Thank you for today's daily reports.

It is sunny and 54°F.

There was a baptism during church service today.

Today's food sounds good.

We have sailed into Stockholm during our Baltic's cruise on Royal Caribbean Serenade of the seas.

Prayers 🙏 for our care list and our friends in Israel and Ukraine.

I hope everyone is safe and well.

Good morning.  Thanks for the Report.

A typical fall day here, a high of 8°C (46°F) and cloudy.  Lots of leaves need to be raked.

A good collection of days, we all make a difference.  It's important to be a good neighbour.  Fossils are fascinating.  I love nuts, and there may be a few who post on this thread.😉

Great quote.

I like the meal, not sure about the drink or wine.

We were in Stockholm many years ago during a Baltic Sea cruise.

Prayers for our world.

Have a peaceful day.

Good morning friends!  It's about 57F here and will rise to 75 with a mix of sun and clouds.  Thank you to Rich @richwmn for the Daily and Fleet Report for Sunday, October 22.

Three (or four) interesting days to consider today.  A quote that goes on and on.  I would try the chicken marsala but not the drink.  What kind of wine is that?  Very odd name!  Two good days in history to remember and appreciate.  Thanks to our ladies Debbie @dfish, Dixie @summer slope, and Ann @cat shepard for your reports today!  I didn't watch but looks like the Michigan Wolverines wiped the floor with Michigan State's Spartans this year 49 to 0.  Hail to the Victors!

Prayers definitely needed for the people of Israel and Ukraine.  Thankful for the two American hostages released recently.  Prayers also for the Daily Care list people, and hoping for improvement for all.  Hoping Vanessa @JazzyV has less pain, tingling and numbness in her leg.  Thanks Vanessa for posting the C&C lists for us today.  Special prayers for my DB, Scott and Mark.🙏  Welcome home to Jacqui @kazu, Tina @0106, and @StPeteCruiser!!  Congrats to all the celebrating folks here!  Enjoy your special events and family visits.  Smooth seas to all the sailors.  Interesting to note we have 2 BHB's overnighting in Istanbul at the same time.

The port is a good one today, Stockholm, Sweden.  It was our port on July 5, 2022 so I'll copy the link here for you.  Thanks for everyone's pictures today.  I've been there once up till now (going again next year) so will post some photos from that trip.

Have a great Sunday!  Photos coming up next.

Good evening all. We were in Stockholm on the Zuiderdam in June 2018.

If you do get to go to Stockholm then visit the Vasa museum, it was one of the most fascinating museums I have ever visited. Stockholm is a beautiful city, very walkable and the Ho Ho boats are a great way of getting around as well.

Best wishes to all.

Thank you for today’s FR & D, Rich! Day two of not being able to bold any words. 🤔 It is 53 and a bit foggy this morning, but the planets are showing through.

Vanessa, thank you for keeping up with our happenings. Praying that the epidural kicks in.

Gym, Aldi, Bindi walks, more gardening, & inside chores should keep me busy.

That goes for you, too @HAL Sailer Melissa, praying you take time for yourself & enlist the help of others. I was happy to read that DH is home.

Cheers to all who are celebrating!

May we each find something to smile about today.

2018 Latta Dana Dibble Syrah Walla Walla

This Syrah is tempered a bit by the addition of a bit of Viognier. It is lovely, rich, and smooth. And wonderful with or without food. I found a few online distributors with prices starting at $48.00.

Vintner notes

94 pts. Owen Bargreen

91 Wine Enthusiast

98% Syrah, 2% Viognier all sourced from Freewater Rocks Vineyard. The 2018 Dana opens with a wild nose that melds incense, blackberry cobbler and warm earth. Always an expansive palate full of the fresh funky flavors of the rocks, it carries on with intense depth of fruit and lilac notes typical of Tablas Clone Syrah. Lush tannins lift to the long finish.

Freewater Rocks vineyard is located in the Rocks District of Walla Walla. Planted in 2000 in the core of Freewater Cobbly Loam this is an OG vineyard site with four generations of fruit farming behind it. The wine carries "Dana Dibble" for the man who grew up on the dirt, the third-generation farmer who transformed these hardscrabble orchards into the manicured rows of vines standing among the stones today. Dana and Andrew have collaborated on many vintages and vineyard projects over the years, this wine goes out to the man on the tractor.

Good Morning,  thanks for today's daily fleet report.  The rain stopped but the wind remains.  Yesterday I picked up some cashews so I'll celebrate nut day by having some.  I'd like today's meal suggestion if someone else does the cooking.  I'm planning on making a ham with sweet potatoes and a vegetable to be named later.  I think this mornings chore will be a deep clean to the bedroom.  I hope everyone has a good day today.

