Sailing on Summit in May. We usually have the Free at Sea booze package on NCL but with the high cost of the full meal deal on Celebrity are opting out this time. So where can we find the best deals (besides the Casino at 9 in the morning 😀) .Does the champagne flow freely at the art auctions? What about buckets of beer at a reduced price? Any bars charge less than others?  TIA

Sounds like you are ready to party, on the cheap.... LOL

You may want to check your CP often just in case there is a sale on CBP, other than that the casino until it closes while you are gambling, I do not know about flowing champagne at the Art Auction, but it is certainly there for the asking and you will want to check the daily planner for the 'drinks of the day specials'...

I Am sure others will chime in on other opportunities, if available.

Cheers and bon voyage

How is it Free on NCL when you still have to pay for the gratuities?
what is Full meal deal ? Is that specialty restaurant? Which are over rated

There is no champagne at the art auction , it anything it cheap sparkling wine🤮

You are allowed to bring 4 bottles of wine to your cabin, but if you put 2 in each of your bags that could increase your amount 😉

NCL's Free At Sea drinks package runs about $150 for the week per person in gratuities for a 7 night cruise. That's about as cheap a drinks package as you will find on any cruise line that doesn't include the alcohol.

All bars charge the same for the same drinks to my knowledge. That's pretty much the same for all cruise lines. The only time you find 'different' pricing is when there's a variation to the drink in one bar to the next. I've honestly never seen a bucket of beer on a Celebrity ship, someone else will have to chime in about that.

Celebrity is not a 'booze cruise' cruise line. If you're looking for that, and just getting plastered each night with friends, you might be disappointed. The cheapest drinks will be the frozen concoctions at the pool bars which are my least favorite onboard. I tend to pay extra at the World Class Bar for the crafted cocktails.

But the cruise price is also increased to get that package , just like Celebrity

But like Celebrity and all cruise lines, there are great deals to be had on NCL. But overall, the cost of the cruise with the drinks package included will be cheaper on NCL than Celebrity.

Best drink package pricing is on NCL and Princess Plus at the moment, outside of Virgin Voyages Bar Tab.  That Bar Tab is actually my favorite drinks package to be honest, it works so well.

Ok you are paying for a Celebrity cruise over NCL and you want to drink a lot maybe but for free or a very reduced price?  Why cruise Celebrity?

You would be better off with a Classic Drinks package if you want  a drink more than once or twice a day. I don't know what dinner package you speak of, but I would go for the drink package over a dining package. The food in the buffet and MDR is quite good. Also with the drinks package you get coffees and sodas as well as alcohol. And as mentioned above, you are allowed to bring on boarding day 2 bottles of wine for each adult in a cabin. This should be in your carry on luggage.

Love your perspective on this...

Thank you...

If you have sailed before on Celebrity, there is a Captain's party with free drinks once every cruise.

Also, Celebrity allows 2 bottles of wine per person so take advantage of that.

We just got off the Edge and we were on a cruise only fare.BCC free cruise .We bought a bucket of beer on two different days. One day they charged is the weather $33 the second day  $28 ? The same bucket but they charged was cheaper the second time? It is on the app at pool bar menu.My DH would drink a couple then take to the room

We also brought our four bottles of wine on board. And are now elite plus so we had happy hour every day.! We tipped from the beginning and got great service and cocktails ! we also booked a Cabana on the edge and it came with comfy couches, six beers, four large waters, and a full liter of vodka that we did not even finished by the time the cruise was over.We did take it to the hotel after though.

if you can upgrade your cruise at time of booking to add the package that is a good deal. If you have to do a completely separate, We decided it is not a good financial deal for us..

Well,, the drink package is about $82,  so if the drinks are $14 each, you'd need to have 6 or so a day to break even on the drink package.  I'm trying to choose between just the package or not myself.  The 2 bottles of wine each will cover our sea days pretty much....

You missed the boat so to speak. Celebrity use to hand out glasses of champagne when you first boarded the ship on embarkation day. 🥂

Off topic but did the CC have the Music and Mixology in the Club on one of the evenings on the Edge? We just got off the Apex and the CC had that event. We really enjoyed it. Currently it's not fleetwide but the CC host told us it was being discussed for the entire fleet.

If the Edge was doing it you would have received an invitation left in your stateroom for the place, day and time. Fun and entertaining event. We hope it goes fleetwide.  Lasted about 45 to-50 minutes.

Also have to take into account if you want any of the coffees from Cafe Bacio and waters etc.  With AI that includes the grats which is 17-20ish depending on room it works out well for many.  I get a lot of coffees and teas from the cafe do not have to worry about liking or not liking a drink.  I agree does not work out for everyone but for me its a no brainer, since I do need the internet to track work emails also at times.

If you want free alcohol or mocktails, gamble in the casino and order while playing. Celebrity gives you free drinks while you are actively gambling with your players card in the machine. The bar server will take down your room number and ask you if you have a drinks, package, and you just say no. This was advertised every day of our cruise

drinks that are always free are coffee, tea, filtered water, orange juice, lemonade, and fruit juice, though some of those are only available at certain times.

Don't forget that a 20% gratuity will be add to the $82 so the Classic package so $98.40 pp per day.

Price is higher if you want to purchase the package onboard.
