Yikes! I can't believe the heat - Seattle is 105 & was warmer yesterday. Stay safe!

And the temperature in Eugene Oregon was similarly high. Several events at the track and field Olympic trials. Despite the heat some great races and a world record.

The heat extends into western Canada too. Lytton BC set an all-time weather record for Canada yesterday with a temperature of 46.6 celsius or almost 116 fahrenheit.

Do I know it, we live about 60 km, as the crow flies, away from there.

The new record set today is 47.5 celsius, or 117.5 fahrenheit, also in Lytton BC. This was at 4 pm so the final temperature could have been higher.

Canadian crows are smart, they just fly high because it is cooler up there 😉.

CPT Trips, I’ve never seen so many oil/gas rigs in one place before a still I can’t pinpoint it. I at first thought it was Stavanger but no. I will keep looking. CA

It is NOT Stavanger. Go to a lower latitude.

Good grief!! Dangerous temperatures - really unbelievable but what scientists have been predicting.

Same here! I assume that we should identify the photo submitted by CPT Trips rather than the one submitted by CA as CPT first took the wild card? 

In my case, it would be a feeble attempt at identification as I have absolutely no idea where one would find these oil rigs.

I have no clue for either. But we cannot really run two photos at the same time and create two threads of identifying. So let us concentrate on the oil rig or whatever it is. I take a wild guess for a place for river cruising that is both a river estuary and port: Bremerhaven on the Weser, Germany.

I am not certain whether or not it is an estuary. I don’t think it is, but I just do not know.

No clue either but here is an other guess based on the "further east" remark;

Hamburg on the Elbe?

 

I know the one that @Canal archive posted but I'll wait with that one until it is CA's  turn😊.

Well done. And you used the proper “little squiggly” on the “t” rather than adding a zed. Yes, we came through the “Death Canal.” Not the least bit scenic, but the route saves a lot of kilometers for the freight carriers.

Not that we have been there but we are still in the planning stage for a Danube cruise. We like to do the cruise from Amsterdam to the Black Sea. Our friends did that a few years ago and they are still raving about it. I hope one of the cruise lines is offering it.

 

Next picture will be posted later tonight, probably around midnight Pacific time.

We cruised that route, Amsterdam to Constanta, but it took us three separate cruises and some backtracking. We did visit some places more than once in the course of those trips over a couple years. 
I think there are only a few cruise lines that go as far as Constanta.
