Suite guest shouts profanities in concierge lounge- no consequences

Recommended Posts

On this week's Jewel cruise a suite guest showed disorderly conduct when she yelled across the concierge lounge profanities for abvout 5 minutes. She stood up at the bar and asked for everybodies attention in the lounge and shouted ",,,,fuxxxxxxing captains table...." and at least 10 times "....fuxxxxing Pinnacles......".

Big drama ended in an executive officer meeting next morning with no noticable consequences: no excuses to lounge guests which have been insulted, no banning from the lounge nor any other sanction.

Is this RCCL's new version of code of conduct?

Sounds like someone obviously had too much to drink. I would imagine that she was most likely told, during the next day meeting, that if she repeated her behavior, she would be dropped off at the next port. Just because you were insulted by her language, that doesn't really rise to the level of any immediate serious consequences other than a reprimand at first.

I would bet that the servers in the suite lounge were also given instructions about how many drinks she could be served.

Sometimes, people just do stupid stuff when they get drunk. As long as there wasn't any violence involved, then a firm talking to should suffice as a first response. If she'd hit someone, then she should have been escorted off the ship at the next port.

Envy and alcohol can be a bad mix.

For legal and PR reasons it's not necessary for the Captain to explain to passengers what the interaction with the guest was.

But I do know someone who knows someone else who dates someone who works on the ship and they said the D+ member who offended was taken into the concierge lounge and each Pinnacle member got to lash the D+ member 10 times with their lanyard.

Sad very sad.

We all have our own inherent rights, whether it be by cabin category or C & A status.

I personally respect all we share spaces with.

I hope they nipped this outrageous behavior before she goes goofy again.

Enjoy cruising...............

We do, and will continue to respect the rights of others.

Safe travels.

Wow! That’s awful![emoji33] I have seen one instance of really obnoxious behavior in the Suite Lounge on Oasis, but nothing that comes close to a drunk shouting F-Bombs.[emoji35]

Finally after 10 years of cruising these boards I have found a reason to buy, wear, or use a lanyard..

Terrible actions but how did you know the passenger was a suite guest? Her actions do seem to go against the "passenger conduct code" often mentioned during the muster drill. Sad.

Were you expecting bruises? Ever disciplined your kids where the action would not have been obvious to anyone else? You really don't have any idea what the consequences were or what action was taken.

I'm sure she got a warning and told not to do it again.

Yeah it's bad behaviour but what do you expect? A personal apology and to get to witness her being flogged?

Just like when some other kid hits or pushes or insults my child at school. I get told about the incident. I don't get told what was done or said to the other child.

For privacy reasons they won't tell you. And honestly I don't see what you are getting so worked up about? Some drunk idiot yelled things? Not the end of the world.

Shocking behaviour but the question is whether this was a one off and as a result of too much alcohol. A reprimand and warning would seem reasonable. One would argue that a ban from being served any more alcohol would also seem appropriate.

I don't believe she should be kicked off the ship but then I wasn't there to witness the incident.

I certainly agree that this behavior is unacceptable. Alcohol was most likely the accelerant but the tinder lies with Royal Caribbean. The overcrowding of the CLs should have been addressed long ago. RCCL seems to lack the courage to revamp the combustable C & A program.
