I do not have air conditioning and dread the next heat wave, we get about 32 to 36 Celsius. notamermaid

CPT Trips Posted June 28, 2021 #4778 Share Posted June 28, 2021 And the temperature in Eugene Oregon was similarly high. Several events at the track and field Olympic trials. Despite the heat some great races and a world record.
Rare gnome12 Posted June 28, 2021 #4779 Share Posted June 28, 2021 The heat extends into western Canada too. Lytton BC set an all-time weather record for Canada yesterday with a temperature of 46.6 celsius or almost 116 fahrenheit.

Rare gnome12 Posted June 29, 2021 #4783 Share Posted June 29, 2021 The new record set today is 47.5 celsius, or 117.5 fahrenheit, also in Lytton BC. This was at 4 pm so the final temperature could have been higher.

Canal archive Posted June 29, 2021 #4785 Share Posted June 29, 2021 We very rarely get that hot here. So this should be easy but no googling or yahooing. Country and who is it please. CA
Canal archive Posted June 29, 2021 #4786 Share Posted June 29, 2021 CPT Trips, I’ve never seen so many oil/gas rigs in one place before a still I can’t pinpoint it. I at first thought it was Stavanger but no. I will keep looking. CA

CPT Trips Posted June 29, 2021 #4789 Share Posted June 29, 2021 (edited) No reason not to do both. Dangerous temperatures - really unbelievable but what scientists have been predicting. 2 hours ago, notamermaid said: I admit, I am confused. Same here! I assume that we should identify the photo submitted by CPT Trips rather than the one submitted by CA as CPT first took the wild card? In my case, it would be a feeble attempt at identification as I have absolutely no idea where one would find these oil rigs. Rare notamermaid Posted June 29, 2021 Author #4791 Share Posted June 29, 2021 I have no clue for either. But we cannot really run two photos at the same time and create two threads of identifying. So let us concentrate on the oil rig or whatever it is. I take a wild guess for a place for river cruising that is both a river estuary and port: Bremerhaven on the Weser, Germany. notamermaid
CPT Trips Posted June 29, 2021 #4792 Share Posted June 29, 2021 Notamermaid, you must go further to the East. I am not certain whether or not it is an estuary. I don’t think it is, but I just do not know.
Renmar Posted June 29, 2021 #4793 Share Posted June 29, 2021 (edited) No clue either but here is an other guess based on the "further east" remark; Hamburg on the Elbe? I know the one that @Canal archive posted but I'll wait with that one until it is CA's turn😊. Theo Edited June 29, 2021 by Renmar
Canal archive Posted June 29, 2021 #4794 Share Posted June 29, 2021 (edited) Ignore it. CA it was set to go on auto and it failed to work properly. Edited June 29, 2021 by Canal archive
Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted June 29, 2021 #4795 Share Posted June 29, 2021 Maybe it would help to keep our focus on the quiz if posts about temperatures and other topics were kept to the 'how are things' or 'water cooler' threads. 🤔

And you used the proper “little squiggly” on the “t” rather than adding a zed. Yes, we came through the “Death Canal.” Not the least bit scenic, but the route saves a lot of kilometers for the freight carriers. Theo, it looks like you’re up for the next picture. Not that we have been there but we are still in the planning stage for a Danube cruise. We like to do the cruise from Amsterdam to the Black Sea. Our friends did that a few years ago and they are still raving about it. I hope one of the cruise lines is offering it. Next picture will be posted later tonight, probably around midnight Pacific time. Theo
CPT Trips Posted June 29, 2021 #4800 Share Posted June 29, 2021 We cruised that route, Amsterdam to Constanta, but it took us three separate cruises and some backtracking. We did visit some places more than once in the course of those trips over a couple years. I think there are only a few cruise lines that go as far as Constanta.
