While our dogs are pretty smart I don’t think they would be good at dropping the ball back in the bucket. They don’t like giving up the ball. The only way I could get my dog to give up a ball was to show her a second ball. 3

She will steal my grocery list and I have to give her another paper to get it back. 4

She loved chasing the ball when thrown, but never learned to give it back to us so she could chase it again. Our neighbors Lab on the other hand would never stop dropping the ball at your feet and then stand there excitedly until you threw it again. Didn't matter how long he had to wait...you'd give up before he did and just throw it to make him go away (at least for a few seconds).
BonTexasNY Posted July 29 #126654 Share Posted July 29 Ad for Maggiano's. Somehow, I'm thinking of cruising and not lasagna. 😉 5

Thor can put 2 balls in his mouth. There is a 3rd ball in a pocket just in case!

Rare aussielozzie18 Posted July 29 #126661 Share Posted July 29 We’ve got wild bunnies in our area atm. Max can smell them before I see them and will charge off at speed unexpectedly, so I’ve had to put him back in a harness and change the lead.

We have lots of bunnies and rabbits have a couple that live in my backyard. Lots of bobcats and coyotes also fence keeps coyotes from backyard but bobcats occasionally climb the rather large fence approximately ten foot.
FromSea2ShiningSea Posted July 29 #126663 Share Posted July 29 (edited) 7/13/2024- Ålesund, Norway - Cruise Compass’ introduction to Alesund, Norway: Alesund is a small but lively city with a unique modern feel. A rebuilding effort following a major fire in 1904 gave the city its distinctive Art Nouveau architectural style, defined by its ornate details, asymmetrical facades, and curving forms meant to resemble plants, animals, and flowers. From the city park, walk up the 418 steps to the city peaks, Aksla—you’ll be rewarded with a gorgeous panoramic view of the city, the islands, and the rugged Sunnmorsalpane mountain range. Alesund is the home base for Norway’s largest cod-fishing fleet, so you won’t have to go far to try some of the delicious and fresh seafood. On this day’s shore excursion, we stopped by the Alesund Church. However, we could not go inside. Sunnmøre Museum- A beautiful open-air museum featuring some historic and distinctive houses with exhibits inside them. akcruz Posted July 29 #126666 Share Posted July 29 Finishing up our time in the Poconos with our daughter and family, both of us are exhausted from keeping the grandkids busy. Much time spent swimming, boating, fishing, games, bonfires, etc etc. Going thru many pics, need to see if any I can share here until then the calm after the storm, they went back home today.

FromSea2ShiningSea Posted July 29 #126668 Share Posted July 29 Alesund, Norway con’t This part of the Sunnmore Museum exhibits Viking ships This boat was an original while others are replicas This fishing vessel M/K Heland, was the type of boat that influenced fishing for a large part of the 20th century. During the war, it made a new trip with 25 Norwegian refugees onboard to safety, from Vigra and reached Lerwick in Shetland two days later. Some kayakers You can see the white zig-zagging lines on the right hand side. That’s the 418 steps that you can take to the top for a panoramic view of the city. Harbour lighthouse Sakte Fart mean “Slow Speed” at the harbour This Fish & Chips place with its advertisement on their window, “Don’t Miss Our Homemade Fish & Chips. Probably the Best in the World”. We heard it was very good. This is the 418 steps to the city’s peak. DH was sorry he didn’t get to do this. He didn’t think he’d have enough time to hike up and back down after our long day of excursion. 20
dbancroft Posted July 29 #126669 Share Posted July 29 We fly to Florida this Saturday and board the Freedom Sunday for 2 weeks. Grandkids are really excited because we were able to get connecting junior suites. They really enjoy having a larger balcony and being able to run between rooms.

Too thick. 18 minutes ago, Sunshine3601 said: Best wishes for your dental procedure tomorrow😊 Glad to hear your Daughter is feeling better. @lenquixote66 Lenny from me too!
Sunshine3601 Posted July 30 #126674 Share Posted July 30 Henry the groundhog is no longer cute. He is now a nuisance destroying my raised garden beds and eating a lot. Eric named him Henry 2 weeks ago when we saw him eating some clovers. He's not the least bit scared of the cats and they just sit and watch him. I put hot peppers and garlic around the perimeter on Saturday but he didn't care he had a feast last night and has a hole right in the middle of my tomatoes bed. Eric put mesh fencing around everything today and put a whole container of cayenne pepper in his hole. Suspect he will just dig another one. In all my years of gardening never had groundhog issues. Anyone have any suggestions? 4
