Will you sail on " nowhere" cruise if offered?

For everyone who "have been there, have done that" cruise to nowhere will be a good start to cruising....

If cruising from Florida, I think this will be a good option. All on board will be vaccinated, so it should be safe.

What do you think?

Cruises to nowhere starting from outside the US- absolutely not interested.

We did have a good time on the 17 days on Eclipse, last March, where we were not welcome in any South American ports.  However it was a free cruise thanks to Celebrity.  I don't think I would pay for a cruise like that.  In fact we are worried that our Sept 4 cruise out of Southampton could become that since it will be the first Silhouette cruise with international passengers.

I know it can't be done.....but we would love it.  The transatlantics we've done, with 6-8 days of nothing but ocean, were fantastic.

We've done 30+ crossings, so literally hundreds of sea days, many of them in a row.

But that was always combined with 3-8 ports and starting (or ending) with a week or 2 in Europe or Asia.  

A cruise to nowhere stand alone? And, like TeaBag said, paying for it?

No, not anything we are interested in.  At one time yes, our reason for cruising was to get away and relax, now it is actually to tie together land destinations, and travel with a purpose.

We cruise for the ports visited. While we enjoy occasional sea days as part of the mix, a cruise with nothing but sea days has no appeal whatsoever.

If the prerequisites were acceptable to include everyone being vaccinated, we would go on the Edge's CDC "no revenue" test cruise if one is still required once CDC releases their long awaited technical guidance to start cruising from US ports again.

Nah.  I enjoy sea days, but I love going to a port.  If I want to stay in "one location", I'll do an all-inclusive resort in Playa Del Carmen.

I agree with most posters. For us, cruising is a journey linking different destinations together....Going on a plane, a train or a ship that has no destination would be paying for a missing link. So, in short, “no.”

In the Caribbean,  certainly yes!  I cruise for the ship not the ports. In Europe that's a different story

If cruising from Florida, as Isabella asked, it simply isn’t an option.  There are regulations that would prohibit it.

It'd have to be about 1/3 to 1/2 the going rate, or free.  Even though nowadays I sail mostly to be waited upon (been to ports by sea/land multiple times), with the price X is charging a solo with AI, I probably could hire a live-in for a week to cook and clean and come out way ahead.  Suppose I'd need to tell Alexa to play ocean sounds on the everywhere group, too.  😉
