@Ozark_KidHi John, I think it was you that posted a horrible looking kummelweck on your last cruise.   I just wanted to let you know the ones Eric and I had for lunch in cafe 270 today were excellent.  No fat, chef carved thin and very moist tasty meat.   Don't give up on them😃

Good to hear!  When on Ovation I enjoyed the food at 270.  We ate breakfast and lunch there a few times.  Love the view there too.

The pic of the the kummelweck was from Park Cafè.  If that was our 1st bad experience it would still be a go to but it has not been a great experience for us since the restart.

Try 270 for breakfast.  We really enjoyed it.

I hope you and Eric are having a good cruise 🛳.

The cruise is getting real, Greg!!

So glad I don't have to deal with flying and outrageous fares;  however, I will have to pay for 14 days parking in Miami for our B2B🙄

I'm sure the price for 14 days of parking isn't cheap either.

We finally booked flights on Friday. Just about slid off the chair at the pricing.

I really think a lot has to do with it being in March and spring break time. Peak tourist destination in Miami during that time.

Just got home from our Celebrity Beyond cruise good cruise with a a few hiccups, very nice win at casino on last night left me with a large smile . Our cat Joebob is happy we are home . Will answer any questions on beyond that we can but most of our time was in suite areas . Entertainment was by far best we had ever seen on celebrity.

What was your favorite restaurant all week?  Bourbon selection good or bad?

I’m not a bourbon person , mostly drank cognac, wine and scotch with a few dirty martinis and kraken pina coladas . My favorite meal was le petit chef which has several different menus depending on the day , each menu has 4 courses with 4 alternative courses , the animation is for the main selections but really didn’t matter , we liked this since it had branzino as main course we also had branzino for lunch in the suite restaurant. You can pick from both menus . We had a nice merlot which we had brought with us.

Only 42 degrees here in Southport, NC with a high of 61 degrees today. All the fishermen down by the pier are wearing heavy coats on the boats we are seeing.

We are heading out later to check out a light house on Oak Island and Fort Caswell.

I can imagine it's even colder out at sea for @Sunshine3601 passing heading South on their cruise. She is probably passing North Carolina/South Carolina about now.

Probably not a pool day today onboard. Be more likely some added time in the Casino. Good Luck !

Sounds colder there than onboard.  It is currently 57f on Anthem.  Very Calm seas all yesterday and this morning.   We are wearing jeans and short sleeve shirt and was getting warm while going for my morning walk on sports deck.    Lots of people in shorts and Yes, some pool hogs already saving their chairs.

I'm sure the indoor pool room and solarium will be busy until we at least get into the 60s.

Have a Great Day😍

Tuesday we are in port canaveral, then Nassau and CocoCay.  Weather forecast says sunny and 80f with water temps around 75 to 77f

We have done this itinerary several times so for us it's just so nice to be at sea to a beach somewhere warm and sunny🐬🐳

Last night was lighting of Christmas tree. 20221204_193151.thumb.jpg.bc60ee65bc1159a2862dffc94bdbaee2.jpg

They started lighting ceremonies since the days after Thanksgiving.

I believe they are doing the lighting thing every week till Christmas! Even merrier!😆
I was told they will keep the tree up till Jan 3., but who knows.
Those gifts under the tree looked very tempting and the children (young and not so young) onboard had a hard time not touching them.😉

we have had some sailings that left right after the New Year cruises, and the trees were up for a day or two.

It was surprising how fast they disappeared, though.

The January and February cruises should be longer with time to go further south, like Labadie , San Juan and St Martin. The ones we did when Explorer was in Bayonne were 9-11 days.

My dear friend's house at the very right.

I am pretty impressed with the S22 telephoto lens. I wonder where it is going...

It takes great photos.

They do have 11-day ones on Anthem from Bayonne NJ in January. They go to such places as Puerto Rico, St. Kitts, St. Maarten, Antigua, St. Lucia.....  however the 7 day ones are more frequent and are very repetitive. There is another recent thread on this topic. I think most cruisers that live in this area wish there was more variety.

I lived in Connecticut and we did many of those longer cruises, and a couple of times we stayed on for the 7 day cruise, because there was too much snow at home.

We moved south when Explorer left to make room for Quantum.

Wanted to add a few pictures from today. Couldn't get inside the Oak Island Lighthouse today and the Fort Caswell was closed only open in the weekend which was a bummer since we are leaving Friday Morning.

Beautiful Tree!!!! Thank you for sharing.   We haven't been there since we went with the grandchildren to see "Frozen" four years ago.  Too much going on this year to get in to the City.🎄
