Hello from the Majestic Princess!

We are day 4 of our 5 day crossing to Hawaii!

The last two days we have had calm seas and sun shine! (with a little bit of rain yesterday afternoon!).

Calm seas and sunshine just what you needed.

Thanks for great photo.

Did they have any Hawaiian activities to get you in the mood for Hawaii?

Enjoy Hawaii!

Hi. We live in Statice Ave, runs into the dog park. We are there every morning.👍

We mainly walk along the Broadwater, but go to the dog park in the afternoon, if dogs need a run.

We should have a cruise critic meeting at the dog park (like the Canberra people do).

Nice to see you bringing the Majestic down under.

We are onboard 16 - 29 January.   I like the ship having done a Christmas New Year B2B 2018-2019.  It was quite interesting.  First leg Auckland to Sydney, Second leg Sydney -Sydney.   Huge difference in the pax! First was fun and it was always easy to find a seat and a spot to hangout.  Second cruise (dare I say it) full of noisy Aussies (ok I am half Aussie!).   Still, lots of fun and never a problem to find a spot!

Question Stu - is Crooners still next to the Casino?  It was our favourite hangout after the last show.  Great entertainers and pianists.

29th September 2022:

Aloha! From Honolulu!

We arrived here this afternoon we ended up docking at 1:30pm.

It was about 2:20 - 2:30 pm before the ship was cleared to let passengers ashore.

There was no shuttle buses only taxis and uber at the port.

Here are a few photos of us arriving in to Honolulu this afternoon:

Double Down Bar is next to casino. This used to be Crooners prior to the lockdown. There doesn't appear to be much of a change in layout, but it has taken on a wall of TV screens. It seemed strange for a Crooners to be closed away in a room, but I am sure they will still do an awesome martini there.

Hello from the Majestic Princess!

We are day 2 of our 5 days at sea on our way to Tahiti!

Today the whole of the ship did its second covid test, They did one the day before we got to Honolulu, Hawaii, and I suspect we will get another one before we get to Tahiti and again before we get to New Zealand.

Before the Hawaii covid test we had aprox 22 cases (a crew member told us) of covid and apparently after the before Honolulu covid test we had large number of cases of covid, but that has NOT been confirmed! (This came from a passenger, but I don’t know where that info came from).

Our covid test is neg, again 😊

At this stage of their journey, Carnival Splendor was also getting tests, but the lack of positives meant the passengers could go mask free for the final part of their crossing.

Not what I wanted to hear though, and I hope they can at least prevent numbers from going up. On the numbers you gave, the ship would be at code yellow, and I know there are plenty of passengers staying aboard for the following cruise - our cruise.

Sounds a bit serious Geoff, testing all on board. Here hoping the numbers are down pre arrival in Sydney.  We do not wish for another Ruby Princess/Diamond Princess disaster.

It had TV screens when it was Crooners. It was a horrible bar.

They have been juggling this now for months, and have been pretty successful at it. Scheduled testing on longer cruises does prevent a massive surprise at the end of the cruise. Hospitalisations from cruise ships are so rare, that there is no way you could compare anything to Diamond or Ruby.

For numbers, these are the highest risk - passengers transiting from various countries and cities, then sharing a confined space for a month. 22 is a blip on 4500+, but happy if it remains as a blip, everyone is isolated in time, and recovered in the next 17 days.
