Tried for a Royal Loft Suite for the Star experience. Bid $50 over min per person. No luck. There were no star lofts available a couple of days ago so maybe no royal ups. I think our only hope was that someone tested positive. We’re in a CLS which has 2 bathrooms. Micheline gets the nice upstairs one, and I get the transporter tube bathroom downstairs.

Waiting for the headliner show to start. Tony Tillman. Haven’t seen him before but have heard he’s good. No more blocked rows or seats in the theater. They just ask that you leave open seats between groups.

Day 5- Sept 14, 2021 Sitka, Alaska 

 

Forecast mostly cloudy with chance of rain.

 

 

 

 

 

 

We took the free shuttle into town and walked along the harbor, went by the Sitka Sound Science Center.

 

 

 

Walked through Sitka National Historic Park.

 

 

Walked a little further to the Alaska Raptor Center.

 

 

A unique kind of a hotdog that consists of 30% reindeer.

 

Came back to the ship and had Fish & Chips with Chicken Fingers from Fish& Ships.

 

 

Dinner tonight.

I think our last Anthem sailing was march 2019.  We used to do a cruise on anthem every march for my husband's birthday.   He declared March 2020 that he wont age on his birthday until he cruises on his birthday again.  

Our march 2020 cruise has been moved to march 2022.  Hopefully we will be on that one.

I like that theory, in my singles days many years ago I almost always cruise on my birthday, we rarely cruise now on either of our birthdays but did celebrate my wife’s big birthday in a penthouse in July, for that she should of added a couple of negative years.

Day 6- Sept 15, 2021 Sailing into Endicott Arm & Dawes Glacier 6:00am-10:00am

 

Forecast cloudy with chance of rain.  It was very cold so the crew set up a hot beverage table to help warm us up.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Because it was 45 degrees outside, the FlowRider is closed.  DH ran into the medical conference speaker who is an Ob/Gyn also and invited DH to attend this session on women’s health so he did for a couple of hours.  

 

Then it was to ride the bumper cars in Seaplex. 

 

Windjammer lunch.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After that, FlowRider opened up as the temperature got above 50 degrees.
