This a great bonus for all your traveling companions or new friends, the vouchers are completely shareable with others.

If I ever make Diamond I do plan to share said vouchers for a slight service charge, cash only.

I can see good and bad. I will like that if I am out after midnight I don't have to make sure I use my vouchers by then and have to cut into my next day's drinks. I get freebies in the casino so this will actually be good for me.  But the bad is on the last night I could use the 4 from the last night then my 4 from the debarkation day as I don't get anything in the morning before I leave.

I do not think you will get 4 for debarkation day.

If you drink 4 drinks a day, it doesn't matter when they become available to you. The only thing this is going to do is save RCI some money on the drinks available on the final day. Using the current schedule, your drinks reload at midnight which means you could drink your 4 from the first day before midnight and then 4 more after midnight from the following day's allotment. Now those people won't be able to get those free drinks after midnight. As usual, RCI is putting a twist on it to make it seem like it is better for us.

Many people don't seem to see how this is a subtle cutback, but it is.

In the past when things reset at midnight on the last day of the cruise you could get your drinks and then at midnight you got another set of drinks loaded. Now on the last day you get your drinks and you are done as there is not reset at midnight.

I don't see this as a positive change.

Look, if they wanted to save money, all they had to do was announce that the drinks end at midnight on the last night and stop this free drinks on debarkation nonsense.

This 8th day drink loophole should never of happened 😉

From RCCL:

"We know how much you love these drink vouchers, and we want to make sure you’re getting the most out of this benefit! We’re excited to share that we’re changing the daily schedule so that these vouchers are now redeemable from 5:00 AM to 4:59 AM the next day. What does this mean? It means that your daily complimentary vouchers will now reset at 5:00 AM every morning allowing you to get more out of this benefit during prime hours of each day, including your after-midnight drinks".

"We will be rolling out these changes beginning on all sailings departing on or after December 16th, 2022".

No particular reason for posting this other than for information purposes incase someone hasn't gotten it.  And I do think this is a good thing.

It’s not a rumor but an actual announcement. 🤣

Just another cost cutting measure by RCL. How many of RCLs customer’s are just going to continue bending over? I know I am not!

Are you serious. Debarkation day was never part of the voucher program.

I don’t know, the way I look at it; my benefit is 35 drinks over the course of a 7 day cruise.

That hasn’t changed with this new schedule.

I see your point. I guess the way to look at it is that when you get up in the morning you get a certain number of drinks and that is renewed when you get up the next morning.... or whatever time of day you happen to role out of bed. It may actually work better on port days when you get back to the ship later. Now people will have more time to spread out their drinks unless they tend to be in bed before midnight.

Email told me the drink vouchers day has been changed from Midnight to Midnight and is now 5 Am to 5 Am.  As a person who is not yet diamond and I have not had a drink since 1989, I am so happy to be kept up to date on the alcohol nonsense.

I just went to the vitality spa and got 2 vitamin waters and a granola bar. You dont have to drink to enjoy free drinks.

I don't recall saying it was a rumor, did I?  In fact, what I posted was an actual "cut and Paste" of the email I got as evidenced by the " and " before and after each paragraph.

EDITED IN:  disregard, I see what you were referring to, the title. My bad!  I should have put a ? at the end of the title, I guess.  My post would have then been more of a confirmation post!

For some it would be forty. We have never had a problem getting a early morning Bloody Mary in the Windjammer on debarkation day morning.  Now I suspect nothing will be loaded at 5am on debarkation day.

Amazing that people who get $500 in value think they're getting screwed because they can't get $505.

Sure, but how about another trick. Grabbing beers with leftover vouchers. They stopped that pre 2020 with the old 3 voucher program.

It was eventually virtually impossible to grab unopened beers. They were instructed to open them.

Now, I've seen that onboard with the new program, but the staff lets it slide since it keepsvus happy. I can see management enforcing that next year.

I did do that a couple of times on my last cruise.  I learned about it here on CC.  It's another thing I would never have thought of.  Thank you CC

And as a type II DIABETIC with a heart healthy diet I drink none of those.  Of course RCI does not know that, they just want everyone to know everything.

As a previous Diabetic who cleaned up her diet and is now a Pre-diabetic (not sure that's something about which to brag), I'll add this:  You can have an Iced Coffee with cream and sugar-substitute.  And you can have a diet soda.

I'm trying to understand, but I don't get it.  Where's the cutback?

- You still get 4 drinks per day.

- Are we SURE drinks don't start until 5pm (after sail-away), or does the first day start at 5 am before we board?

- Even if it doesn't start until 5pm, you have twelve hours to drink that first day's drinks.

That's a great idea ... not that my husband would ever have "leftover" beer.

Love the change.  Not major, but it's nice to see them listening to guests and making some adjustments.  Once we're D in March, those vouchers will certainly help keep us coming back making the decision to cruise other lines more difficult.  It will always come down to the itinerary, ship and value though.

Diamond+

Why not just give me 5 vouchers per day X number of days (cruise) and let me decide when to use them. What difference would that make? This way, I may only want 3 drinks one day and want 7 another day. It would still amount to 5 vouchers per day X number of cruise days.

It is a 7 days cruise so the very last day (#8) is not a day for departing guests.

I was confused about the new voucher hours, since corrected but I am confused on this statement. If day 8 is not the departure day for guests, when do you get off the ship?  On day 7 as the ship is heading back to port of origin yet still at sea???
