Sip and Sail pricing now on Princess website

A no perks, non refundable deposit fare. We used future cruise credits so only risking $200. We get $300 OBC for FCC, plus another $300 from TA. On a 16 day last year our bar bill was less than $100, the sodas and more will be about $150 so we're over $2000 ahead.

Because I feel I've PAID for an expensive, optional, amenity I cannot use. If you don't think it was built into the fare you're mistaken. Nothing is free on a cruise, some things are included because they are built into that fare.

Sorry that happened to you, but it not how it works for everyone. Probably 1000’s of people book cruises at a price before the S&S promotion was introduced at a certain price. They were willing to take the cruise at that price. I assume that you did the same.

We were able to add the promotion without any increase in cost, so it is a true value add.

Congrats to all the balcony folks on being able to add S&S, here's one catch, we are booked on a Jan. 2020 Antarctica cruise that is eligible for S&S, but when I called to see if I could add it I was told NO, our cabin category is "Sold Out". My option was lose my Casino rate and book a higher category balcony and pay $1425/pp more to get the promo. Moral of the story, as long as there's cabins available in you current category you can add it on with no charge. If someone cancels their cabin in our category we then could add the promo.

This happened to me with one of my cabins. (Sold out in that category). I was willing to take a risk and book another category if necessary. My TA was able to work with Princess, “cancel” my booking and then rebook the same cabin and the same price for me. It may have helped that I said if I could not get the promotion added to the booking, I would just book a less expensive category of cabin. IMO the Sip and Sail is a great promotion.

Of course your situation is different. Can you find another category with your Casino rate that would be less expensive than your current booking?

Oh come on, you don’t actually think you’re getting it for free do you? I can book a cruise right now that’s $5,000 pp with the drinks or $3,600 without. They build it in when the cruises are first released.

Thanks for the heads up! Cancelled and Rebooked resulting in saving $720!

-Jeff

The Sip and Sail prices are now loaded and you can check your cruises on the Princess website....the cruises we have booked and are looking at have not changed in price from earlier today...we only have one cruise that the price is higher than what we booked but not higher than the price from earlier today. Will be changing some cruises to Sip and Sail and keeping one cruise under Landmark Sale..

No what it is saying is the sip n'sail is only for balcony cabins and above. If you originally purchased an inside and were upgraded to balcony or above either free or by upsell, you would not then get this sip n'sale. If you went from an inside to a suite(oh, don't I wish!) you would get all the suite amenities, just not the sip n'sail.

Pooh

Thanks for the clarification Pooh! That’s a lot better! I guess I won’t turn down any upsells/upgrades if the upgrade fairy is nice to me!

If you are not a big drinker check out the Princess Saver Fare (ask for Rate Code KRA)

Hundreds less than Sip & Sail (Rate Code N6A) on a 7 nighter, more on longer ones.

Sadly, I am a big drinker but rates went up so dramatically for the Landmark Sale that, even though they haven't now gone up for the Sip & Sail, I can't afford to get the promo. I will make note of this rate code you mention (Rate Code N6A) and check it out. We are booked on a 12 day Search for the Northern Lights cruise late next year. We have absolutely zero perks and our OBC isn't enough to even cover the gratuities. I would love to get some sort of break although the lower rate we paid actually is a break and I don't know if even a great price break - over the current pricing - would be better than what we paid.

Question: Is this rate only available through a TA or can it be obtained by anybody who happens to know the rate code?

Found the old announcement. It was an early booking promo for the Sip & Sale that included a speciality dining bonus if you booked before July 5, 2017 for mini-suites and suites.

Ahhh.... Thanks for the clarification. As we booked balconies that definitely makes sense as to why we didn't get that part of the promo. I likely saw it at the time but it's been quite a while. :D

Look toward the bottom of this page. That rate code N6A is the actual Sip and Sale Promo code, it really is not another discount code.

Offer valid: June 26 – September 5, 2018.

Reference promotion code: N6A/N6B.

That's the point I was making. Many people are fooled by marketing tactics. Supermarkets thrive on marketing "ploys" to make you think something is a good deal. Cruises are no different.

We are currently booked on a 2019 fall 14 day trans Atlantic cruise. Checked out the S & S. It was available on this cruise but the price since we booked has risen almost identical to the price of the beverage package. Also, we learned we would lose much of our OBC if we had this special applied. Happy to hear many of you have benefited from this promotion but for us we will be staying with our existing booking.

Cheers Louden

To clarify our previous post above, we would have had to pay the current price and lose OBC to take " advantage " of the S&S.

We booked an Alaskan cruise on the $1 promo which also included $250/person OBC. The price with the Sip + Sail promo is unchanged. Although the PBP is “worth” $483/person on this cruise the $250/person of OBC is worth more to us so we won’t be switching. If we didn’t have the OBC offer we would have already switched.

Is the saver fare only available through certain agents or open to anyone?

Saver Fare, Rate Code KRA is bookable by any TA or by calling Princess.

It only applies to Past Guests and sailings that already qualify for S & S .

If you are Balcony or above and you don't want the S & S Drink package (that you are actually paying for with Rate Code N6A ) save on your cruise fare by booking plain old Saver Fare that has no promo goodies.

I just sent a screen print to my husband on a cruise that we're looking at. They who cannot be named are displaying two prices. this is for two, all taxes. $10,771 Cdn with $595 US OBC non refundable deposit....or.... $14,145 Cdn with $830 US OBC, refundable deposit and the drink package. taking into consideration the OBC difference, I'd be paying $128 Canadian a day for drinks.

Just trying to be totally optimistic, I called Princess to see if you could exchange the premier beverage package for OBC instead. She spoke to Supervisor and help desk and the answer given to me was "No." So if someone gets a "yes" answer, let us know!

Pooh

I tried today, and got the same answer - either take the drink package or nothing. There's no OBC option :-(

I think it is a promotion used instead of a price decrease and I was able to take advantage of the promotion. Others may not. If a cruise was almost sold out, I can not understand why Princess would offer the promotion.

I understand your point, but I do not think that would be a sound business practice.

Also I believe the cost of a drink package to Princess is almost insignificant due to the margins.

Not always.

My cruise last April in an ME mini suite that we always book was around the same price we always pay even with the S & S.

Correct. In order to encourage people to book early instead of waiting for pricing to come down, Princess has sales that include different perks which effectively lower the cost of the cruise, but protect the integrity of the basic cruise pricing.

In general this is working as CCL Corp (Princess' owner) reports advance bookings are higher than ever (and at higher pricing)

Welcome to the world of Aussie and UK Princess passengers. What you have, or in this case don't have, is standard for us.

I rebooked with the promo, but my box ta couldn't get it to show in my receipt, though she claimed it shows on her side.

So I checked the Princess side and found premiere beverage package promotions on the bottom of the travel summary, but it shows as though we are being charged??? Is that how it is supposed to show, or do I need to make another phone call?

Anyone know? Thanks. :)
