I'm fairly ignorant about this stuff, but she did say it was CC she was having problems with. It might be that for other sites the internet on the ship is just fine. I ran into this kind of thing on Carnival. I have a site that I frequent that requires sign-in and only one device at at time can be signed in. On Carnival I can sign in, but after a few minutes I get kicked off with the message I have signed in from a different IP address. I think that Carnival's wifi switches connections frequently and that creates the problem. Other sites had no problem.

 

But, as I said, I'm fairly ignorant about this stuff.

Megan has always been able to do “lives” from other ships/cruise lines, I have followed them often.

Someone else mentioned that maybe she maxed out her data. Sometimes ships limit your internet activity if you use too much data. It’s possible that’s what happened. But I follow all of her reviews and I’ve never seen her have a problem on other ships/cruise lines.

I have done live reviews with lots of pictures and have followed numerous others who did live reviews as well.  There is no such thing as ‘maxing out’ the data plan as there is no plan for the shipboard WiFi.  I know CC is a big problem with the basic package but understood she had upgraded to the premium WiFi so that should have fixed her initial problem.

No and it is why a couple of us overreacted to her disappearance. Brew up a little drama and disappear! Yikes.  Obviously she is fine and will tell us more when she can.

Not sure the exact rules about linking to that site from here or I would post a link for you. His name on there is Benny Ben. He is the first result for me but that could be the algorithm knowing I've viewed him before. If you cannot find him easily, do a search from the public group over there called royal Caribbean dining, he is a frequent contributor there. 

 

I was not aware he lied about his occupation, he was truthful to me when I made a comment on one of his lives that I found him on Fb. I was not asking him, just commenting how thin and fit he was for someone who ate so much and he offered the details about his profession.  I believe it was from a royal review but he did so many I honestly have no idea now which one it was lol. That is unfortunate that he was not truthful to everyone.

 

It's funny you mention you don't believe he ate that much, I was looking at his photos last night on fb (where he is not camera shy like on here) and in every photo you don't actually see him eating, but holding the food up to his mouth with a smile and I began to wonder the same thing. Seemed staged. Also from the angle of the photos, he is clearly not traveling alone unless he is setting up a tripod everywhere he goes.

 

His posts on there have dropped off since March so perhaps his traveling days have slowed down, but he was definitely still traveling for a couple months after he disappeared from cc.

 

If you do find him, his posts are not near as entertaining as his live reviews. These feel like advertising pieces. Still very lovely photos and lots and lots of food porn though.

 

Wish him well wherever he is and whatever he is doing these days.

I don't want to continue to hijack Megan's thread, but this Benny Brun situation reminds me a lot of Cruise Life Rick. He disappeared suddenly never to return either and I think I read that he too was getting promotional deals elsewhere. Anyone else remember that?

I don't think Meagan will be upset.  She posted on another social site that she can not access CC via the internet on Celebrity.  She can access other sites but not CC.

 

I followed all of Benny's live reviews, I thought they were very informative etc.  I found him on the other social media site and I was VERY surprised.  Not what I had pictured in my mind.

I have never heard of Cruise Life Rick, sorry.  I think it is unfortunate that these influencers "love em and leave em" but that is their job I guess.  Another reason to be very careful what we all post out there on the internet!

A suggestion to those wondering "Where did that reviewer go?" for the long lost ones-- Google their screen name. I just looked up the two main ones you folks are discussing (before my time), and found them fairly quickly, and posting regularly. 

 

Anyway, I hope you're having a lovely time Megan, and I have crossed this ship off my wish list as I need actually useful internet on sea days to work from ship!

My guess is she did not actually upgrade to premium.  It is known you can’t access CC from the basic Wi-Fi. We will be getting on tomorrow and I got my DH premium so he can keep tabs on his business

I will say (and I hope the mods are watching this thread)- when I was on the Carnival Dream back in December, the CC mobile website was really, really challenging to work with on iPad OS, but was fine on android for the most part. I could never get the full desktop version of the site to load, though, which is what stopped me from posting a Live at the time.

 

I know Megan is experiencing a different issue potentially, but CC should know their website is buggy.

yeah she sent me screenshots. She can get to the website but it isn’t loading posts.

CC hasn’t worked very well with safari for a couple years. I have to use different browsers. She’s tried different browsers, private mode…it says the desktop version is unavailable.

We stop there on our Celebration cruise, and we've never been to St.  Marten.

They’ve really built it up. Nice facilities and bathrooms. Vendors, yes. Rentals. All the normal beach things now.

 We’re all so very glad to have you back and reporting on CC once again.  I watched you sail in this morning on the Port Everglades Webcamera.  Looking forward to boarding in three or four more hours.
