Cruises are available for guests who have ALL of the following:

  • Received their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before the beginning of the cruise
  • Proof of vaccination
  • Sailings from the United States: Proof of a negative viral COVID-19 test (PCR or antigen) taken within two days of their embarkation
  • Sailings from the United Kingdom: Proof of a negative viral COVID-19 test taken at the terminal, which will be provided on a complimentary basis

Guests will also be required to wear a face mask in certain areas.

Masks and Physical Distancing

We strongly encourage guests to wear face masks when in public spaces indoors. To protect our guests and crew while on board, new requirements are being implemented. ALL guests will be required to wear a face mask – with no exceptions – in the following areas/situations:

  • Elevators
  • Designated indoor entertainment areas
  • Retail shops
  • The casino, except when eating or drinking
  • Prior to being seated in our main dining rooms and in the buffet area
  • Occasionally in other designated areas where larger number of guests may congregate
  • During embarkation and disembarkation in the terminal
  • During the disembarkation process on board

We always recommend guests wash or replace their mask daily and choose a good quality, ideally medical grade, standard mask. Please note that visors and face shields will not be accepted as substitutes for a face mask.

Note: Unvaccinated guests will be required to wear a face mask at all times while indoors, in accordance with health authority requirements.

Not bothered by testing, but, not happy about masking.  We have a final payment due Jan 9 for April TA.

We are vaccinated and when required wear masks at home, but, are not willing to pay thousands of dollars on vacation to mask.  I realize I am in the minority with this opinion.

That 2 day testing being extended through February may cause me to move my January cruise.  To much danger in not getting results in 2 days while traveling to port.  Even Hawaii is not requiring fully vaccinated people to be tested.

Sue and I will have to get the PCR test in San Francisco since we are flying in on the morning of the 13th (3 days before cruise). We are pretty confident that rapid tests will be accessible and timely.  I am more  concerned with maintaining "negative" through high risk exposures at the airports.  Once on board, we will feel safer.

So now  UN-Vaccinated pax will be allowed to cruise?  This may change things for us.

No you still must be vaccinated to sail but that testing thing is still a pain and I am seeing that the home tests with proctors come up with 15 % false positives - don't want to get to SF and find out I can't sail.  I

Exactly my point about testing in embarkation city. If I'm asymptomatic I want to be in my home not a hotel. Here I can hop the fence & hike w/o coming in contact with anyone.  In a hotel I'd have to stay inside

I’m confused. In the he upper portion of the notice it says everyone must show they are fully vaccinated. Then, at the very end of the whole message there is a note: saying unvaccinated people must wear a mask at all times. Is this people with a medical reason for no vaccine? How will staff know who should be wearing a mask? Who will ensure they do?  My thinking is, if this is a person who is simply against vaccinations, they will not abide by the rules, and are unidentifiable. I don’t want legitimate people with allergies sidelined, but hesitant or anti are a different category. I understand that polls show wecwan5 our fellow travellers to be vaccinated….period!

We have a cruise on January 16 out of Florida. We are glad the change has occurred.  I found the notice on the Princess site. I find it interesting that Princess has not contacted us about the change or have they updated their website to note this is a vaccinated cruise.

Huh?  Exactly what has changed from the prior protocols except the date?

You aren't in the minority....I feel the same way as you.

Testing is no issue, vaccination is no issue, but I'm with you on the mask wearing.   I might be spending lots on time on my balcony 🙂

Was hoping the testing requirement would be three days prior to the cruise

The two-day requirement is from the CDC.

It is possible that the CDC may change that requirement before Feb 28, but nobody knows when.

How do you know this?

It seems like a lot of people on CC are for mask wearing to prevent the spread of Covid on the ship......I think a lot of these opinions have a lot to do with what region in US people live.  We are required to wear mask in all public spaces where we live and I would say at least 95% comply.....even the gym I work out there is usually 100% compliance when people are working out

I know the people who complain about wearing masks are probably going to be the one's on the ships pushing the issue and probably not complying with what Princess asks.  It is really not a big deal!!!

I guess you consider me one of those that complain.  Your assumption is I would not comply on board.  This is a wrong assumption.  Yesterday I cancelled my April cruise.   Point being, I am not going on a cruise and not complying as you assume.  I am not a rule breaker.  I am choosing not to go.
