I am happy to announce that I will be joining the brand new Odyssey Of The Seas this week.

 

I look forward for the opportunity to go back to work, and once again help create vacation memories for Royal Caribbean passengers (you guys)!

Congratulations! Looks like we will be on Odyssey July 3 (being moved from our original cruise on the Independence) so looking forward to seeing you, maybe in the Casino???

Congratulations, Chris.  We are being moved from Indy to OY (7-17 and 7-25) but since they haven't moved us officially yet, I am not certain of our new sail dates.  Looking forward to sailing again.  So happy to see you back.

He better get moving then to make your July 3rd sailing, doesn't he have to first quarantine, then get his 1 shot and then wait another 14 days before he can board the ship, plus he has to do his new training somewhere?

 

Can't see him making your sailing.

We may have to wait until our August sailing to meet him.

I think that is the hope of all the crew members, to get vaccinated in their home country but most have not been very sucessful in that attempt.

No need to quarantine prior to getting his vaccination. No need to quarantine for 14 days before joining the ship, can quarantine on board. And many of the crew trainings are done online via video followed by quiz while they quarantine.

 

Flying out to FL today, J&J vaccine tomorrow, join the ship by this weekend, 14 days in his cabin after joining, during which he gets most of his training done. Still leaves at least a full week prior to passengers coming on board to finish up the hands on training.

Before all that, test cruise and then the wait from the CDC to give them approval to sail, so July 3rd sailing still may not go as scheduled.

No, the test cruise & getting CDC approval can happen concurrently with all that. And those issues have absolutely nothing to do with this thread and what's being discussed, Chris joining the Odyssey and whether he'd be working and people could meet him if they are on the July 3rd sailing.

i have a cruise on the Indy in october and i believe it has been moved to the odyssey. MY ta is trying to find out if RCCL is just transfering us at the rate i paid or at the current price. Did they move you at the price you paid???

I got an email advising me about the move, but I have not yet received a new invoice or a new cabin assignment, still waiting.
