Deployment 2022-23 booking season begins

There was and if I recall the issue there was compounded because Royal altered the cruise due to a mandatory USCG inspection in Honolulu.  The original booking didn't violate the PVSA but once Royal modified the cruise for the USCG inspection it became a PVSA violation.  Ovation had never been to the US before that cruise so the required inspection was more involved.

Although the cruise was altered, it did not have an effect on the PVSA situation.  Royal allowed them to book a B2B that was in violation and then did not notice it until just before their first sailing.  We had a similar situation last year with people on the Adventure in New England doing B2B's.

Ah.  I thought they were through passengers caught in the inspection pit stop.

The Ovation itinerary didn't change that much - they only modified the Hawaii ports stops - she still went Sydney - Hawaii - Vancouver (with a much longer stop in Honolulu - 3 days instead of one, for the expanded CG inspection).

BTW, the 10 or so people who booked B2B (Hawaii - Vancouver- Seattle in violation of PVSA) were taken off in Victoria, put up for the night, transported separately and then were allowed to embark in Vancouver.

Serenade of the Seas had been booked for months to depart Alaska following the 2022 season with a Pacific Coastal / Panama Canal sailing that also is booked to stop at Grand Cayman on October15th, 2022 after transiting the Canal.

Radiance of the Seas is booked to also sail on a Pacific Coastal now in 2022 following the Alaska sailing. This would indicate most likely another Panama Canal sailing.  They released the same sailing for the 2021 re-deployment.  Radiance will most likely return to Miami for winter 2022-23.

Navigator (possible Voyager or other placeholder) has been booked for August 2nd 2022 at Monterey California. I had previously posted the frequent 2023 Navigator bookings at Monterey.

So...a bit confused...your thoughts on when the west coast may have a ship sailing to anywhere other than a coastal cruise?

I just see the bookings at Astoria, Oregon and Monterey CA at the moment.  They have had Serenade booked for a few months at Astoria and Grand Cayman. They just booked Radiance on the 3rd of November for both 2021 and 2022 at Astoria.

Navigator was just booked this week at Monterey for the 2nd of August 2022.

I have no idea when they would finalize or release those sailings.

Canada just announced no visitors until at least June 21, 2021, so no cruises before that

Do you have a link.  It was just 2 weeks ago that they extended the restrictions until Nov. 30th, 2020.  That seems like a big jump in time compared to what they have been doing.

Bookings made at the Balearic Island ports of Palma and Ibiza seem to indicate that they are shifting things around a bit at the last minute.  Riviera ports have not been updated yet.

Allure of the Seas should be the summer season 2022 ship based on the 7 night sailings out of Barcelona with the same weekly Sunday departures.

Bookings for Vision of the Seas and Jewel of the Seas do not give a clear vision of the sailings. They do not appear to be doing regular weekly or 12 night sailings.  Jewel appears to be heading in and out of the MED with 2 cruises calling on Funchal Madeira.  Ports of Nice, Allicante, Valencia and Tarragonia are booked. These will become more clear when Riviera ports updates their bookings.

Anthem has increased now to 4 sailings from Southampton entering the MED. It seems that INDY will also return to Southampton based on current bookings.

Rhapsody has calls on her way to Italy.

That was an old article you read.  They closed the border until June 21, 2020.

It is currently closed until Nov30th.

November 3rd would be VERY late in the season for Astoria.

The booking was made with the port authority just 9 days ago on the 3rd of November. The call of the ship is in 2022 following the Alaska season.

I misunderstood,  I thought they booked the ship to stop there on Nov 3rd.

The week of November 30th the Europe cruise will be released. Will the spring TA’s also be released?

The spring 2022 TA sailings should be issued with the European sailings. There is no way to know for sure until they are released though.

Thanks for the correction. We live 125 miles from the border and our area misses the business and we miss going to Canada
