New: Deal or No Deal

I couldn’t make it last night because I had late dinner reservations, but Princess has seemingly licensed the show Deal or No Deal to present in the Princess Theater.

I dont know the details, except that audience members can buy cards before the show, and win up to $1K.

I heard that one card costs $25, and I believe there is a slight discount when buying the larger packages much like bingo.

We were on the Carnival Mardi Gras in August, and they played this game show too.

Tonight is the first night on the majestic. The CD made it sound like it will first be rolled out on this ship. She was really trying to create some excitement at the show last night and on the Wake show.

I was on the regal January 27th sailing and they debut it on that sailing or so they said I went to the first show was held in princess theatre it was alright but probably won't attend on future cruises.  Was not familiar with the game show but I guess it was pretty popular.

I have played it in Norwegian. Its okay if nothing else is going on!

We also played it on NCL one ship day when it was rainy we needed something to do. My husband was picked to play the game on stage. We ended up winning around $150!  Have not experienced it on Princess yet.

We saw it last night.  They did make it sound like the Regal was debuting it.  We did not buy any cards and just sat and watched the first game.  The guy won $.50.  Anyone in the audience who bought cards could win up to $1000 although I think a free cruise could be won too.  We left after the first game.  They did play a second one.  Tomorrow they will be playing again but this time in the afternoon.

Pretty much I have noticed there is much less entertainment than before the pandemic.  Understandable but I hope at some point they hire more entertainers.

So instead of a production show for entertainment they now use the show lounge for more gambling at night. :classic_ohmy:

Last week on the Regal, it was from 7:30 to 8:15 in the theater one night. They had a magician perform at 9:00 that night. With so few passengers, they were doing just one show a night. We had two production shows (Encore and Sweet Soul Music), a singer (the guest soprano from Encore doing her own solo show with the band), a comedian, a piano player/singer, the aforementioned magician, and a return engagement for the comedian and piano player/singer splitting a show.

They put our show in the Vista Lounge 7:30-8:15 and Deal or no Deal from 8:30- 9:30 in the showroom. Nathan Phan is in the Vista again at 9:30-10:15. I didn’t go to either of them. I saw Nathan two nights ago.

I saw this a couple of weeks ago on the Regal. Once was enough. Tickets were expensive, odds of winning any thing significant are very slim.

Just as one would expect.

Another money grab from Princess.

Anyone know - Since promoting getting game cards in the casino is it with the medallion/ actual cash or either one?  Anyone know how to be the one to pick the cases?

I can’t imagine them spending millions on installing medallion technology just to have you pay cash. Since this and bingo are run by the casino, and you can buy bingo cards with your medallion, one can safely assume that you can use the medallion as well in this case. I’d not, something is terribly wrong.

Wait, what?  This is Princess Theater entertainment?  I don’t like the sound of that.

Yep. If the Princess theater is now being  used for gambling it's got to mean that it can't be used for other things. Like an afternoon movie, practice for the dancers, etc.

We've purchased bingo cards in cash from casino on other ships instead of the sign/sail cards  - although it was pre-covid.  Was just curious.

I hope this isn’t going replace Voice of the Ocean. I don’t think they’ve had Voice of the Ocean since the restart, but karaoke seems to be back based on some Patters that have been shared, so my fingers are crossed for Voice coming back in time for my next cruise in May.
