I think I'm having BHB withdrawal.  🛳️  It's now back to cooking, making the bed and doing laundry, and somehow my clothes never look as good as they do when they come back from the laundry.  There is also a pile of mail and bills to sort through.  😒

@Horizon chaser 1957  I hope your sister just sprained her wrist and did not break it.  Sorry your nephew and his wife have Covid.  Sending positive throughs they have a mild case and a quick recovery.

@bennybear  I also hope the worst of the Covid is over for you DS.

@JazzyV  I'm glad you are feeling better.  😱  Yikes, they want to move the appointment to August, six months after the original appointment.

@NextOne  EDI, HAPPY BIRTHDAY a day early.  Sorry your hand is causing problems and you have to wear a brace.  Sending positive thoughts about your niece, Jackie.  That is a scary situation, and I hope they find the answer soon, and it is easily and quickly fixed.

@mamaofami  Carol, I hope the balance PT helps Sam.

Thanks for today's Daily and to all who contribute! Bon voyage @Cruzin Terri!

I'd love to hug all the newspeople who take such huge risks to let let us know what's happening in Ukraine! My cats tend to lie in places that I have to walk around them.

Today's drink isn't appealing at all, and the wine is above my price point, but sounds good!

My doctor says I may have carpel tunnel and a trigger finger, so I'm now wearing a brace on my right hand. Makes it hard to type! My best friend and her daughter are taking me out to lunch tomorrow for my birthday and I hope I can handle the utensils okay...

May I request prayers for my niece? She got married two weeks ago, went back to work last Monday, and Friday morning she couldn't walk. She's been in the hospital since then and they are doing multiple scans and tests to figure out what happened. Very scary! Her name is Jackie. I know you'll surround her with prayers - thank you!

Edi

I hope your hand feels better soon! Prayers for Jackie that her doctors figure out what's going on and have a treatment for her.

Thanks. The original February appointment was moved to two different March times, then two different April times (it was coming up in about 12 days), then they called today to change it again. I told the person calling I wasn't upset with her, but this was no way to treat patients, and she agreed.

Just got an email from Medicare:

Good news! Starting this week, you can get up to 8 over-the-counter COVID-19 tests per month for free. You'll be able to pick up tests from eligible pharmacies and other participating healthcare providers.

Contact your local pharmacy to see if they are participating and to make sure they have tests available.

Edi, poor Jackie!  I hope the docs can figure out what is wrong and get her back on the road to full recovery.  Not being able to walk is serious. 🙏

An early happy birthday wish to you!  Mine's coming up in a few days and maybe I can get a lunch date with DH, too.

I got that email too.  We've already gotten a couple of free sets of them and I'm not sure we need so many of them.  I'd hate to waste them.

My County Sheriff always honors his fallen colleagues.  He posted the following message and picture from Lieutenant Lebo’s wife.

What an amazing tribute and legacy.

@NextOne,Sending along prayers for your niece and I hope the diagnosis  is found soon

@bennybear, I am sorry your DS had such a rough day and hope he sees improvement  soon.

And a big thank you to all who wished those in my now more mobile household well. It is daunting  to face NYC crowds again after 2 years of isolation. They will be fine  but it was sweet of all of you to be  so thoughtful.

Terri @Cruzin Terri — Safe travels 🛫🌎 and enjoy Barcelona. We will be there in 8 weeks. May I ask where you are staying?  We decided to do a HAL hotel and are staying at the Hotel Claris. With the uncertainty of travel I wanted something that would be easier for us especially with DH back problems. Also enjoy your cruise, I believe you said it starts on the 11th.

We are staying at the Cotton House.  Since we had a lot of Marriott points we decided to put them to good use.  After we booked the hotel, Condé Nast rated it as the best place to stay in Barcelona.  How great is that?  Thanks for your well wishes.

