It could be an interesting season this year with Samantha.  The other 4 leave the trees alone.  Stanley looks so cute though in the tree.

He really does. It’s an artificial tree- we have been saying for years that we need a new one, then a cat climbs it, and we say- “Maybe next year!”

When are cats were kittens we would not dare to put of a tree , I am positive Gracie would have climbed to the top of it .

Sooner or later, the tribe will realize that she's a strategic threat and vote her out...unless her alliance can protect her somehow.  Can't see her getting to the end.  It will probably be right after she makes some comment about being in control of the game.  The producers seem to like showing that "over confidence" right before someone gets blind sided.

Sooner would suit me fine.

I like Xander a lot.  I had no idea he'd made a fake idol.  Jim did.  It certainly was a brilliant move!

I especially hate it when she "hums"  That gets on my nerves!

Oh that gets on my nerves, too along with that smug look when she is doing it.

Leaves are popping here is Southwestern Virginia.

I'm always impressed seeing the American flag in your yards.

May be I've seen Andrew ( @A&L_Ont) displaying the Canadian too.

Here the flag is displayed only once a year, for the Independence Day.

Lately, less and less people are doing this, something to do with us being quite split in the middle....😢

Oh gosh, that must have been quite worrying.  You don't really think that when you choose your doctor that you need to ask them about eVacuAtion procedures.  You clearly should.

I am in the process of re-evaluating the necessity of going to doctors where something like this could occur again.

When one cat we got from the shelter last year died unexpectedly three months later, I was so in shock I went immediately back to the shelter to get another cat.  There were some adorable fluff balls…all already spoken for.  There was an ungainly spindly black kitten…and I came home with her.  That’s Menise.  She is black but has white porcupine hairs in random places…she has a body too large for her head…she’s not going to be on a Hallmark card.

But she is the sweetest cat I’ve ever had. She sleeps on my pillow at night.  She goes downstairs with me when I wake up.  She goes back upstairs with me and waits patiently on a bath mat while I shower and blow dry my hair.  She curls up in my lap whenever I sit down.  At night when we watch TV she’s asleep on the sofa back behind my head.  She’s never hissed or growled…she doesn’t even really ever mew…she merrows in her throat.

I might have thought I wasn’t getting a beautiful cat…but I came home with the most beautiful spirit I’ve ever had the privilege of taking care of…who takes care of me as well.

Just to say, Greg, and all you other animal lovers, they occupy such a large space in your heart.  So when they are gone there are memories…but there is also a vast sorrow.

Had lunch..... a fried bologna sandwich with ketchup and onions.

Ok, so after reading your very well-written post, the only thing I could focus on was fried bologna sandwich.

I love bologna. I know, probaly not the healthiest of the cold cuts (or lunch meat as others call it) but I find it yummy

However,  in my 50+ years on this earth, I never heard of a fried bologna sandwich until I was in San Antonio,  TX a few years ago. I had it with ketchup and no onions because onions=yuck. But the sandwich was so tasty that I sent a few pics to family & friends. Big deal for me because I'm not a food porn guy. Most of the responses back were yuck.

I eventually found a place near me that a has fried bologna on the menu. A southern BBQ opened by a transplant southern. Needless to say,  that place has become one of my go-to places.

I can’t see her going to the end.  When she gets voted out I wouldn’t mind them playing that hum as she walks away.  @Luckynana As soon as Xander pulled out the fake idol Sharon said, that’s a fake idol.  It was a nice play.  I was glad Erika smashed the hour glass.  My best episode this season.

The rewards have to be, in many cases, intrinsic, cause otherwise - in my experience, you don't always get them from the administration or parents. I saw that change (for the worse) over the years. It has also become more difficult over the years in some ways. Back in the day, at the end of the year, it was always "have a nice summer" from my principal. The last few years, however, it became, "don't forget to check your email regularly over the summer". Also, things like electronic lesson planning and whiteboards came along, Also the over-emphasis on testing. It used to be that in the morning before the kids came teachers would be relaxing, having a bit of chat for a few  minutes before the students arrived, but in later years you could almost cut the air with a knife - people jacked up, stressed out over this, that, and the other thing. No matter how much the classroom teachers did, it was never enough. Maybe just my perception within our local district. Our administration made it perfectly clear that you were expected to use all the latest technology. I get it, but for some of us old timers it was a steep learning curve! But then, they were more than happy when the older (and highest paid) teachers decided to leave.

One thing for sure....my hat is off to any teachers that have had to cope with virtual vs. in-school during covidl. I can't even imagine.

I was blessed- having taught elementary instrumental music - to have always had "the cream of the crop" being that it is a voluntary program - which attracted the families that were more well-grounded, plus the higher socioeconomic background. But even the "cream" became less creamy the last few years. The dissolution of the nuclear family, I guess you could call it, played a part. It became routine for kids to talk about their mom's boyfriend or their dad's girlfriend. My wife has some really crazy stories since she was in the regular classroom.

Like i said previously, when I retired I got  no recognition from my superintendent at all - understandable since he didn't like me anyway.

Both of my daughters teach in schools in high crime areas. My older daughter who is in her 26th.year of teaching in an elementary school in Brooklyn leaves her LI home at 5:30 AM so that she can get a parking spot on the same block as the school. My other daughter who lives in Manhattan teaches in a LI high school. She has honor students for the most part.

Such a pretty kitty, it sounds like she takes real good care of you.

I lost my best friend in April, had her for 11 years.

@Ozark_Kid
I looked in the Apple Store for Mexican

Train and found a bunch of them.
Can you tell me the developer for yours? Or some way to determine which allow solo playing??

I thought it best to post a pic of it.  Let me know if you find it.  The developer is Glowing Eye Games but I could not see the name in the search.  It comes up first when I search but May do so because I have it downloaded.  There are several setting but once set up you will like it.581CAD4A-BA0E-4AE1-BB97-F101C1D092D4.thumb.jpeg.6db52dd453beb498a98e2feeed1d820f.jpeg
