Should special items booked with a cruise, such as paid gratuities and the Sip and Sail promotion show in my cruise personalizer and travel itinerary?

Mine are only showing on the confirmation I have received from my TA.

Thanks,

Pam

I always call Princess and have them send email confirmation of any free perks and then take that onboard with me. Many things don't show in the personalizer.

That's great that some are getting better prices but found only much higher prices. Then I discovered that some of the prices were in CAD...I've never had prices in Canadian dollars.

The USD's bottom line price for cruises we'd be interested in sailing are about the same or slightly more than before the "sale". It's just the latest non-deal sale for me & so much for having their best prices by booking early. :(

I saw they had the option of assigning the time for dinner.

we got the offer, wine, grats and 1 free specialty.(choice of Crown Grill or Sabatini).rep said we could just call for a res when we board

Chances are Princess will pick the restaurant, day and time for your dinner and have a card in your cabin when you board with this information. They do this so that several hundred passengers are not calling to make the booking as soon as they board.

However, if you do not like the restaurant/day/time Princess picked, call the DINE line from your cabin or stop by the restaurant you want to request the change. Just do it as soon as possible while there make be availability for what you want.

Have to give a big "Thank you " to you folks on Cruise Critic- as I was drinking my coffee this morning- read about the sale.- Quickly emailed our Princess TA- and asked about the promotion- for us and our traveling companions- We are thrilled with the savings- she rebooked us- we got the same cabins but saved in both cruise fare and the perks.

I booked a cruise for Feb. 2017 when the schedule first came out and I got the "launch fare". Today my travel agent got me the 3 For Free promotion.

The fare went up by $100 p/p over my launch fare but the benefits of the promotion more that covered that increase. I am a happy fan of Princess Cruises.

I think they're getting wiser...a cruise I was tracking had a price increase within a week of the sale instead of a simultaneous price increase & "sale" price drop.

My Alaska cruise went up $50 a couple of days before this new sale :)

Still.... I'm booking with the gratuities taken care of, a nice balcony cabin mid-ship, and 1 Specialty Restaurant dinner. Oh and they tell me the deposit was decreased to $200 but I don't know what it was before so that's really of little consequence to me .. heheh

Even with no sale going on, prices will go up if the demand is there.

And nukesubsailor booked months ago. No telling when the price went up for that cabin. Could have been anytime between booking and the new sale.

We went online to check the pricing and program information for our upcoming voyages next August and September and saw a significant price reduction for the 3FF and called out Travel Consultant at Princess. Our current booking is part of the Sip & Sail program and what we found out was that this program was more cost effective than the 3FF.

The way the math worked out was that the estimated S&S daily credit was much larger than the total of the gratuity savings, specialty dining voucher, cat upgrade and fare reduction combined. This was quite a deal considering those two voyages were a combined 25 days.

So, if you have a S & S program now and are even a moderate drinker, like gelatto, special coffees and soda that's included in the program then you might be ahead by staying with the current booking. If it's a new booking then the less costly fare, gratuity savings, dining and up category will be a winner.

Did you book with a TA or with Princess????

Have you been successful doing this, when you book with a reg. TA, I called princess once about getting proof of perks in the form of an email & she finally did it, she was not happy to do it & really gave me a hard time about it. Then finally did it.

Thanks for your info

Checked prices today for our Regal cruise next July. We would have to give up the beverage package from Sip and Sail in order to save $123 on our cruise fare and get free gratuities and a specialty dinner. All in all about a $460 value. Not sure it's worth it. We could also upgrade our cabin from a DW to a DV, but not sure that matters much either.

You know between now and our final payment date there will be many other "sales!"

Emailed my TA and she repriced us into the 3 For Free promo. Cost us a fare increase of $50 PP, total $100. But, we got the free gratuities $168, $50 complimentary restaurant, and $50 bottle of wine. Net gain of $168. We're in a suite so that means we've got two comp dinners which we'll spend in Sabatinis.

I would expect pricing to be pretty much what it is pre-sale.

Princess is trying to maintain pricing and instead of lowering the price just gives amenities that effectively reduce the price of the cruise.

You seem so well informed, so would you mind answering a question for me??

With the Sip and Sail free Beverage Package, would the price of that be reflected on your folio as a daily credit? If so, that would have been a MUCH better deal than free gratuities!! If that's the case, I wish my TA had informed us of that!

You don't get it as a daily credit. Just the drinks, gelato, etc that you order is free.