Good afternoon, I hope everyone is having a great day.
It was just posted on WGAL Lancaster that our fallen hero LT Lebo Celebration of Life will take place Friday morning at 11am at the Giant center in Hershey.💔🙏🥲 The family asks the focus be on the good he did instead of how he passed.  There is no update on the other 2 officers conditions.

Our county library is handing them out for free - limit of two per visit.

This day keeps going downhill. I took one of the fuzzy freeloaders to the vet for his regular checkup & he needs 2 teeth extracted. Plus, because he has a heart murmur, the vet thinks he should be checked out by a kitty cardiogist before he goes to the dental surgeon. I just keep seeing the $signs going up! But he's worth it!

Good Afternoon All,

Like @Crazy For Cats, we have a sea day. I’m getting ready to go sit on the promenade. Our “ porch “, while nice, is in the blazing sun. And it doesn’t have the same shippy  atmosphere. We’ve found some things we like about the cabin and ship. And some items on the other end of the continuum. One question, maybe philosophical: if there’s no one in the cabin bathroom, does the light go out? I had to laugh: and so did the guy at the front desk: I have 6 credits for drinks mysteriously appear on my account. It comes in around $50. I reported it, and supposedly they’re looking in to it. And no, we don’t have HIA or a beverage package. And neither of us bought any drinks.

@bennybear That looks a lot like a Bev Doolittle painting.

@sailingdutchy Zuidie is requiring masks in the casino. I accidentally found myself walking through ( ya, I was lost) and it was noticeable how many were wearing them as opposed to in general around ( inside) the ship. Many do, most don’t.

To augment today’s submissions from the Daily F&B Department, here’s the MDRs crab Louie, and the wines we tasted at this afternoon’s tasting.

Have a great day everyone!

( pictures in a moment)

Thanks for the kind wishes for DS. I think he’s turned the corner,  thankfully as yesterday was scary.  He’s fully vaccinated and thirty years younger,   So I sure hope we can continue to avoid this.  It makes me upset that so many are out and about while symptomatic.  He was told to increase fluids dramatically as with covid dehydration is an issue.

@TiogaCruiser lol!  We could only find a bird hiding in the woods. I love her paintings, just as I’m enjoying your food vicariously.

Thank you all for the Bon Voyage and well wishes.

We are comfortably ensconced in our hotel in Jacksonville.

We went to the Outback for dinner.  The place we wanted to go has closed.  We have not been here for two years because of COVID.  However the hotel staff remembered us.  Most importantly, they remembered my BIL, Eugene and were sorry to hear of his passing.

Since I am a Lifetime Marriott Titanium Elite, they were super nice and will let us leave the car at the hotel at no charge for the whole six weeks that we are gone.  That is a huge savings.

Had a bit of a problem with American Airlines this morning.  I completed all the Verifly requirements. However when I tried to check in, it said I need to see an agent at the airport.

After we got to the hotel I received another message to check in.  I did not have much hope.  However, I tried.  I had to scan our passports and then it checked us in and gave us our boarding passes with TSA pre-check.

All set.

We are good to go.

So we will go to bed soon and hopefully have a restful sleep.  Early rising tomorrow and off to the airport.

Please say a prayer we have a save flight.  We are a bit nervous.

I will post along the way and hopefully add some photos too.

God bless.

Terri

A very delayed hello to my Daily friends...I know it has been such a long time since I've been able to check in...feels like a lifetime ago. So sorry it has taken me so long to provide an update.

First and foremost, my dear sweet granddaughter arrived after a long and difficult labor over 36 hours, delivered via cesarean.  Her name is Lana...and a precious gift to this family.

My husband and I spent the week she was in the hospital at the house to care for the dog, then another 12 days after to help the new parents get settled into a routine.  Both she and her husband have been wonderfully calm with her, doing their best to soothe her cries and cuddle her close, despite the lack of sleep.  We thought we were leaving them in an improving state, but it has been more of a challenge than anticipated.  Medical professionals are getting involved, at daughter's request - a step I am very proud she has taken.  It's not easy to step forward and admit you are scared and need help sorting through fears, but she is determined to be the best version of herself for her daughter and husband.

