  1. And they will find my DW in the pool. She usually goes there as soon as it is scheduled to open. She often has to wait for them to take the netting off and/or check the chlorine levels.
  2. I once had a college professor who definitely agrees with you. He said the worst 2 laws ever were speeding and alternate side of the street parking. And the reason they were the worst laws was that people routinely broke them with no consequences, and once you broke a law with no consequences the next law was much easier to break.
  3. Good luck 🤞 that everything works out. This must be very stressful.
  4. Not the same thing, but a "technical difficulties" story. In 2007, we had a Baltic cruise booked for our 30th anniversary on the Star Princess. It was booked way in advance as we both felt it was perfect for our anniversary. Our TA advised that we take the Princess airfare to make sure we had booked airfare and then when airlines started to post their airfare look to see if we could go for less money as we could always cancel the Princess airfare before final payment. And then I found a great deal Newark to Copenhagen round trip on the Continental website that could only be booked online. Every time I tried it, technical difficulties, try again or a phone number to call. After a few tries, I called the number. The customer service rep after I had outlined the problem said "my name and my wife's name?" I had never mentioned to her DW's name. It seems the technical difficulty was that Princess had already booked us on the flight. (For the Princess price 3 could have flown at the Continental online price.) She asked about payment, and I replied that we only had a deposit on the cruise, and in fact could cancel the whole package. She suggested I cancel the flight, and then get back to their offer. I said I never wanted to not have a flight booked and was afraid their offer would expire, could she book us. After a pause, she said she would, but to please get right to our TA and cancel the flight with Princess. I of course called our TA immediately and did so.
  5. We have not flown yet as our cruise is next year. But when I asked our TA, he said Newark to London is almost always non-stop, but no guarantee.
  6. We have been on 5 different cruise lines, and the one thing I can say about our 2 NCL cruises was that they had the best entertainment. That is why I asked about the shows. And we chose the Prima cruise for the itinerary, London (Southampton) to Reykjavik with stops in Amsterdam, Belgium, 3 in Norway, and 3 in Iceland including an overnight in Reykjavik before disembarking.
  7. Good one. The 25th was a special birthday because I remember celebrating that my car insurance rate went down.
  8. Yes, the dinner cost extra and had almost no choices unlike the normal dinner experience. It was the summer of 2012 on the Epic.
  9. Yeah, IIRC, afterwards I wished I had ordered a regular dessert from the menu instead or in addition to the cake.
  10. I think in addition to putting the info in, you are best off telling them when you go to dinner on the special night. I know when we had an anniversary on a Princess ship, I told them when we entered the dining room that night (doing anytime), and that worked.
  11. Thanks for the information. It really does not compare to our last NCL cruise which had both the Blue Man Group and dinner theater with Cirq d' Soleil. JMHO.
  12. What shows are there other than Donna Summers? (We are not disco fans.) Also is there availability to dance onboard? Also are there dance lessons?
  13. Absolutely, DW swims multiple laps. She is in the pool well over 15 minutes.
  14. Yes, the reward disappears from your offers once it is used. Good luck trying to get it back even though they rescinded the credit, this sounds difficult. Just keep moving up on the food chain until you hopefully get someone who can accommodate your request.
  15. Agree, and you could take nice strolls around those decks.
  16. And as time passes, their tall tales will become even taller. 😉
  17. I found the auto gratuity a vast improvement as we no longer had to worry about having the proper bills to fill the envelopes.
  18. Yet if you read posts in many of these forums, the one thing almost unanimously liked by the posters is the new muster non-drill. Basically the only ones objecting are the experienced mariners who post on these boards and those who are actually listening to them. It is unfortunate, but it will take a disaster to reinstate real safety drills. Previously it took the Costa Concordia sinking and loss of life to tighten up the drill requirements.
  19. It was on a Princess ship (not Carnival, but the same corporation) a camera lens. While off the ship and having dinner in Edinburgh before attending the Scottish Military Tattoo, DW hung her camera on a hook in the ladies' room, and it fell. It turned out that the camera itself was ok, but the lens was no longer in working order. Luckily, both her camera and what they sold onboard were the same brand, Nikon.
  20. Or maybe this thread was titled pre-cruise experiences, and he will come back later with a thread about his cruise experience. Let us hope so.
  21. Of course marijuana has not been run through clinical trials as researchers cannot get it as it is classified as a level 1 drug. And then not being researched is held against it like in your post.
