If they start playing to an empty house they'll figure it out.

Actually, that's exactly what Royal wants. The dont want people spending 90 minutes watching a free show, they want them spending $$$ at the casino & bars.

I predict every ship in the fleet will soon have CATS on board.  😅

Yes, my memory is definitely not as good as it was but music activates a special area of our brains. I bet you can sing ad jingles from a long time ago.
🎶plop plop fizz fizz oh what a relief it is🎶

🎶 see the USA in your Chevrolet🎶

My 10th grade French teacher taught us two long lists we had to memorize by setting them to music.  50+ years later I can still recite them letter perfect.  Music memory is different.

I know every word from the song Tequila by The Champs.

Usually there is at least one song that everyone seems to know from a musical.I have been to two productions of CATS and cannot recall one.

Seriously🤔

Back in the day it was common for most ships to have one show that was a compilation of Broadway hits. Memory was always on of those numbers.

Don't cry for me Argentina

Music of the night

Sunrise, Sunset

Etc.....

As long as people will show up and sit through it, it will stay on the ship.  If they start playing to an empty house they'll figure it out.

Actually, it makes no difference whatsoever.  There is no way RCCL would make a change before the scheduled end of the show.  Costs too much to tear down the set, install a new one, train a new cast, etc..

One thing you LIKED about CATS and one thing you did NOT like about CATS...

Okay, here we go.

1: Loved: Having been on the Oasis a few times with a copious amount of family, I have to say Royal Caribbean is absolutely brilliant.  Oasis is the ultimate ship for families.  Cats is the one unifying thing that our large bickering multi-generational family could agree upon.  We all hated it.  Even the cat lovers in the family hated it and started reassessing their relationships with their feline friends.  I don't know if anyone went so far as to contact the SPCA but it was close.  It was a dark depressing mess.  On subsequent cruises on Oasis, we joked about it and avoided it.  So, RCI, thank you for reuniting my family!

2: Hated:  Being duped and subjected to utter despair on a family cruise.  I, like others, can remember Cats when it was on Broadway.  I didn't see it, but wanted to due to non-stop commercials promoting it as well as "Memories."  When we went on Oasis for the first time, we were all very excited to see "one of the greatest Broadway Musicals ever."  We watched the opening scenes and were confused, by the plot, by the utter darkness and despair.   We all collectively left, we could not make it through the torture.  In hindsight, I am convinced that the number of people who proclaim how great Cats is only do so, so they can inflict it on others.  So, they too will know their pain.

Thank goodness we attended the early show on the cruise and got out early.  We were left with joy in our hearts that we were alive and could enjoy the sun and each other.

Jersey Boys, Hamilton, Chicago, can't Royal come up with something not so depressing.

I have to say in reading everyone's comments that those who hate Mamma Mia and Grease seem to like Cats.  For us, its true, we love Mamma Mia and Grease and have no tolerance for Cats regarding it as a Wasteland.  Note to self, burn any books in house from T.S. Eliot.
