Comnents from another well known social media site state that in the UK the app is not being used when checking in. 

You can do everything at the terminal,  in person.

Thanks for that - it makes sense as not everyone will have a smart phone (me included)!

It means you are off the ship indicated in the booking.

Don't worry.  Your cruise is far out; so many app updates with happen between today and your cruise.  Don't sweat the bugs in the app.   It will work out; plus bottom line you always pick up medallion at the port.  Have a great day and keep smiling

I can’t sign in to the updated app either, but I also noticed I was having trouble logging in to the website this morning. They’re probably making changes today that are messing things up.

I've been looking thru the last 10 pages or so and didn't see this addressed.  I downloaded the app a month ago and finally got us both in.  Mine originally had the parental control page showing up.  I could login then with my booking number.  Now my cruises do not show up at all and when I try to link them with the booking number is says not found even though they are there for my husband.  Also, I cannot log in using the booking number for me.  Any tricks to get it to recognize me?  

 

When I logged in to both accounts today it did not have our personal information and it had my DOB on both and our names reversed.  So I updated them and I have no idea if that has anything to do with my issue.  

 

Appreciate any advice.

I have seen a lot of updates and downtime on this app.  What I did…

Delete the app.

 

Go back to princess.com…

Go to the cruise personalizer and make sure you have done what you can on that for both of you.

Then…

click….checkin and download the app again.  See if it filters over to the app.

If not, I would call the app help line.

They can help to put in your data.

Yes, @Dar & Bob, can login to Cruise Personalizer or Captain's Circle profile and see if info there is correct.  Not sure it will carry over to MC App any longer.  I agree that call to Princess is warranted and get them to check your cruise profile, your booking profile and make sure both names are correct, both birthdates, etc.  I wonder if @Dar & Bob is using the same userid/pswd for both Princess.com and MC App - it should be the case.

I called and was on hold 45 min and no one ever came to the phone. I called back. On hold again. 20 min later we got started. 5 min later I was disconnected. I sent two email. Nothing. No reply at all. You cannot do anything on the web site. You must use the app. If I am wrong about that please tell me how to do everything on the web site.

When I was on hold, twice, the music stopped and I thought I was disconnected but stayed on hold - 'all assistants are busy' message played but no more background music. Eventually someone answered.

Yes, but we have no influence on that. It might be interesting discussion but it is completely irrelevant to people stuck and need help. I would like to see two threads... one that offers help and resolutions to problems and a more general one that discusses the right and wrong, the whos and whys etc. That way the help is not muddled in with the other stuff. 🙂

 

Finding useful posts in this thread is almost impossible because there is so much discussion on the rights and wrongs. Not that I am saying we shouldn't discuss... just that when someone needs help they have to wade through the theoretical stuff for page after page to find posts that actually offer real help.

I am sure this is told in one of these 35 pages but I am too lazy to read them all.

Please explain to me how to book specialty restaurants. I guess I am dumber than I thought............lol

On the 'Journeyview activites timeline' for our cruise, there are now some activities, like trivia quizzes, and Art auction registration, but no mention of the the theatre shows
Do these go into that section? Can we book them prior to boarding (or at least see what will on when)?

I am thinking about letting you wallow in your laziness, but I lost the coin toss.  😉

 

  • SO, I am going to assume you know how to launch DMW in MC App.
  • Next, select Individual Evenings Review & Book (words to that effect).
  • The System will display your existing dining bookings, beginning with first cruise evening and you can swipe right-to-left through the dates of your voyage to get to the evening you want to book a SR.
  • For that evening, you can make an override dining res or book a SR.  The System will offer you the SR's on your ship and you select an available time.  The SR time-slots are every 20 minutes from 5:30pm, so they are at different times than Main Dining.

Do you know if Princess gives a free bottle of wine for Specialty dining on the first night?

Never heard of that - from Princess.  Sometimes, a TA might give a bottle of wine credit as a gift (but it will likely be the lowest value on the menu, but you can buy whatever and have a credit offset).  I have seen a free large bottle of water in one of the Coupon Booklets if dining at a Specialty Restaurant.
