlines do (or don’t) count.

Yes, we did.  Since we (as D+) were kicked out of the CL on that ship (quite recently before we boarded)...they expanded using the "Shall we Dance" lounge on deck six all along the back windows as overflow to tiny little DL in the corner.  Lots of seating, big table of munchies, great bar service.    

 

The CL then was so empty and lifeless...(limited suites on the little Vision class ship) and with only 20 or so Pinnies...that the Pinnies did not want to be in the CL either. They came down to hang with the rest of us in the DL.  We split our time from our own balcony for wine, and some time in the DL.  Did not miss the CL at all.

I remember on Splendour as you walked from Schooner bar the DL was on the left and the CL was on the right side of a decent sized  lounge which was hardly used and the drinks were brought into the DL from the lounge bar.
