Glad to see Curtis Stone options are still present, even if availability seems more limited than previous sailings. I don't recall ever seeing a Curtis Stone starter option; something new to debut on the Sky before fleet wide rollout perhaps? Minor question concerning Gelato: On the Royal a couple years ago, we were able to order the 3 scoop sundae in the form of a banana split. Could you see if that is still an option if you feel like stopping there again? Hope Chris feels better to get back to enjoying the vacation soon! I have a friend who orders the banana split in the MDR at least once a cruise. Ask the waiter when you are ordering to order the banana split off the children's menu. Choose your ice cream and toppings. Sali

emeraldlake Posted October 25, 2019 #357 Share Posted October 25, 2019 It looks like the Retreat Pool area has now reverted back to small area as on older ships vs the large area in front of the sanctuary on the Royal and Regal. Sky Suites are now up there. Is there any area to sit outside of the Sanctuary anymore? Also, looks like sitting areas on Promenade deck have been turned in to alfresco dining areas for La Mer and Alfredos. Public outdoor spaces seem to be vanishing. Do you find this to be true?

This makes me sad. It was a nice adults space away from the noise of the main pool area, and was super nice to be able to sit around the pool and get in when you wanted to. Jnsplace1 Posted October 25, 2019 #366 Share Posted October 25, 2019 Interesting.....I was appreciating Gary's review of the Sky video. He seems to say that they do a really good job of public spaces on the Sky. Perhaps I misunderstood that, after all my hearing isn't that great. dides Posted October 25, 2019 Author #370 Share Posted October 25, 2019 We found the Princess shops a bit disappointing. We bought our usual fridge magnets but Chris thought the inaugural season T-shirts were rather dull and boring. They have tons of merchandise though. A small selection: They also had one end of the shop set up with Christmas baubles and bags! Sandra and Chris

Do they sell the ship specific mug with stats in the shops? I had them in our personalizer shopping cart and all of a sudden they are no longer in stock and not showing on the list of items at all anymore.

dides Posted October 25, 2019 Author #374 Share Posted October 25, 2019 Recap of day 6 Today was Naples and we intended to get off the ship and get us some history and culture. My inflamed foot meant Pompeii will have to wait for another time so the next best thing was visiting the Archaelogical Museum in Naples. We both got up at 7am and went down to Sabatinis for a breakfast. Most of the coaches had left by the time we went out at just after 9. We walked up to the Municipo metro station which was confusing in itself due to the construction going on. We managed to.get off at the museum 3 stops on and joined the queue to buy tickets. The museum layout was a little haphazard but we enjoyed looking at the frescoes, mosaics and the secret room artifacts from Pompeii. We stopped for a drink at the on-site cafe, looked around the gift shop and then headed back to the ship. For some reason the metro had shut down so we stressed out for a bit and then worked out how to grab a taxi from the rank outside the museum back to the port We had a much needed nap and then an early meal at La Mer. French Bread hmmm Polenta chips and goats cheese balls that look like olives (i loved both of these) Smoked salmon and pate as appetizers Jumbo scallops and beef as mains Chocolate finger and Rum Baba as desserts In general, we preferred the mains and desserts and the french bread of course 🙂 After dinner we had a cocktail in Take 5 while the band were playing and concluded it didn't prevent us from hearing each other. Not heard any singers yet though. We then spent the evening watching the end of a Nature sounds quiz, watching a new Survivor type gameshow, not winning an Ultimate Quiz and then winning a Music Connections quiz with 18 out of 20. There were 5 of us - us plus the lady from Dallas the teenager and a guy from Australia. We did have a lot of fun And now, time for bed.

Princess is a pretty classy line you would think they would have higher end merchandise to sell. I think they would sell pretty well in my opinion.
