Those first two pictures are BEAUTIFUL!

First one was last night heading back to Ft. Lauderdale.  Second was Curaçao.  Third somewhere at sea…and last was sail away from Ft. Lauderdale.

I heroically read Dani’s thread while on the cruise although it was extremely frustrating as I couldn’t see pictures nor post on Cruise Critic.

But, @dani negreanu, I bookmarked your delicious cheesecake recipe!!

So I must admit I have no idea what this means.  Late to the party, the story of my life.  Well, actually, I am one of those people who runs late sometimes.  My apologies....

A serious question though: we are getting ready to book our 2nd RCI cruise.  We loved Odyssey of the Seas and are looking at her itineraries.  Are there any "sister ships" of Odyssey that we should look at?  I get that all the ships have their plusses and minuses, but I'm specifically looking for our 2nd RCI cruise to be on Odyssey or a ship a lot like her.  TIA

@Sea Dog @jmh2006 This October thing is an actual possibility!  TA extraordinaire gave me a nice price. Then we called the casino number because Andy has a free cruise certificate. Turns out, we can do it for only port charges which would be about $250, if we can deal with an inside cabin 😬🥴.  Upgrading to a balcony brings the price higher than TA’s. We’re going to call back tomorrow morning to ask about OV and Promenade cabins.

Yes, Yes, Yes!!!

It means Tee Shirt Of The Day.  It took me a few to figure it out

Since we are highlighting Lee G’s song, here is a video I did a couple years ago using our local 4th of July fireworks.   I used that song as background.

Consider this as an early 4th preview.  After all, it is only a month away.

Love your pictures!  Equinox is a great ship.  Did you do the ABC Islands?

Odyssey is a derivative of the Quantum class with some differences.  Anthem is the only one sailing in the Atlantic, and the big differences, as I understand since I have never been on Anthem, are changes for warm weather cruising. including more pool spaces outdoor. I believe the MDR was originally designed for the dynamic dining concept , which never really worked out.  That has been discarded to have a similar layout to other ships. I understand other ships like the Anthem. are Ovation and the original Quantum are sailing Alaska  now.

Watching Maritime Masters on the Discovery Channel. They are featuring Scenic Eclipse doing an Antarctic sailing. The ship is beautiful and makes me interested in sailing Royals sister cruise line.

Yes, order actually was A, C, B.  As @bobmacliberty has mentioned before, it is so wonderful now that a cruise’s end means we get to return to our beautiful new home!  And very happy cats.

Our friends in Sydney, AU did the Antarctic plunge on Seaborn. Um, no. Nice cruise line apparently. They received a big book and travel documents about their cruise and expedition jackets.

And @aussielozzie18 our friend Jake is a tour guide and fix-it person at the Sydney Opera House. But I don't know if he is still doing it anymore.

We had a fun day yesterday.  For most of our day to day lives, we never go more than about 6 miles from our house, and never leave our island.  We decided yesterday to get out of our little bubble and go down to the Jacksonville area.  It's a nice drive thru some other barrier islands and the weather yesterday morning was perfect.  We drove to the St. Johns River Ferry and took the ferry across to Mayport, where we had lunch at Safe Harbor Seafood.

Safe Harbor is one of those right on the dock seafood places that is not at all fancy but has fantastic, very fresh food...often literally caught that morning.  We got there around noon and because it's popular, there was a line to order.

You place your order and then take a number to your table, and they deliver your food when it's ready.  We sat outside overlooking the river where we could see the fishing boats docked.  Sorry...forgot to take food porn pics but we had your typical fish baskets with grilled mayport shrimp, cole slaw, lots of french fries, and a couple of tasty hushpuppies.

After lunch, we went to the PGA Superstore, a couple of furniture stores, a great plant nursery, and a few other little places.  We didn't buy anything.  We just looked around and did something different than most other days.  Once we got back to Amelia Island, we decided to grab a drink and have dinner at our local ocean side tiki bar with nice views and live music.

As you can see in the video, it had gotten windy, so we gave up after one drink and went to our favorite local pizza place instead.  It probably doesn't compare to Joe & Pat's but it's Micheline's favorite here (I prefer V Pizza but happy wife...).  Sorry, but again no food porn.

All in all, a nice day that was different from the routine.

🎵oops, I did it again🎵. Adventure here we come!

Using Andy’s casino certificate we were able to book a promenade room at a ridiculously low cost to us.  I just couldn’t do an interior (even though promenade’s are interior) down on Deck 2 or 3.  We will be on Deck 8.  I’ll miss the balcony but following on the heels of our family August trip and the Med trip, it just wasn’t in the budget.  Next up is booking Beach Club and JVD.
