Zenith access to Retreat Lounge

I feel that all of the cutbacks started with the elimination of Zeniths from MC/Retreat. It was the shift in emphasis from loyalty that was the problem. Perhaps the reevaluation of the core philosophy starts now. Some tried to warn of the changes in corporate philosophy, but were called "complainers" or "whiners" by other posters.

Would be really nice if this was the start of an overall direction correction. Somehow, I doubt it.

I haven't and so long as we're included I really don't care if I'm on the list of recipients.

For years I never received any marketing e-mails.  I made a number of phone calls, talked to concierges while on the ship and so forth.  Kept signing up for the marketing e-mails, but never received them.  Then for a year or so I received them, only to now never receive a thing.  While we do receive express notifications regarding itinerary changes, when we don't receive one of these letters to Zeniths I wonder what else we are not receiving.

Say "hi" to C. for me.

Same - most my clothes are washed on delicate and cold so basically nothing would come back in good condition if I handed my clothes over to them

At home, I wash all my clothes on the delicate  cycle with cold water.  On X, I have had no problems with sending my clothes to laundry.  I do not sent items such as silk blouses (laundry did ruin one 6 or 7 years ago) or anything else I might be concern about about.

The ships have become increasingly loud and the lounge was a great way of escaping that.

Really?  Personally, I can think of a myriad of adjectives to describe cruising on Celebrity. Loud wouldn’t even make my top twenty. Would you mind elaborating?  Genuinely curious.

ps.  I haven’t sailed E class yet…are they noisy?

Thank you Celebrity for bringing this perk back to the loyal customers who have obtained Zenith level...

I am almost there... will make it in early 2024 and I was starting to wonder if it was worth it.... as access to the Retreat Lounge was a major perk draw for us... often we are in a suite but not always....

IMHO E class is considerably more noisy than S or M class.

A big "thank you" to those who posted their letter regarding the reinstatement of Zeniths.  This Zenith hasn't received a copy -- and no -- it didn't appear in the junk folder.  Are we the only pair of Zeniths on this thread who didn't receive a copy?  Given our time zone difference with the rest of the US I'll be on the phone tomorrow asking why.

DH got one, and I didn't.  We both receive other Celebrity emails.  I just don't get their IT processes!

Here's are a couple of examples.  I could give more, like the loud music in the Martini Bar of an early evening when it's been tough to hear my friends speak. I used to love that place, but the music drove me away. And I'm not a fan of the musak that's piped around areas like the Lawn Club either. If I want music up there I have some great noise cancelling headphones. Which are now used to good effect! Lol

Yes the exact thing has happened to me.  Long stretches of no emails from Celebrity, neither marketing or Captain's Club.  Tried to fix it many times.  Usually the fix worked for a short time.  On and off.  Currently on but who knows for how long?  The only email I could always count on was my payment reminders.  They never miss one of those!😀

Waiting for hours.  This news comes just as we are  preparing to sail again.  For us the lounge for embarking and disembarking were a welcome quiet zone on stressful days.

I have noticed recently that Celebrity has been emailing me offers of numerous 3 to 6 day Caribbean cruises.  I wish they would go back to doing more 12 - 14 day cruises.

Yes, I definitely prefer the 12-14 day cruises!  (I am seeing, on the shorter cruises, increased examples of highly intoxicated guests.  Apparently the alcohol affects their hearing because they must yell at the person next to them or across the table from them.)

I’m the same way with my laundry at home and I’ve had exactly the same experience with ship’s laundry. The only things I don’t send out are extreme delicates. I’ve never had anything shrink or be damaged in any way. The only quirk experienced was on our Antarctica cruise when I received one pair of someone else’s underwear! Don’t know how that happened. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Nice of Celebrity to restore.

Smart move, now that were mostly passed the Covid problem. It really is a good feeling getting back the perk. Hey they could have just moved on at this point but chose to look and offer this give back that makes little difference with the effect it will have on Suite folks

Great move Celebrity

Little effect on suite passengers paying 10k plus for a suite on celebrity. I remember sailing on royal on grandeur in a grand suite.  The suite lounge was occupied exclusively by pinnacles entire cruise. The concierge was going crazy trying to get them to stop taking every chair and table. So sorry it’s great people have loyalty but I am not dishing out mega bucks and not being able to use facilities because someone sailed in an inside room 100 times. I pick a suite for the very reason of full access to those lounges and amenities and not having 100 people hanging in that room. It’s like royal with their diamond lounge pinnacles have access to suite lounge but me as a suite guest can’t access the diamond lounge. I tried got through door because card opened it and got escorted out.

This isn't RCL!  Totally different situation.   The numbers of Zenith are a fraction of the Pinnacle on RCL.  It's virtually impossible to get to Zenith these days without sailing in suites.    Yes some Zeniths (myself included) no longer sail in suites because we are forced to pay for benefits we get complimentary with status).  But I think you will find on most sailings a good number of the Zeniths are in suites anyway.   Most sailings there are less than a dozen Zeniths total onboard.   Some of the unique itineraries have numbers up in the low twenties but the announcement addressed the crowding issue where additional lounge space will be provided when required.

I think you will find Celebrity Zenith passengers are polite, well traveled, well behaved people who can be a joy to converse with.   You probably won't even know who they are until you notice they aren't dining in Luminae😀

I recently came back from Reflection in a Sky Suite,I much preferred Ensemble Lounge.

I hardly walk into MC on my 10 days cruise and I am a Zenith member.

I was the Top cruiser of this sailing.

Not all Zeniths like MC.

I think that's the upshot. When on X I'm in a suite, and I've never seen the Retreat Lounge even halfway filled (other than disembarkation day), and that includes fully sold out cruises. I have no issue with 15-25 Zeniths using the lounge (again).

Even disembarkation day I don’t even go to MC.I just wait and enjoy my morning coffee at Ai Bacio and wait until they call my number.