Tucker curled up beside me last night.

Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie for the Sunday report.  I try to make a difference, have helpful neighbors, appreciate fossils, and eat a handful of nuts every day.

I visited Stockholm on a land trip in 2003 and on the Elegant Explorer in 2015.  ..

I like the Wiesel quote.  While Edison's invention is now superseded by technological improvements it was a certain game changer.  Standardized time zones were also a game changer.

Chicken Marsala sounds nice.  My alternative is Chilled Peach and Ginger Soup, Spice Crusted Prime Rib, and Apricot Crisp

Ooh, we are recognizing an extra day today 🤭 a neighbor helped us  by mowing the weeds in front of our house by the cluster box - I don't know who it was so don't know who to thank.

Will have to read through that quote again, maybe a few times - there's a lot in it.

The chicken sounds good, don't know about the drink, read what @cat shepard posted about the wine but still don't know if I'd try it, not been to Sweden but my car came from there🤭🤔

2 great, impactful days worthy of recognition.

66° headed to 88°, glad to see the 90s have been removed from the forecast. Rain still expected as we leave on Wed.

Suitcases are out begging to be packed - no choice but to get it done today since the next 2 days will be very heavy work days and we leave Wed. As the little odds and ends arrive, I've been tossing them into the suitcase so I won't forget any of them.

Still no definitive answer on if if we'll be in Olympia as scheduled or Split instead - Navigator App and HAL website do not match. So we're keeping Olympia tickets and leaving Split open, we'll just wing it 🫣

DH got his intl DL so we're all set for our 4x4 excursion. He says it's just enough bigger than his passport that it won't fit into the passport holder - lovely. You'd think 2 international documents could be the same size.🙄

I will go to both PT and Chiro again before we leave - hope they get my shoulder moving a bit more, it seems to have lost some motion after the jabs and still hurts.

Fur babies already know something is up - they're all being super clingy. That's the hardest part of traveling - leaving the fur babies behind. But life w/o them just would not be as good. 🐕 🐕 🐈

Prayers and positive thoughts for all.

Good morning,

I am exhausted but a good exhausted. I had fun with the grands but definitely need a rest.
I have been to today’s port in 2018 on the Zuiderdam. I agree the Vasa museum was a highlight especially for my DH.

Happy belated birthday Lady Hudson. How special to celebrate with twin. Prayers for all. The list never seems to shrink. Bon Voyage and happy sailing. I am glad that list seems to grow.

Have a great day,IMG_3566.thumb.jpeg.3562edf93d7198bd5147d2713b822721.jpeg

Good morning from central Texas where it is 66F and feels like 66F.  The humidity is 72% with a dew point of 56F.  Our high today will be 87F with cloudy skies.  Tomorrow it looks like we'll be having a pretty good chance of rain starting about the time we are to leave for UTSW and DH's four week post op check up with the surgeon.  The rain will be even heavier about the time we will be heading home.  It looks like it will be raining off and on through Thursday.  We need the rain, but I hope it holds off until we are back home tomorrow.

Make a difference day is good, and our neighbors help each other whenever needed.  Fossils are interesting, and nuts are good.

The Elie Wiesel quote is very interesting and thought provoking.

Chicken Marsala sounds good, but I'd prefer someone else to make it for me, maybe on a BHB.  We'll pass on the drink and the wine.

We have been to Stockholm twice on BHBs.  I agree that the Vasa Museum was very good, and we enjoyed the ABBA Museum also.

The invention of the light bulb among other inventions by Edison changed the world, as did the addition of longitudes, with Greenwich being the Prime Meridian.

@kazu Jackie, @0106  Tina, and @St Pete Cruiser welcome home, and I hope  your cruise was everything you wanted it to be.

@Lady Hudson  Katherine, I'm glad the joint birthday was good and that your DH is doing well at home.

@Heartgrove Jack, thanks for the beautiful picture.

It's time to look up my pictures of Stockholm and then start housecleaning.

Nice picture - now it's there and it is very nice. I would say it's "puzzle worthy" That's our term for really nice pictures that we'd like to make into puzzles then frame after putting them together.

You must have been adding the picture as I was reading your post.

Good morning, everyone!

The wedding yesterday was very nice and my niece was radiant as the bride.  This morning we are going to DS Barb's for an after wedding brunch and to watch the football game before we drive home.  Go Lions!