Right now, she's convinced she cannot learn to be a good mother and is afraid to be alone...so working on a schedule to ensure someone is with her at all times until she regains her confidence. It doesn't matter that we tell her she's really doing fine - she is struggling to believe it.   My husband was there last week, my sister there now, and I will be going down in two days.  Her husband has to work, so we are there for her during the day.

While away week one, two of the four clerks on my staff ended up leaving.  Losing 50% of your staff at one time presents some significant challenges, and I'm trying to staff back up to get things back on track.  All this while worrying about my daughter - timing for something like this is quite poor, but I'm grateful that my bosses are supportive and insist to me..."Family first, always".

I am woefully behind in what is happening here but will find some quiet time in the coming days to try and catch up.  For now, know that even though I have been absent, you are all in my thoughts...especially those who are in need of prayers and encouragement.  Bless all who share such positive thoughts, ideas, wit and wisdom here.

Thanks for all the daily reports, librarians are important,  we like to read books,  but will watch Parliament Question time this afternoon.  Needed an umbrella when walking this morning.  Still raining.

@Cruzin Terri Wishing you safe  travelling.  Bon Voyage,

@NextOne  what a very scary situation  for your niece Jackie, hope the tests quickly show the problem so that treatment can begin.

Happy Birthday to you for tomorrow.

@aliaschief pleased that you are safely home, will you be in this part of the world  during your World cruise?

Stay safe, take care everyone.

Well, the day has arrived.  We will drive to Jacksonville this afternoon and stay overnight. Tomorrow we fly out at 11 am to Miami for a connection to Barcelona.  Completed our Verifly apps this morning and our Spain health forms. We do not need a Covid test to enter Spain but do need to be tested to board the ship.  Oceania requests that we be tested 72 hours prior to boarding and then we will again be tested at the Terminal prior to boarding on April 11.

Safe travels and Bon Voyage! 🙂

@msmayor And they are right, family first.  at the end of the day, when all is done, do you want to be sitting alone or holding the hands of a loved one.  Will the people at a job help buy the groceries when times are tight?  will a job hold your hand at the doctors?  will a job pick you up when times are hard?  nope, you can lose your job, leave your job, get fired from your job, you can be replaced at your job, but with family,  you are accepted as you are every day good or bad.

@Cruzin TerriHave a great trip, take pictures, and have a great cruise!

Good morning everyone and Happy Monday!  I admit that I’d rather watch TV than read. If I read it’s either a magazine or a cookbook. I watch mostly cooking related shows and DVR them. I have some new favorite ones from the Magnolia Network like The Lost Kitchen. I like to collect multiple episodes and then binge watch.  And I only watch local news just to keep up with community happenings and the weather. I find I’m happier not watching national news. Doesn’t mean that I don’t know what is going on in the world though. So I’d hug our local weather person if I ever had the chance.

I agree with Sandi and Gerry about @msmayor, it’s been almost a month since we last heard from her. Does anyone have her email?

Bruce @aliaschief — congratulations to your DW on her retirement. Also, it’s refreshing to read your positive attitude about getting ill on a cruise. Things can happen anywhere anytime and it’s how you deal with it that creates your experience.  In other words—Thank you for not being negative.

Terri @Cruzin Terri — Safe travels 🛫🌎 and enjoy Barcelona. We will be there in 8 weeks. May I ask where you are staying?  We decided to do a HAL hotel and are staying at the Hotel Claris. Thanks for mentioning the Magnolia Network -- both you, Sharon, and @StLouisCruisers.  I'd never heard of it.  Did some research and we do get it here on our Spectrum.  The programming looks very inviting -- with a more gentle look than some of the cooking shows.  And the old historic home renovations stuff looks fun to watch as well.

There's so many channels now, it's very hard to keep up.  Looking forward to enjoying this one.  😍
