Sunshine3601 Posted Saturday at 12:10 AM #176 Share Posted Saturday at 12:10 AM Nice cabin! I always appreciate the regular size table vs those low little ones. We love getting room service breakfast and enjoy on the balcony whenever we have these tables.

maggieq Posted Saturday at 12:21 AM #178 Share Posted Saturday at 12:21 AM @Sea Dog so happy you are doing this live review. The navigator was our first rccl cruise; which got us hooked on cruising and cruising on rccl for many years. 😊

King size bed for weary travelers. Love that couch Double closet Standard Euro plug. Hopeful to use my adapter. Two standard US USB on the phone which helps Nice storage drawers and makeup area Love this balcony. We are all the forward so we look right into the wing stations. Not sure if they will like me staring at them checking up on their every maneuver. A little gift for the Key Time to get unpacked. I won’t show you any of that boring stuff. Next up probably a cocktail then sail away and then Anniversary celebration at the Chef’s Table. See you soon. Thanks again everyone for following along. Nice cabin , closet is much nicer than grand suites on rccl , great deal.

I sail her every year since it's a local drive for me. My favorite cabin is deck 6 middle of the hump. I'll be on the Navigator in two weeks so keep her running smoothly for me! I'll be watching you! I’ll try and save you some bourbon.😉

A lot of people don’t think it’s worth it. But for us if the price is right and we are going to get the internet package it can make sense. I love the priority boarding aspect and the wonderful Key lunch. We were having lunch at the same time watching people coming aboard. Also at debarkation we will get a special breakfast menu and be able to leave at our leisure instead of waiting in line to exit the ship. Everyone is different but if the price is right we always get it.
Rare Sea Dog Posted Saturday at 06:02 AM Author #188 Share Posted Saturday at 06:02 AM (edited) The Chef’s Table I love the Chef’s Table. Yeah, yeah I know the menu hasn’t changed in years but everything that’s on the menu is great and includes things I don’t get to eat all the time. Arnel our guide and sommelier was funny, knowledgeable and a great host. If you have never experienced the Chef’s Table I highly recommend it, but be warned it’s a lot of food. A lot of wine and takes up to 3-4 hours. Ours lasted 3 and half hours but that was mainly because we all were having a great time. Interesting that everyone at the table was celebrating an anniversary so we all toasted to one another. Even Arnel said it was the first time where everyone at the table was celebrating an anniversary. So let’s get to the food. First Course: Scallop Carpaccio paired with a Attems Pinot Grigio Second Course: Smoked Tomato Soup. Which is my all time favorite of soup paired with a Conondrum Chardonnay/ Sauvignon Blanc Third Course: Maine Lobster Salad paired with a Peter Yealands Sauvignon Blanc Fourth Course: Roasted Branzino, my all time favorite fish paired with La Crema Chardonnay. Fifth Course: Grilled Filet Mignon paired with Sequoia Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc Sixth Course: The World. IMHO I he best chocolate dessert in the world. Served with a salted caramel espresso martini. IMG_0331.mov what an incredible experience and anniversary celebration. Here is no way you could do a 6 course tasting menu for that price you pay. It would be 3 times that in any other restaurant. Thanks again to Arnel, Chef and our fun table mates. Needless to say I need to go to bed now. Edited Saturday at 06:03 AM by Sea Dog 28
Rare bobmacliberty Posted Saturday at 11:26 AM #189 Share Posted Saturday at 11:26 AM What a fantastic looking meal. We've still never done a chef's table on Royal, but I know that I'd enjoy every single item on that menu. I'm happy that it went so well for you and Linda.

It would be even better if done with a bourbon tasting. 😉 Met some Bills Mafia last night. Great people. There is a healthy respect for each others teams. That’s the way it should be no trash talking. They love their teams as much as we do ours. Hoping I can watch the game tomorrow in Playmakers. The Pkaymakers on board Navigator is nice that it’s in the Promenade but it is kinda small. I imagine it’s going to be jam packed for games tomorrow on a sea day.

I haven’t done a bourbon inventory yet. Stay tuned. I did see they have Templeton Rye which is one of my favorites. They won’t have it on the ship but I love Sagamore Spirit Ryes. Wow, What are the chances EVERYONE at chefs table was celebrating their anniversary!! Toast to you both and that.

Meal looks fantastic, but definitely more food than I could possibly eat but my wife would love it . Surprised that the filet mignon was served with a white wine.

The wine was probably a Cabernet Sauvignon. 1

Rare Sea Dog Posted Saturday at 02:42 PM Author #195 Share Posted Saturday at 02:42 PM Good Morning Ensenada! We did breakfast in the Windjamner as we have a 8:30am meeting for our excursion and the MDR did not open till 7:30am. I do not like the Windjamner. The morning Chaos and calamity of people scurrying about to get food is crazy. Not to mention the screaming and running kids through the narrow walkways. The food was actually pretty good but I like the pace and the more quiet and formal setting in the Main Dinning Room. Call me a snob. Eggs Benedict was good. At least we did try the WJ. Not sure we will be back.
Rare Sea Dog Posted Saturday at 02:58 PM Author #196 Share Posted Saturday at 02:58 PM Cankle Report! Many of us here on Cruise Critic have known each other for years. Many of us congregate over at our beloved “How are things where you are?” thread started by our very dear and loved friend @dani negreanu. We talk about everyday life and cruising. One of the topics we occasionally talk about is the dreaded cruise cankles. You know where all the rich food and drink filled with salt with an ocean filled environment cause your feet and ankles to swell. Mine swell up so bad that my feet look like the feet of Fred Flintstone. Our good friend @George C got relief when his doctor prescribed two pills. Potassium CL Er 10mg Furosemide 40mg Basically water pills. So if you don’t mind (and in the spirit of @Ocean Boy ) I am going to document my progress with some not so flattering pics of my feet during this cruise to see how well I do on these pills. Thanks to @Lionesss for the idea to keep track. So far day two not bad. 16 1
Rare crewsweeper Posted Saturday at 03:07 PM #197 Share Posted Saturday at 03:07 PM Late to the party but wishing the two of you a great anniversary cruise. Chef's Table looked excellent. Hope they still have Whistle Pig at Coco Cay. But my last two ryes have been Widow Jane bottlings.
cruzsnooze Posted Saturday at 03:07 PM #198 Share Posted Saturday at 03:07 PM Loved the report on the chef's table and the pictures. Would it be worthwhile so someone who doesn't drink ? Along with those water pills try to elevate your feet above your heart to help with the edema. Prop a pillow under them and if you are comfortable with it do that at bedtime to keep them slightly elevated. 1

Yes I slept last night with my legs elevated. It does help.
