Adam (and Mike):

Thank you for taking the time out of your vacation to provide information and enjoyment for all of us!  You did an awesome job.

When I finally made it to page 8 and the cruise was over I actually felt a very slight twinge of that same depression I feel when our cruises have been over!

Ha!  Me too!  Think I need to seek some serious therapy if I'm now going to start getting the cruise blues when the live review comes to an end....

Smoking only on Deck 16 next to the Sunset Bar on starboard side and there is a smoking deck slightly above the main pool area on starboard side. Casino is on Deck 4. So your closest option to smoke is to go from Deck 4 all the way up to Deck 14 to the pool area.

Thank you for the information ...this has been a very useful and thorough review. Thanks!

Adam,

Thanks for the review and awesome pictures.  I really enjoy your live threads.

Just wondering, was your husband Mike bothered by the fact that he had to go all the way up to Deck 14 or 15 to have a cigarette?  We really enjoyed smoking after dinner, in between shows, and taking a break from the Casino.

Thank you! Yes, he was highly irritated by it and is reluctant to go on Edge again because of it. (Luckily I am in charge of all of our vacation planning... :classic_biggrin:)  He complained to the casino host about it and she said she had gotten a number of complaints about it from players but she also said corporate won't budge on it.

LOL!  I am also in charge of the vacation planning!  Although we are both smokers, he will for sure get irritated by this, especially as we are doing a B2B!!

As members have stated that Celebrity reads our posts, maybe I shall start a new thread for us dreaded smokers!!😊

Thanks once again...will be following you on the Summit...

Have a Wonderful Holiday Season

Pretty much rules out the Edge for me lol

You know you are making an impact when people start criticizing your blog posting style on other threads! LOL. This board always gives me a chuckle.

Thanks to all who followed along. Sorry I wasn't able to answer every question but I appreciate those who did enjoy my detailed posting as I know it filled in the gaps for some about things they were wondering about on this new ship.

Very much enjoyed your live blog.   We are on the Jan 13 sailing of Edge.   I feel a bit of a peon as most of the live blogs so far have been from Suites folks.  (We are Aqua)

Nonetheless, well written & succinct & informative.

BTW,   I am was born & raised in MA.  But have been in MD since 1970 (before you were born?)

I will look out for future posts!

Adam, you've done a brilliant job!  You've shared your vacation time and that in itself is precious.  Looking forward to your next review!  😊

There are curmudgeons everywhere – ignore them!  You did a terrific job on this blog, and I [among many others, obviously] am very grateful that you were willing to take time from your vacation to let us sail along with you.  It really helped me as I prepare for our Edge cruise in January.  Thanks again!

LOL, it spilled over, eh?

I have yet to see them, maybe it is because I have those particular poster(s) on 'ignore'?

Not to worry, you know who loves you here! :classic_biggrin:

Happy Holidays and Thank You again for your postings and briefings on the sailing.

bon voyage

t - not to worry, all reviewed cabin levels are most welcomed, as there are quite a few of us who are not in suites...

We are E1's for example...

Looking forward to your review, too.

Oh no ...LOL, get ready for  all the lectures and negative comments about smoking hazards in the new thread.  I have tried asking nicely, tried bullying but after 20 years decided that it is my husband's prerogative and all I can ask is that he doesn't  smoke in the car, house or around me. This is our first Celebrity and we were discussing it the other day - it does really suck the way they have it set up and he is sure to complain.

Anyway sorry about digressing - this review has a lot of information and has been a great one!  Thanks to Adam!

Adam (and Mike),

Thanks again for the wonderful review, detailed information, and your random advice throughout the review. It definitely helps us plan properly for our February cruise on the Edge. You did a great job answering so many questions and your photos were fantastic. I have a friend on the Edge's current sailing (right after yours) so it's great to see his photos and have some good context of what I'm looking at thanks to your blog.

Glad to hear you have another cruise coming up shortly and we're definitely looking forward to your live review on the Summit. Seeing as we have never been on the Summit either it will be interesting to read what you have to say as we might be looking for a last minute summer cruise to fill the gap between our cruise in February and the ones we have booked in November.

Cheers and Happy Holidays!

Just to finish off information regarding my trip. Wanted to share photos from our port stop in Key West as they include a couple Edge photos. Mike and I had never been to Key West before so I downloaded some maps and we did our own self-guided tour following along the Pelican Path walking tour route. We started at the ship dock, which was at Pier B by the way not at the Navy Mole which online information had been reporting prior to the cruise. Pier B is right in the heart of everything while the Navy Mole requires a shuttle to take you over to the Mallory Square shopping area which is considered the heart of the tourist area. We wound our way all across town and ended at the southernmost point marker. It took us about 3.5-4 hours to complete plus we stopped for lunch on the way at a cute little cafe called La Te Da, on Duval Street near the southernmost point, where we had some refreshing cocktails and tasty sandwiches. We had a nice day. Overall we weren’t overly impressed with Key West based on all we’d heard through the years. There were some nice areas but it was very, very touristy and tacky in the areas near the ship and it was very busy with loud trucks rumbling all over town. We wouldn’t plan a vacation there but there is enough to do to occupy a day.

We've been to Key West a few times, I've yet to see a sunset as beautiful as the ones in Key West.  The Western Union Schooner is a 70 year old authentic historical registered sailboat and was being painstakingly repaired last time we were there.  Did you notice if it was operational now? My husband and I had our first sunset sailing on her so Key West is sentimental for us.  It has changed throughout the years, Sunset pier has been ruined since they are building hotels around it, you just need to get out of the touristy areas.
