This widow will be happily following along.  I totally agree with Marion expecting that your friendship will grow and be stronger than ever after this first cruise togather.

Jacqui, I seem to recall a similar rocky start to your TA last fall...hope this isn't going to be a tradition 🤣 Hope you have a wonderful time. You mentioned a port change - will the Volendam still be stopping in Newport? I was hoping to drive down to see her.

Bon Voyage!

Oh that was just a 10 hour delay.  Ugh.  I’ve decided I am not lucky 😜

this was trickier waiting for the 95th hour to be cleared which was not anticipated but we are here and life is good.

We do stop in Newport but the time has been shortened severely.

Bon Voyage to two lovely ladies. Enjoy dinner with Poohby Joe and his parents.

We had a lovely time with Poohby Joes’ parents.  They didn’t bring him tonight.  I guess he is confined to the condominium 😂

I, too, will be traveling solo for my first time tomorrow on the Volendam.  My DH passed away on January 3, 2024.  We have had over 1000 actually sailing days on HAL.  I feel very comfortable with the wonderful crew looking out for me at times.  I will be very anxious to meet up with other women in the same situation of loss of a dear husband to share some of the time with on the cruise.  See you on Sunday on the Volendam!

Please, do come join us at our Meet and Greet - 2 PM in the Crow’s nest on our first sea day (day after embarkation - April 22).  We have a few solos on the cruise and you would be most welcom

kudos to you for doing your first sailing after your loss.  It’s a step we all must take.  I’ve done a few.  It’s not the same and even now still tough at times but just carry on and carry through.

My condolences on your loss 😢. I sadly know how much it hurts 💔

Bon Voyage!  Your friend and you will treasure your time together.  Probably lots of laughs & quite a few drinks!

A few?  LOL.  And maybe a tad of havoc - we’ll see - we will be on good behaviour of course but there are times for laughs.  We’re aiming for those and  not too many tears.

Thank so s much all for the good wishes.  Stay tuned for the goodd, the bad and the ugly (if there is any).  You know me, I call a spade a spade.

I am sailing on Volendam in July to Canada. Looking forward to hearing your opinion of trip. Most interested in is the service. Have heard staff are outstanding. Also what shows they have and yes all about the food. Enjoy!!!

We’re just off the Volendam on a Panama Canal cruise. Service and food were great but the fact that the casino allows smoking means you smell it all over deck 5. Awful. Susan.

Wishing you a ton of fun on this cruise!  I was told years ago that a rocky start makes for a good ending, so I foresee a wonderful cruise.

It was an absolute pleasure to meet up with @kazu

and Debbie at the Riverside Hotel today. Thank you for dinner Jacqui. We really appreciate it.

In case anyone is wondering, people who come to Fort Lauderdale are contractually bound to give snacks and drinks to the locals. 😉

It was great seeing you, and we wish you an awesome cruise!

We will be waving bon voyage to you tomorrow.

I’ll be watching you to make sure you behave! (HA-HA).  Have a fabulous time and win a lot in the casino.  I’m proud of you my friend for going forward and doing what you love.  I know it’s been hard but it’s always about one step at a time.  Wishing you a glorious cruise!

Helen ❤️

Looking forward to following along with you.  Where will you be for sail-away?   I’ll be waving at you from in front of my computer.  Bon Voyage!

I'll have to either mail you snacks and drinks or catch you next time, I'm not leaving the ship!

I think we are going to be at the Sea View Pool.  I didn’t request a wave as everything was so up in the air.  I can try today if it isn’t too late.

You are most welcome Brian 🙂. It was a pleasure chatting with you and Michele.

Good company, good food, good drinks - what else could anyone ask for?

For everyone else - we ate at Golden Lyon at Riverside Hotel Las Olas.  We though the food was good - especially the spinach dip - delish!

Regretfully I forgot about food porn and I told Debbie it was her job to say Food Porn if she didn’t see me get out my phone like Jose used to 😘

Bon voyage Jacqui and Debbie. Enjoy yourselves but watch those stairs…speaking from all-to-recent experience 😝

our flight from AMS was delayed 2.5 hours due to a catering strike in YYZ. It didn’t make the food any better!
