JustCruiseMe Posted January 15, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 15, 2014 I hardly get any junk mail...maybe you checked "yes" or something about hearing from their supporters or something. I am sorry I don't know how to delete the account though. Hopefully someone else will help.
SadieN Posted January 15, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 15, 2014 (edited) User CP might have the info. You could always change your email address. I use one specifically for when I know I'll get ads I do not want. FWIW at most I get one email a day from CC. Rarely, if ever from an advertiser on this site. CruiserBruce Posted January 15, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 15, 2014 I don't recall ever getting junk mail from Cruise Critic. Perhaps you clicked on an ad, or something?

RickT Posted January 16, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 16, 2014 I've alerted a moderator to your post. Hopefully they can help. For the record, I get no spam from this site. I perhaps get 1-2 e-mails from cruise critic but that's it.

JanineM Posted January 16, 2014 #10 Share Posted January 16, 2014 In 8 years I don't think I've ever received a piece of spam related to this site. I segregate my email accounts so it would be pretty obvious. Did you sign up for subscriptions to threads? You can change that.

The "someone replied to the X thread" email can be annoying until you change the default to no email.
SheilaNC Posted January 16, 2014 #12 Share Posted January 16, 2014 If you really want to leave Cruise Critic, you can email help@cruisecritic.com and indicate your desire. You might also click on User CP at the top of the screen and unsubscribe from boards, newsletters, etc. that you might have subscribed to. User CP is where you control how you participate on the boards. Participation should be fun...not an annoyance, so only you can determine what meets your needs at this time. Do let me know if I can be of further assistance.

marco Posted January 16, 2014 #14 Share Posted January 16, 2014 There must be something that you click on "yes" or "no" or something like that, that I am totally unaware of as I've never gotten junk or spam from CC.

Nitemare Posted January 16, 2014 #16 Share Posted January 16, 2014 I got one 'thanks a million' e-mail from Cruisecritic last July. In February of 2012 there were two e-mails. That's it since 2010 for me
MCC retired Posted January 16, 2014 #17 Share Posted January 16, 2014 OP If any of those junk mails has an "unsubscribe" in it , click on it and it will tell you whom you are subscribed to. Willing to bet they are not from CC.
NMLady Posted January 16, 2014 #18 Share Posted January 16, 2014 I get way too much junk mail from this site. How do i delete my account, not justn unsubscribe? Thanks. I have been a CC member for three years and get no junk mail from CC. Did you inadvertently sign up for automatic subscriptions to threads where you reply, or sign up for newsletter or announcements? That is the only way you'd get email from CC.
sail7seas Posted January 16, 2014 #19 Share Posted January 16, 2014 I've been a part of CC for a lot of years and cannot remember ever getting 'junk mail' from CC. It was good of Host Sheila to remind us to check our settings and be sure we have them the way that works best for us.