Today's meal is a great one.  It is described as an Italian American dish with chicken cutlets and mushrooms in a rich marsala wine sauce.  It sound heavenly.  https://www.onceuponachef.com/recipes/chicken-marsala.html

We have been to Stockholm twice on BHBs.  In 2003 on a 33 day roundtrip from NYC on Rotterdam VI, we stopped in Stockholm as part of the Baltic portion of the cruise.  In 2016, on a Baltic cruise on Prinsendam, we spent another day exploring the city.  The first time, we walked around town, and the second time we took the Ho-Ho and the water Ho-Ho to see more of the area.  The pictures are from both visits.

Good morning everyone.  Thanks for the Daily and Fleet Reports @richwmn.   I will celebrate today with some nuts during the football game.   Elie Weisel was a true messenger for what happened in the Holocaust and that indifference to other people's plights and hate can have horrifying consequences.  I am sure he is enshrined in the Nobel Peace Museum in Oslo.  A very good quote from him.  Thanks everyone so far today for the lovely photos of Stockholm.

Thanks @dfishfor today's Marsala recipes.  They all look yummy.   @summer slope I will pass on the bitter cocktail but thanks for researching these each day.   @cat shepard today's wine looks like a winner, since the name is unfamiliar I bet it is hard to find.

@JazzyV I hope that you will continue to get some relief from you epidural.   Prayers for everyone on our care list and the people in war zones of Israel, Ukraine and Gaza.    Prayers for our members who are dealing with loss and other lifetime events such as severe illness of loved ones.

@Smmessineo  Bon Voyage!

Good Mornings! I have been reading but not posting except occasionally on Jacqui’s live thread.  Thank you for the “welcome home” @JazzyV @StLouisCruisers @Quartzsite Cruiser

We self disembarked at 7:40 and have been sitting at the gate at FLL since 8:30 waiting for our 10:40 flight so I have time to post.

We enjoyed all the ports; my DH especially enjoyed our trip to Normandy with Overlord tours because his father fought there.  The Roll call organized a book club; we read The Hiding Place.  Although I was not a fan of the book,  I truly admire the action the Ten Boom family took to hide their Jewish neighbors.  Our second book club meeting, we discussed banned books.  Guess I’ve been thinking a lot about WWII.  The Wiesel quote makes me think about the importance of action, not indifference.

We missed our port in the Azores due to high seas.  We had 9 sea days in a row.  Although some people wanted more activity, I truly enjoyed them.

My DH just ask me what we ere having for dinner so I guess it’s back to reality.🤣

Thanks for the Daily and Fleet Report. And for Graham’s link to Fr David’s message.

The quote is interesting, the meal sounds good but I’m not up to anything but the basics now. Edison made leaps in progress, and I didn’t know the Meridian conference was in the US, not until it was listed here just recently. 🤔

To me fossils are boring. I had to take paleontology classes for my geology degree, and as a grad student on a teaching assistantship I taught some paleontology labs. The chemical processes of fossilization can be interesting, as is the utility of using fossils to identify similar time horizons across far reaches of the globe, but the endless taxonomy and memorization is boring for me.  It’s good that somebody likes it.

Good to see that so many of the DHs are improving!  Exhausting for the DWs. Please take care of yourselves too!   For me it’s always been a mixed feeling bringing DH home from hospital, especially in our former abode, rural and far from support. His knee surgeon twice had us stay in hotel near hospital for first night, just in case.

@smitty34877 Terry, you are absorbing a lot of change and managing difficult situations now. You will need a vacation at some point, maybe a cruise or maybe something else, but you’ll know when the timing is right.

I’m excited for all our cruisers and especially those prepping, pre-packing and getting ready!  Enjoy it all!  Welcome home Jacquie, Tina and St Pete Cruiser.

Vanessa, glad you are on the Care List!  Thanks for keeping track of all of us!

@Cruzin Terri Wishing you better days starting now!

I’m making progress doing what I can to be organized for the packers. Getting a lot of loose stuff readied, some boxing, some tossing out! Some giving away. Making lists of what the grandkids will help with when they can make it down from NY with their pickup truck; what will go in the car with us, lots of lists!  Keeping lists in my phone now but had a nightmare I lost my phone!  Most importantly I’m trying to surrender what I can’t control 🙏…  hoping we can get the letter DH needs but if the whole deal falls apart we’ll figure out something else, the universe will not end and we’ll still be ok. Staying calm and keeping faith that it will all work out!

Blessings to each of you, and all the Care list, and all in need of a path forward!  Find something to smile about today and pass it along to someone who needs one.
Maureen
