Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

I don't like to complain about the weather with all our friends in Florida in harms way with real weather concerns but another day 100°+ and another one for tomorrow is getting old.  This thick transplanted Canadian blood just can't function in it any more.  We got a reprieve from it last week at home for a few days but now we're down in Fontana and one last heat wave felt like it needed to torment me.

I never ever thought I'd say this as long as live but I miss rain.

I want to add my wishes for safety to all our FL residents here and those who have friends, loved ones and/or property there.

My older great grandson turned 5 today, and he asked for Disney World instead of a party.
So my granddaughter and her husband took the boys to Disney World for several days.  Barring 140mph winds and torrential rain.
So far so good, though. Colton and his almost 3 year old brother Ledger are having a blast.

Thanks, Debbie.  It's one of my favorite photos.

We have quite a few in here who live in FL but when I saw that Naples was in Ian's path I immediately thought of you and Jim.  Here's wishing you a fabulous worry free cruise.  And, of course, wishing all of our FL friends to stay safe and dry with no property damage.

Lucky @A&L_Ont Andrew's mom is in Canada and not Sarasota.  Hoping for no damage.

Thank you Bonnie.  Alexa still thinks she's in Florida with us....she's given me several "notifications" that Naples is under a Tornado watch until tomorrow.  I hope my friends there will be safe.

The picture of your grandchildren is adorable!!!!!!

@Luckynana Have a wonderful cruise!

I actually looked into parking at EWR and if you make a reservation at least 24 hours in advance, the economy lot is $21/day and P4, the daily garage is $29/day.  Uber from P4 to the port is $31.  It is definitely a good option if storms are in the area.  I know you were thinking of that option too if your daughter wasn't going to drive you.

Thank you, mema!  Yes, we were thinking along those lines (airport parking) but DD will be driving us!  When is your cruise, and where will you be going?🛳️

We leave on October 9th to Port Canaveral, Nassua and Coco Cay.  Ian will be gone by then but there is another storm that has a 70% chance of forming in the next 5 days.  We will have to see where that ends up going or if there are more after it.  We have no problems if we are rerouted to NE/Canada if there is a storm, we just don't want the car sitting in an open lot that could flood, so EWR it will be if needed.  Watch us change to NE/Canada and have a stop in Boston! 😄

Thought we needed  a little Food Porn to get away for a moment from all this storm talk.

Made Mexican Stuffed  Bell Peppers from the last 3 Bell Peppers picked from our Garden.

It was quite tasty and easy to make, will be making it again . 🙂

We disembark on the 8th.  I'm kind of expecting some rough seas on this cruise;  I have my Sea Bands already packed.  Actually, they are always packed for our cruises..lol!

Have a wonderful cruise, mema!

I hope those boats don't end up n your front yard. You would think a lot of those boat owners would have been taking their boats out of the water to higher ground.

The boats may belong to snowbirds or maybe people that want a new boat.

I hear that happens a lot at LBI where people cannot get there to get out of water and the marinas are far too busy to get everyone's boat to safety.

Thanks!  We are driving down on the 8th, I don't like to drive down morning of the cruise just in case there is a problem.  We won't see you sail in but maybe we will try to see it sail back out again.  Depends on how early we get on the road.

Have an awesome cruise with calm seas!

@ReneeFLL Not sure what time you are departing on the 29th but the Opera House Sails will lit up from sunset to 11pm from 19-30 Oct to celebrate its 50 year anniversary.  A film & music will be projected on the sails to celebrate past, present & future.

Sunset will be 7.20pm.

Do you think he'll get rid of Ryan too? I think I heard correctly when Capt said he had replacements lined up. That high tea looked as if a 2nd grader made it. How embarrassing.

Oh, do tell. Who got canned?

Yes, I think Ryan is on his way out. Captain Jason did get confirmation that a replacement is available. I think Jason is tired of Ryan's disrespect as well as his terrible food presentation.
